  1. We went out and did some hills and had great scenery, but the colors are just starting to come,,,,maybe better in 2 weeks,,, but then maybe tooo late,,,we'll see how it pans out,,,, put on about 200 km.. was a bit cool at times,,, Marca was warmer than meself,,, but as time went on, I was warmer than she.
  2. It should be open \ is open,,,,,,,but you never know, we've been known to change our minds on occassion, we may show up yet,,,,,,,but not likely.
  3. Looks like we are pulling out of this one, high of 10 on Sat and 9 on Sunday, with some chance of rain,,,,,,,maybe sorry later, but at this point we find that it's not going to be enjoyable,,,,,,endurable maybe,,,,,,if we had to maybe,,,,,,,but to enjoy the ride, very questionable. Was sooooo looking forward to seeing the colors, riding with good company for the weekend and just being out and away, but maybe soon again. For those of you who are going,,,,,,,,ENJOY!!!!!!!!
  4. Didn't much care for the sound of the mufflers,,, guess Harley will never build one,,,,,,,,,,,,now if it had a CD player????????????
  5. If you do end up with some rough spots, use corn starch to put back an awesome shine,,,,,,,careful though, you might have to do the whole bike to get it to all look so nice.
  6. I believe it's called a COFFEE cup?????????? but then what do I know, I don't drink and ride,,,,,,,I find that's another good excuse to stop and go p.
  7. Looks to me like he's the picture teacher,,,,they teach the early grades I think,,,,,maybe someday we'll have him graduate to words,,, then we can all understand what he's saying:rotf:
  8. Interesting scooter,,,not a bad price,,,,,,,,second gear about to go,,,,,,,only got to see the right side,,,,,,,,,,looks good for starters though,,,,,,shines real nice.
  9. How long do we have to wait???????????? the full nine months or is the news allowed out before that,,,,, say when it can no longer be hidden.
  10. A few years ago, the Durham OPP wanted to do a test with deer whistles. They had the stats from the year before, how many miles were logged and how many deer were hit. So that year they installed whistles on 1\2 their cruisers, and the deer encounters were cut to 25% with the cruisers with the deer whistles as opposed to the ones without. The next year all cruisers received the treatment and the deer encounters did do the nose dive, so they all have deer whistles now. Does it make one immune to deer or other wildlife?????? don't think so,,,,but anything that helps for such a small cost is worth the effort. I have 2 on my scoot and will keep them there. When wild animals are alerted, or scared they will mostly retreat they way they came to that location in the first place, not always, but mostly, if that means across the road, that's the way they're going,,,,,mostly. Just because you have whistles, bayonets, shot guns, or bad looks, it does not mean that somewhere, sometime, somehow, you might not hit a moose or deer, and it only takes one to put you down and out.
  11. I just used some stainless flat bar, about 2.5" by about 8". I thought I posted some pictures but can't find them now, so I'll repost them. It did raise the trunk a little, but I don't notice it, nobody has commented on it, it is more comfortable for the passenger, and it looks good.
  12. About time somebody thunk something up over there, here I was beginning to think that nobody out there had any vision or fortitude to get out and plan a something.. Good Going,,,,,Hope it works out.
  13. I would suggest a back rest for a daddie's bike,,,,now if you rode a 1st gen, even though the years may say something different, you would feel young enough not to even have to think of one. But that's only my opinion,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  14. I just got home from a great meal and a 3 hour ride,,,,,,,didn't think it was this cold yet,,but my brain must be freezing up or else my stomach is causing a short circuit of blood flow,,,maybe I just got a bit of mysteriosos.
  15. It must be in the translation:thumbsup2:
  16. Too many plugs to change,,,wouldn't even think of it,,,and all the noise, would scare the crap out of myself everytime I cranked on the throttle.
  17. Most likely the buttons need to be cleaned, so take out the radio, remove the face so that you can get under the buttons and give them a cleaning. Everyone needs a bath now and then.
  18. When you try to lift the front?????????the compression is defiantly higher on the 1200, makes them cheeks pucker so tight there ain't no squeeze left. Talk about compression,,,,,,,WOW.
  19. Ah come on, was just trying to let you see what the real Onatrio is all about, and give you some practise for the upcoming adVenture. We spent our vaction in that land where we are headed, and if you just happen to miss a turn, you'd better be able to ride'em cowboy.
  20. Don't know if I can do it, but I could try,,,,,,,,,,
  21. It's a well know fact, and for safety's sake, does not need to be proven again, but if you must, you will discover that the older the bird, the faster she flies. Colour does have something to do with it at times, but it's the color of the scoot, not the rider, or the adornment of the rider. Rider mass may also have a slight impact, although skill will play a major role in the ulimate outcome. This has all been discovered by all those who have riden Ventures and other scoots in the past,,much to the dismay of the 'other' riders. There is no doubt in my mind that such a endeavor will once agian be attempted in the future that lies ahead, and that one day, some lucky rider will find him, or herself with a Venture on their tail rather than in their forward sight line,,, but then that will mostly likely be attributed to a low tire, poor grip on the pavement, bad treads or maybe even a low battery.
  22. You will still have to start with #2 being the base carb, seeing as there is no adjustment on # 2 other than the throttle screw,,which will adjust all carbs at once. So it's the same sequence: # 1 to #2 # 3 to #4 # 4 to #2 #1 is left rear #2 is left front #3 is right rear so #4 has to be right front It will also remain very important to make sure that the RPMs reamian very constant from cylinder to cylinder.
  23. Ride it without the Class,,, unless you are over 250lbs shouldn't be a big deal. Do remember that it only works in the ACC postion on the key and it takes time to read and display.
  24. Best off living in Brantford, we had a good breeze, some wet stuff, but not really anything to measure, and the power is still on. Gets cloudy sometimes and then we worry, occasionally the rain starts and the drive-way gets wet and then we head for cover, when it snows,,,,,,can't really say what we do,,,,,,,can't remember.
