Had my radio control unit replaced, no questions asked. It didn't work, heck we'll call you when the replacement is in... That's a Yamaha Dealer... Oh by the way, that's all they handle, just Yamahas... Two thumbs up for GA Checkpoint...

Yup, cheap as hell here in Vancouver. $1.169/litre, (or as you would say south of the border... $4.43/gallon.)

Well, how about we share the wealth, I'm wishin' a Happy Thanksgiving to all members of the boards. Canadian or American, we all have a lot to be thankful for. .................................................................................................. (It's just that those American members get to do it all again in a month...)

What is everyones favorite chrome accessories?
dr_bar replied to roadwarrior's topic in Bike Accessories
I'm lookin' for the chrome that comes with auto polishers as well... Now I believe these two come with the polish, so that might be an option... http://www3.telus.net/drbar/pics/girls1.jpg -
Avons are going on mine in the spring, along with the tire pressure monitors... BluesLover, is it possible you picked up a nail or something and a slow leak weakened the tire enough to let go with the increased heat???

I crossed the bridge and grabbed a room in St. Ignace, then took #2 west to Shelby MT, then north into Alberta. Just a portion of my cross continent tour last year.

If camping is the way you want to go, I recommend Toad Rock. Five to ten minutes down the highway from Ainsworth Hotsprings, Pefect location for doing a couple of different loops, owned and operated by a woman biker. They have a great pavillion for get togethers and they have flush toilets, free showers and laundry facilities. You might also want to re-think the dates... With the International Rally starting on the 3rd of Aug, I would have to skip one or the other... I honestly can't get past the looks of it... To me, it's got to be one of the ugliest things I've ever seen on two wheels...http://bestsmileys.com/puking/3.gif

Someone mentioned Nelson and the Kootenays... Damned good riding in the area and there just happens to be a motorcycle friendly campsite in the area... http://www.toadrockcampground.com/ The BCCOM (British Columbia Coalition of Motorcyclists) hold their rally there in July...

So I guess my answer is NO??? A plug and play unit just plugs into the existing harness and there are no splices involved...
-
Now, is there a plug and play harness for the 2nd gens??? Rather than go and splice in a micky mouse unit, I'd perfer pay a few dollars more for a harness that's made for the bike.

I loaded my trailer so that the tongue weight was between 10 & 15lbs, then I put the cooler loaded with bevies and ice on the tongue mounted rack and that brought her up to 32lbs... http://www3.telus.net/drbar/pics/Bike%20and%20trailer.jpg

Sorry to dig this up, but I couldn't resist... Well, here's your opportunity to put all the other trailer manufactures to shame... http://www.businesssellcanada.com/80225002.htm
-
The vendors of most trailers will tell you that tongue weight should be 10% of the trailer weight, loaded. If you go light on the tongue, you're asking for all kinds of problems on the road. Get yourself a hook style scale and weigh the tongue before leaving, it could save your life. How do you know the total weight of your trailer??? Easy, weigh the stuff you put in it then add it to the trailers listed weight...

Yes the weather held until I got home from a 8 hour outing... Met five riders and put on close to 200km with several short stops and a lunch break in there somewhere. Great last day of summer... ....................................................................................................................................................................

If you turn your squelch to max... "20" you won't, or I should say , shouldn't have a problem...

How's the higher output affect the battery? I know that the Compu - Fire replacement for the GL1500's need a new Gel cell battery because the Alternator will fry the stock one...

The Astoria Megler bridge is one of my favourites, it is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America.... Below is a link to two of my favourite bridges on the west coast, I spliced the pans myself... enlarge them to see any detail on the Astoria Megler Bridge, it gains elevation on the south end to allow the freighters and cruise ships to go up the Columbia.. http://www3.telus.net/drbar/pics/bridges2.jpg
