  1. Is there a list of words that are currently "Off limits" for subects in the wateringhole? I know politics are off limits... but what else? 99.99999 percent of my theads have been Motorcycle related. There have been many non-motorcycle related threads on this forum. My fear is that a very few here, are going to go out of their way, to get threads deleted they don't like. thanks in advance Joe
  2. I have a honest question, I have read in posts, most recently the darkside poll by captain Joe, that some who went back to the motorcycle tire did so because they pushed the limits of riding. Now I assume they mean in cornering, and curves. The question is how do you push it past the floorboards dragging the ground. I can easily drag my floor boards in sharps curves any most any speed. I have had to replace my right foot peg because of draging getting on and off I 75 at hwy 82 the cloverleaf ramp in Tifton. not being smart, I'm just asking, how can you ride harder than that. Gregg
  3. I got back yesterday afternoon. Had a great time and rode all over Talladega National Forest. From I-20 East go south on hwy 21 turn east on 398 turn left on 281, 199 curves in 14 miles. Went to Grits mill and covered bridge. Traveled 652.7 miles and averaged 45 mpg, driving the speed limit (indicated 75, which is 70 mph) and posted limits elsewhere. It was also nice and cool. The directions I gave was to Mt. Cheaha, be sure to go to Ball Rock outlook. Will try to post pictures in photobucket. http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc231/TEW47/ tew47
  4. Both pulled and tongue weight limits. What're the limits? I've read that the RSV's warranty won't be void if a trailer is pulled and that it is the only MC that can pull one without voiding the warranty. Is that correct? If so, why doesn't the manual say anything about trailering?

    New Avons

Ok, just installed the new venoms! can't wait to try them out! What pressures everyone running? I do a lot of two up riding. Also, load limits just under 900#? Kinda light for an 875# bike?
  6. Hi Everyone, First I'd like to say thanks for such a great site. I've really learned a lot from many of the posts. I'm particularly impressed with the helpfulness of eveyone. Anyone care to help some more? I picked up an 83 Venture XVZ1200 from a friend and it wasn't running. The current status is I'm only getting spark from 2 cylinders (1 & 3). Thanks to this site I've tried quite a few things so I thought if anyone could point me another direction I'd be very grateful. Here's the list of what I've tried: I changed out the plugs Primary coil is within limits Spark coils are within limits I refitted the plug wires (cut about 1/4 inch at the coil and plugs and re-fitted) Pressure sensor tested within limits Cleaned all electrical connections with spray Pulled the TCI and opened the cover, it smelled like fuel, I dried it for about 20 minutes on LOW with a hair dryerNot sure what else to do although I still suspect the TCI. Any help would be appreciated. Can't wait to go for a first ride! Thanks in advance.
