Up here in Canada, we get royally screwed on M/C tires. I just bought a pair of Avon Venoms and they cost me $375ca. That doesn't sound too bad until you realize I got them 40% off on sale. And no, that's not mounted...

Gee, it sure looks a whole lot like this one... I seriously doubt that either one is real... Becoming Illegal (Actual letter from a British Columbia resident and sent to the PM) The Honorable Steven Harper Parliment Buildings Ottawa, Ontario. Canada Dear Prime Minister Harper As a native Canadian and excellent customer of Revenue Canada, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Immigration in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you. My primary reason for wishing to change my status from Canadian Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in Canada for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out. Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005. Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year. Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as 'in-province' tuition rates for many colleges throughout Canada for my son. Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car. If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder???????? Your Loyal Constituent , SanDee Sefcik Calgary,AB Get your Forms (NOW)!! Call Revenue Canada. 1-800-289-1040. I'm using the 5-40 synth and I'm having no problems, the only thing I would recommend is not to switch to synth until the engine is fully broken in. Talking to a race mechanic, he said the synth won't let the engine get a full break in...

I like the concept as well, but was wondering how you keep the tongue weight down? Am I wrong, or is half the weight of the trailer & cargo on the tongue? It's not like you can load behind the axle to balance the weight...

With a couple of sweet mods, that sleeper could be turned into a toy hauler... But I like it as it sits as well, nice rig...

It appears that it will fit any hitch, as it bolts on where the ball is usually mounted. If you get a spare receiver bar then you could bolt it to that and slip it into a receiver hitch if so desired.

Gee, my cop was nicer than yours... I was doing 128kph in that 80kph construction zone between Gaglardi and Kensington, totally let me go with just a warning...

A friend was looking for a bike four years ago and asked me along to help her out with the right questions and to drive her to the dealers of course. Well, we went to just about every dealer locally that day. I wasn't really looking for a bike myself, but having always wanted a Goldwing, I sat on several that day, I changed my mind. Not that there's anything wrong with the wing, it's just I didn't like the leg room available. Putting my legs way outside those fairings seemed kinda silly since you spend so much on them to protect you from the elements. Well, as we slowly walked around the last stop of the day I happened on a a brand 2005 RSMV sitting in the showroom. I threw a leg over and told my friend that I had found my next bike. Well financing didn't go well, and I ended up putting it off and settled for a used '97 Valkyrie. then last year at the Vancouver Motorcycle show I fell in love with the bike all over again, I put an offer in on a new 2007 model that was still crated and got it for $16,900, (Compared to the $22,000 list price at the time.) I loved it the day I bought it and now that it's a year older and has 30,000 kms under it's wheels, I still love it.

My local Yamaha Dealer has some great girls working in the parts dept. They seem to get just about everything I need in record time. A few weeks ago, while I was in picking up a new heated vest, they gave me a bag with a few parts in it knowing I could get rid of them, and I did, except for the following: The rear chrome trim from the front fender, RSV. An incomplete set of wood grain stickers for the RSV dash. (the circled pieces in the photo below) Maybe needed for replacing damaged pieces. These parts are free for the asking, just pm me... http://www3.telus.net/drbar/pics/STR-4XY26-72-0R.jpg

I don't know about south of the border, but in Canada, the laws regarding labelling are totally stupid. You can buy a shirt that's made in Indonesia, with buttons made in China, and top it off with some sort of applique made in Korea. If at least one part of the whole is attached in Canada, the company can put a made in Canada sticker on it. That goes for clothing, machinery etc... Talk about truth in advertising and labelling.

I talked to a supplier and was advised against the gloves. Most of the battery ones just don't do the trick and the plugins were not an even heat. He recomended heated grips as the best choice. He even had a work around for the ISO Grips for those that have or want them. As to body warmth, I just purchased a new vest and will let you know how it works when I get it hooked up and tested. It's supposed to hold an even 50 C on high, so for those dealing with huge wind chills, that should keep you warm. I'm also contemplating using the vest for a weight loss program, just melt that fat right off me while I wander around the house with it set on high. http://www.theheatinside.com/index.php

I currently have a magellan Crossover but I'm contemplating an upgrade to the Garmin 378. Water proof up to IPX 7 standards. Marine, Auto, and Motorcycle approved... http://www.gpscentral.ca/products/garmin/378.htm I was happy with my crossover for about a week, when it got wet for about 5 seconds in some rain before I could drop it into my tank bag, it never worked again and getting a warranty replacement was like pulling teeth... -
Why in hell would anyone do that to a Valkyrie??? What a waste of an incredible bike...

Just a couple of more degrees and our southern neighbours will understand just how cold it is, -40 C is the same as -40 F Out here on the coast it's starting to get chilly as well, right now it's a frosty 7 C or 44.6 F I might actuall get out and put a couple of miles on the RSV...

I belong to a few other MC sites, and one of them has a section for personal blogs, the rules are simple, you can pretty much say what you want, (Still within a PG based guideline) and no one is allowed to post into your blog in any way that attacts the owner of the blog or her/his opinion. PM's are another great way to discuss without hitting the boards with heated opinions. And although I have never been a fan of chat rooms, there is one here that can be used and I'm sure there is a way to make private rooms for "Frank" discussions. If not, there's bound to be some sort of software available to facilitate such a discussion. Not having the bashing here, that goes on in other forms is just another reason I make Venturerider.org one of my cyber homes. Thanks to the moderators for keeping such a clean house and to all the members for trying their best to keep it this way also... Doug :wow::wow:

Hope you don't mind I posted a link to the ad on another site I visit. There are a couple of rabid HD fans over there...
