So is a Boeing 727.

LOL....I'll bet I can get there before you do.

That would be Chile Beer. Originally brewed in Cave Creek, AZ at Crazy Ed's Brewery but is now brewed in Mexico. There is a very good chance that there are a couple in my refrigerator at this very moment. Only problem is, I'm miles from my refrigerator.

You can also click on "full list" from the drop down states list. Then on the right side of the page, you will see a search box asnd under that a "advanced" link. There you can search by state, city, country, etc.

Yea, I was visiting a customer two weeks ago that has one of those. I sat on it and have to admit that it feels really good and looks great also. The price is a bit high for me though, especially considering that you are looking at about another $1,000.00 to add intercom and CB. I actually built one at the Victory site and it came to over $24,000.00 with the very few options that I felt I had to have. That did NOT include the CB/Intercom system so now it would be well over $25,000.00. Nice...but a bit out of my price range. Then it is still an air cooled and belt driven bike. For some here, one or both of those details are a deal killer.

Hagon vs Works Rear Shock
Freebird replied to ablumny's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I may very well be confused on what you folks are talking about but isn't the spring in question an external spring? The OEM shock does not have an external spring so I don't see how that would be possible. -

Looks like a fun project and one that could end up being a real screamer. I will be interested to see how it progresses. -
Possible New Venture Owner

Two other things come to mind that you can look for. Some of the trunk bottoms cracked on the '99 models. Open the trunk and lift up the rubber pad in the bottom and make sure it's not cracked. Yamaha came out with a fix that included large washers inside the trunk. It also included a rubber block between the bottom of the trunk and the chrome mount at the very rear of the trunk. If it has not been added then it is something that you will want to do but make sure it's not already broken. CB antennas were not very good on the '99 models. Yamaha changed them in 2000. The '99 was the only year that the antennas didn't fold. That is how you can tell if they are the original '99 antennas. The problem with them is that they got loose and didn't make good connection on the base. They have a black base that is a press fit onto a stud on the mounting arm. Mine got where I could twist them slightly and just pull them right off. Minor issue that is easily and fairly cheaply remedied with aftermarket antennas. -
Now now....don't go getting testy about it. You have to figure...how many people here even HAVE the 4-2-4 mufflers. I only know of a couple of sets myself and I don't think either of them are running different tips. It was a fair question but I'm not completely surprised that nobody had an answer. So, you are the tester now. I hope you will report back on what you find.

Hagon vs Works Rear Shock
Freebird replied to ablumny's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I think the confusion is regarding "heavy duty". They obviously have a shock for the Venture but he was looking for a heavy duty model. -
Creaking Rear Wheel SYNDROME
Freebird replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No, I can't say that I've ever had that issue but I learned many years ago about greasing the pins in the hub. As for the alignment, like Kent said, if the axle doesn't slide in easily then you need the alignment. I've never had any problem sliding my axle in or out. I did check that alignment one time just to do it but wasn't actually having an issue. Once it is done, there will likely be no reason to ever do it again unless you pull the drive shaft and then need to re-align it. -

Wally, you need to explore a bit. That has been posted here since 2006. It is good to bring it back up though. Glad you got it all resolved. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1705 -
Venture Died - NEED HELP !!!!!
Freebird replied to nscrfn3's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
It could be a tough one to track down. I hate intermittent issues like that. I've seen it happen, but rarely, when the lean angle sensor caused that exact problem. I had a friend that went through that and it took a long time and several dealers to finally identify the problem. As stated though, it could be the ignition switch. When it quits and won't start, do all the dash lights and indicators still work? -
Due to those problems, I have moved the classifieds to the forum. They are all listed at the bottom part of the discussion forum. All the new areas, including "Member Vendors" have been created. It is now just a matter of our members getting their ads re-posted to the new sections.
-
OK folks, due to continuing issues with our classifieds section, I am going to see how it works by doing away with the separate classifieds area and creating forum areas for our classifieds. I have already created the new forums and you'll see them if you scroll down on the home page of the forum. There are positives and negatives to moving them to the forum. Positives: Possibly more exposure for the ads. Better integration with the forum software. Will put an end to headaches that the present system is causing me with ads mysteriously going away, being marked sold, etc. Negatives: No integrated "buy now" button. PayPal and/or payment info will have to be worked out through contact with the seller. No option to "renew" an ad. They are set to expire in 60 days and then if your item hasn't sold, you will just have to replace your ad. No "miles from me" indication but most complained that the feature didn't work anyway. So, we'll see how it works out and go from there. I will leave the current classifieds open for a few days. If you have items or an item for sale in the classifieds, please take the time to add it to the new area as your existing add will be gone in a few days.

The board does allow embedded video. There is even a forum named "videos" dedicated to them. I'm not sure what all you are doing but all you have to do is go to the video, copy the URL from your browser and paste it into your post. I have software installed here that does the rest.

Yep, I believe it. Having been born and raised in Texas, I've seen summers there when it was so dry that the catfish had ticks.

If it was repaired properly, it may be OK. I agree that it really does hurt the price but it sounds like he has it priced a good bit lower than KBB already. I just checked and a 2008 Ranger with no additions, just the regular cab, 4 cylinder and 5 speed..NO options added, comes out to $9,065.00 in good condition. So if it is a fairly basic truck, he is getting close to 1/3 off that price already. I think that is still a little high for a truck with a salvage title but I don't know how it is equipped either. If I was 100% confident that it was repaired properly. Frame is straight and not TOO much mud was used to repair it, I would want to buy it at no more than 2/3 of the KBB price and to be honest, I would rather get it closer to 50%. I had a friend in Texas who was in the rebuild business. I've owned 3 or 4 vehicles that he rebuilt and they had salvage titles. I always bought them cheap enough that I got my money out of them after driving them for a year and even made money on them a couple of times. It is a risk though and even though he was good at what he did, they weren't always as good as they looked.

BUT...that won't keep people from printing them. To be honest, I don't think there is a sure fire way to keep people from printing anything on the screen. You can disable right click and etc. but there are just too many ways to do a screen capture that would defeat anything you try to do.

I've never used it. I installed it at the request of some of our members. The way I understand it is that it reformats the site to make it fit better and be easier to read on smaller screens such as used on phones.

OK....I THINK I just made a change so that Tapatalk will still work but you shouldn't get the annoying popups letting you know that it's available. You may have to clear your cookies for the change to take effect.

All the same suggestions that I was about to make. Remember, the volume is separate for the CB and the Audio system. I would start by turning OFF the CB or adjusting the squelch all the way up to 20. You can turn the CB completely off by simply holding the CB button in for a few seconds.
