  1. I agree. You should be very proud of that young lady and please let her know that we are all appreciative of her service. I hope that the two of you have a wonderful time this weekend.
  2. Sorry, wish I could offer some guidance but that is a job that I have never done.
  3. I work for a company that manufacturers sign letters and cast and acid etched plaques. So most of my time is spent meeting with sign companies and architects and some trade shows.
  4. Go to UserCP. Scroll down until you see "edit options" in the left menu. Then scroll down to "display options". In the drop down menu beside "thread display mode", change it to "Linear - oldest first". If I am misunderstanding what you want...if you want the newest posts to be at the top, change it to "Linear - Newest First".
  5. Well heck Bob...don't know why your name didn't come up at the bottom of the page unless you have birthday turned off in your profile but HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Hope you had a great one. Just looked and yep...you have elected to hide it in your profile. That didn't help...we all know now.
  6. Naw...doubt I'll even go. I can see the beach and the Queen Mary from the convention center but I'll be buried with business every day.
  7. Sorry about that folks but there was absolutely nothing that I could do. The entire data center in Dallas where our server is hosted had a power outage. The automatic transfer switch to standby power apparently ALSO failed. So it was a big mess. I got...uh...well lets just say a FEW emails that the site was down. I am actually in Long Beach, CA this week for a trade show and was busy setting up the booth all day today. Even if I could have gotten away from that though, there was nothing I could do. Again, sorry about the down time but sometimes things are just out of our control.
  8. Really sorry it happened Brad. I know you are disappointed that the new bike is a bit under the weather but it will be made like new again and the important thing is that you are here to tell about it. I'm glad that it wasn't worse.
  9. So is a Boeing 727.
  10. LOL....I'll bet I can get there before you do.
  11. That would be Chile Beer. Originally brewed in Cave Creek, AZ at Crazy Ed's Brewery but is now brewed in Mexico. There is a very good chance that there are a couple in my refrigerator at this very moment. Only problem is, I'm miles from my refrigerator.
  12. You can also click on "full list" from the drop down states list. Then on the right side of the page, you will see a search box asnd under that a "advanced" link. There you can search by state, city, country, etc.
  13. Cards are available in the VentureRider Merchandise area. Yes I do. They are in the VentureRider Merchandise area.
  14. We show one supporting member from Italy. simon111
  15. Yea, I was visiting a customer two weeks ago that has one of those. I sat on it and have to admit that it feels really good and looks great also. The price is a bit high for me though, especially considering that you are looking at about another $1,000.00 to add intercom and CB. I actually built one at the Victory site and it came to over $24,000.00 with the very few options that I felt I had to have. That did NOT include the CB/Intercom system so now it would be well over $25,000.00. Nice...but a bit out of my price range. Then it is still an air cooled and belt driven bike. For some here, one or both of those details are a deal killer.
  16. I may very well be confused on what you folks are talking about but isn't the spring in question an external spring? The OEM shock does not have an external spring so I don't see how that would be possible.
  17. Looks like a fun project and one that could end up being a real screamer. I will be interested to see how it progresses.
  18. Two other things come to mind that you can look for. Some of the trunk bottoms cracked on the '99 models. Open the trunk and lift up the rubber pad in the bottom and make sure it's not cracked. Yamaha came out with a fix that included large washers inside the trunk. It also included a rubber block between the bottom of the trunk and the chrome mount at the very rear of the trunk. If it has not been added then it is something that you will want to do but make sure it's not already broken. CB antennas were not very good on the '99 models. Yamaha changed them in 2000. The '99 was the only year that the antennas didn't fold. That is how you can tell if they are the original '99 antennas. The problem with them is that they got loose and didn't make good connection on the base. They have a black base that is a press fit onto a stud on the mounting arm. Mine got where I could twist them slightly and just pull them right off. Minor issue that is easily and fairly cheaply remedied with aftermarket antennas.
  19. Now now....don't go getting testy about it. You have to figure...how many people here even HAVE the 4-2-4 mufflers. I only know of a couple of sets myself and I don't think either of them are running different tips. It was a fair question but I'm not completely surprised that nobody had an answer. So, you are the tester now. I hope you will report back on what you find.
  20. I think the confusion is regarding "heavy duty". They obviously have a shock for the Venture but he was looking for a heavy duty model.
  21. No, I can't say that I've ever had that issue but I learned many years ago about greasing the pins in the hub. As for the alignment, like Kent said, if the axle doesn't slide in easily then you need the alignment. I've never had any problem sliding my axle in or out. I did check that alignment one time just to do it but wasn't actually having an issue. Once it is done, there will likely be no reason to ever do it again unless you pull the drive shaft and then need to re-align it.
  22. Wally, you need to explore a bit. That has been posted here since 2006. It is good to bring it back up though. Glad you got it all resolved. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1705
  23. It could be a tough one to track down. I hate intermittent issues like that. I've seen it happen, but rarely, when the lean angle sensor caused that exact problem. I had a friend that went through that and it took a long time and several dealers to finally identify the problem. As stated though, it could be the ignition switch. When it quits and won't start, do all the dash lights and indicators still work?
  24. Due to those problems, I have moved the classifieds to the forum. They are all listed at the bottom part of the discussion forum. All the new areas, including "Member Vendors" have been created. It is now just a matter of our members getting their ads re-posted to the new sections.
  25. OK folks, due to continuing issues with our classifieds section, I am going to see how it works by doing away with the separate classifieds area and creating forum areas for our classifieds. I have already created the new forums and you'll see them if you scroll down on the home page of the forum. There are positives and negatives to moving them to the forum. Positives: Possibly more exposure for the ads. Better integration with the forum software. Will put an end to headaches that the present system is causing me with ads mysteriously going away, being marked sold, etc. Negatives: No integrated "buy now" button. PayPal and/or payment info will have to be worked out through contact with the seller. No option to "renew" an ad. They are set to expire in 60 days and then if your item hasn't sold, you will just have to replace your ad. No "miles from me" indication but most complained that the feature didn't work anyway. So, we'll see how it works out and go from there. I will leave the current classifieds open for a few days. If you have items or an item for sale in the classifieds, please take the time to add it to the new area as your existing add will be gone in a few days.
