  1. Why did the manufacturer of the computer mouse replace the roller ball type with the optic type? Because it's easier to clean a mouse's feet than it's balls!
  2. It's time to replace my old desktop pc in the den. A laptop would not work here and I was wondering if anybody had anything good or bad to say about the All In One pc's out today? All I do is surfing, paying bills, and social email etc. I ocassionally may backup something to the network server but thats the extent of this den machine. My thoughts are a All IN ONE with a wireless mouse and keyboard would be great. A 20+ inch screen would be nice to.No touchscreen is necessary. The less moving around in this lazy boy recliner the better I like it.
  3. Ok, not a huge deal but it's making me nuts. I have Logitech wireless laser mouse that has developed a twitch. It's two years old and always works fine but in the last week it started the odd behavior. I can be on any site anywhere and I'll jump screens and the cursor will suddenly start dragging and jumping in an uncontrolled act of defiance. I can kick the 'puter into standby mode and it will clear up and work ok for a while and have good control. Then again on a different site or different page it will start up again. Just won't follow my lead. Batteries have been changes several times, lens in clean, connections with USP are the same and solid. System doesn't show any odd behaviour when it happens and no excess useage. Oh yeah, sometimes when I single click on something it will lock on a start highlighing where ever the cursor ends up. Should I be looking for a system problem or just put the mouse out of it's misery and replace it? Mike
  4. THIS WILL DRIVE YOU CRACKERS ! Go to the site, then click on the start button. A group of numerals from 1 to 33 will appear in red boxes. You don't need to click on the numbers, just move your cursor over them in order from 1 to 33 and as you correctly do so that numeral will disappear. See how fast you can get the task completed. This is a good practice to keep your brain sharp and your eye hand co-ordination crisp, or ...................................................... it could drive you mad! Enjoy!! HA! Note: REMEMBER, you don't have to "click" the mouse http://www.chezmaya.com/jeux/game33.htm
  5. ...both cars got me VERY FRUSTRATED with where auto digital technology is going...... So, my lady's lease is up on her RX350 and she still tolerates me enough to be invited along to go test riding with her. We took the Q5 and the new RX350 out this weekend. Both are within a grand of each other, but Lexus might give her a slightly better lease for being a return customer, so price not the issue. The newer Lexus grew an inch everywhere and so I wanted her to consider the Audi because it is smaller than the RX350 and because I thought her current one was kind of big to begin with. BUT this is my frustration; it is on the same topic that I've been complaining about to her whenever I get in her car. And that is that these high tech cars actually make driving more cumbersome, they actually make you less attentive to the road. I can operate all the controls on my cheapo GM car way faster than on her car while doing the exact same thing. For example, changing the climate controls on her Lexus can involve up to five hits on the touch screen, which involves reaching to the dash up to five times; whereas on my car I can practically do it without looking. Additionally, the same thing with the GPS; which I was cursing last weekend on a trip to Toronto with her; if I had my cheapo Garmin I surely would have been 5 minutes faster finding our address. So NOW we go to the new Q5 and the RX350 and here is my big beef...on both these cars they have this mouse control stick on the right hand console near the gear shift. It has buttons around the mouse to click your selections. To operate the environment controls and GPS (and much more) you have to move the mouse controller and make your selections using the surrounding buttons, and that involves watching the mouse track along on the screen to various menu options. So your eyes are off the road even more than before!!! PLUS, you have to train yourself on all this. That means that anybody getting into the car cannot quickly operate something. We did a lot of internet surfing on these cars before hand. Auto reviewers say that these digital systems are the most intuitive yet. I say TO HECK with them. My biggest beef about this new technology is how UNintuitive it is. So when I hopped into both these cars I didn't let the sales guys show me how they worked. I wanted to see if I could do it as a total stranger to the system, and let me tell you I'd have to sit there for 5 minutes just to access the GPS or change the temperature....absolutely stupid. The only answer that the sales guys had for my frustration was that these systems can do everything with voice commands. Well, so what, that is the same voice system on her car now and she could never get it working because it would never recognize her commands from one day to the next. PLUS even if the car got trained on her voice, then it would be totally useless for the next guy that got in it...like me. I'm so flippin exasperated about this; I'm surprized that the auto consumer hasn't given more negative feedback about this. Has anyone had any experience with these systems? You can all forget about the you're "getting too much like an old fart, Swifty" replies...cuz I'm smart and I know it...just ask Tuckett.
  6. This is wild Follow the instructions. Get ready to experience an hallucination. 1.- Click on the link below 2.- Then "click me to get trippy", 3.- Look at the center of the screen for 30 seconds, and then. 4.- Look at your hand holding the mouse, without moving it away from the mouse... NOT BEFORE! ( it is called "cenesthetic hallucination") http://www.neave.com/strobe/

  8. In case anyone hasn't picked up on it. The 5 pin connector for the headsets on the RSV uses the same plug as the old 5 pin DIN PC mouse connector. That is the larger mouse plug used on the old AT computers. So it wouldn't be to hard to fabricate a Y adapter if someone really needed to. Cut off an old mouse cord for the male end and use a DIN to ps2 patch cord for the female end. Mike
  9. I'm in a pickle. Got a new motherboard with one PS2 port and a bunch of USB ports. Also have a mouse and a keyboard with PS2 connectors. Do the math, pick the mouse or pick the keyboard, only one can be connected at a time. Boot up with either one and it works. The keyboard is needed to key in my login password, Unfortunately the driver setup that came with the MB does not seem to recognize keyboard tabs or arrows so I can't install the drivers that would --- hopefully --- allow the USB ports to work. Yes, I got a USB to PS2 adapter but neither mouse nor keyboard works when connected to a USB port. The Win7 Control Panel does not appear very helpful compared to the one in Win2K. Haven't found a way to see the status of any devices yet. Boot up and plug in the mouse USB and the computer says installing device drivers, as expected, but the install fails for reasons unknown to me. Anyone got any experience with this confounded contraption who could offer any advice?
  10. Hello everyone, Happy New Year!! I have a situation that I need some help with. My 1996 Royal Star wound up with a mouse nest in the airbox, unknown to me, and has been ingested into the motor. The nest seems to be just soft debris. What if any problems could come from this?
  11. I am seriously considering buying a 2nd VR. This one is an 86 model that needs a bit of work, but has low mileage. One issue is the left side muffler. The owner told me that there is a problem which he suggested could be caused by a restriction such as a mouse nest. When I looked at the bike, the muffler was noticeably blue from overheating. Any thoughts on likely causes and related fixes?
  12. Here are photos of our little Mini Mouse for Halloween. She had a wonderful time. Yama Mama
  13. Now, is there a plug and play harness for the 2nd gens??? Rather than go and splice in a micky mouse unit, I'd perfer pay a few dollars more for a harness that's made for the bike.
