I have a craftsman extractor set that seems to do the job for me. I think it might be perfect for the job you've described.... http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00952155000P?mv=rr -
Royal Star Venture questions......
dr_bar replied to tibadoe's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Actually Mike, (Totalmotorcycle) at TMW is a super guy. That website is his only job, he gets everything directly from the manufacturers as soon as it's available for print. He doesn't have any links to those bikes on the list, so I imagine he's just getting the pages set up so he can link when the news comes. TMW is an incredible site with a ton of info and a a huge following of members. It is a totally free site, but myself and others have donated enough money to rid the site of it's advertising pop-ups. You'll find me on the discussion forms with the alias of dr_bar, go figure, lol. Mike's site is based in Calgary although who knows where the servers are. This past Feb, he upped the bandwidth on the site to 1 Terabyte/month to handle the volume of traffic he gets. -
The biggest complaint I have with the bike is that one space that lets cold air hit the knees, those look sweet. I think a pair would be in order...

I wonder if a not so polite email was sent to Yamaha Canada asking about a worthless warranty, and just how much the people you know would like to hear about it. Do you think they might be a little bit more helpfull???

I'm going on the Motorcycle Ride for Dad Sunday the 31st of May in Vancouver. The Ride for Dad raises funds for cancer research and education. I'm riding for my second year and have a modest goal of $500, if you feel so inclined, you can make a donation through my page at the link posted below. http://www.cgiottawa.com/ERDS/Donation.aspx?evt=22&i=409764

If you use the isolator, you don't have to worry about this, the isolator protects your bike's electronics from any shorts that may happen...

Avon tires and the cold weather.
dr_bar replied to sarges46's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The Avons that fit the Venture are bias ply to handle the weight. -
I believe he was refering to the hitch it self. Is it the hitch that replaces the spreader bar for the saddle bags? If so, it's not meant to handle much weight...

I'd like taller ones to fill in the little gap that allows that chilly breeze to hit me right on the kneecap...

With the limited space on the bars, and the unlimited amount of things to put there, has anyone tried to put an accessory bar on their RSV? Texelent makes one for the GW but not for anything else. Here are a couple of pics to explain what I mean. This is the actual bar and mouting hardware, http://www3.telus.net/drbar/pics/access_bar1.jpg Here it is mounted; http://www3.telus.net/drbar/pics/access_bar2.jpg

Set up a route through the local area, post signs (a whole lot of them) with Venture related words or pictures on them. The parent or volunteer rider, takes a child on the preset route, the child then spots and writes down what the sign is and where it was located. The child with the most correct wins, ties can be broken by accuracy of where they spotted the signs. Putting the signs on both sides of the road, some "not so conspicuous" will make the job of finding them all a little tougher and easier to declare a winner. This can be divided up into different age catagories as well so a twelve year old won't be competing with a six year old, making the game fair for several different age groups. Doug Another idea would be to connect with someone that has organized games for the GW rallies or Wing Ding...

It was a sad state of affairs here, 18C while driving around getting all the paper work for my "New to Me" Jimmy all in order, (Damn had to have the air on.) Tomorrow, it's out on the bike for sure... I will admit to our small April fools surprise of an inch of snow on wednesday, don't know where that came from...

With the rig attached to the side of that wing, the cop thought he had a mobile grow op behind him. By the way, just how's that rig holding up? Are you getting out as much as you'd like? For anyone that doesn't know Heatherswheels, check out her website and you'll be introduced to one of the most determined young woman I've ever met online. I know Heather from another site we frequent. (TMW)

I got my hitch from the site below. It just takes the place of the spacer bar between the saddle bags on my 2007 RSV. I didn't see it pictured on the site but I picked mine up right from their location last summer. By the way, it's a receiver style hitch... http://www.leesurelite.com/motorcycleaccessories.asp
