I'm in total agreement with you on all points.

I learned about the kill switch in a wierd way. A buddy took my bike for a short test ride. After he left I tried to pull it into the driveway. Nothing. Zip. Dead!! Found out later my buddy always used the kill switch when he stopped instead of the key. Now I've hit is so many times that it is just instinctive to check it whenever the bike balks or sputters while riding.

I can pretty well handle any constant wind, sideways or front/back. It's the gusting winds that often try to throw me for a loop. I often adjust which track I'm riding in by which way the wind is blowing. A sudden gust can take me half way across a lane and if you're riding the center line or edge of road, that can be big trouble.

Like he said, they rarely come up for sale and often they are in bad condition. I believe the last one I saw went for somewhere in the neighborhood of $175 and was in pretty poor shape.

Because it's a lot easier than making the real ones stay still!!:rotf: Seriously though, before everybody rode bikes, I had one just so the little ones in the cars I passed didn't think they were in danger from the big bad biker. People seemed to think I must be safe if I had a big Scooby Doo on my luggage rack.

I bought a Walmart car seat cover and cut it to fit my bike. Tried it a few times and tossed it. Didn't enjoy 400 bumps under my backside. The sheepskin covers are much nicer. Wildhare gave Eck a cheap alternative, but I don't remember much about it.

Glad you like my bike. I just think it has such sweet lines and runs so well. I just really don't want another ride. Of course, you already know that since you have two of them.

Enjoy it, you deserve it. :thumbsup2:

Bet the AMA instructor didn't cover that in the "Front End Wheelies" chapter in his book. The guy just went from "Wow" to "Pow" in a milisecond. That is gonna hurt.

Thanks for the Good News. Keep us posted as you can and we will keep you both in our prayers.

Thanks for all the really nic pics. I had to go to my son's wedding in Portland instead of doing fun stuff like this. It's much like I suspected, lots of food, drinks, yacking, relaxing and hot tubs. I couldn't find a single wrench or screw driver in any of those pics. :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

A universal truth has been shared. Neighbors and spectators will always laugh when you go over. Good Neighbors and friends will alway help you get it back on two wheels.

Had a set of Yokohama on that didn't last a season, less than 8000 miles. Put the Avons on and probably have 4000 miles and can't see any wear to speak of. Even if the wear was comparable, the grip these tire provide along with the confidence that brings would be more than enough reason for me. I'll definitely buy more when I wear these out.

We are booked for Wednesday - Sunday. :cool10: Really looking forward to forward to it. Did anyone eat any of those "big" biscuits last year? We had to miss it and I said not again. Yeah Haaaaaa!!!

Congratulations Bill. Linda will look like a queen on her new "throne". Of course you'll still be the Court Jester.:rotf: Seriously though, very happy for both of you. ENJOY and we will see you at Eureka Springs!!!:cool10:

Thanks for the good info Cindi. I've had flag patches and pins and have just automatically put them on the left breast. Just lucky I guess.

I want to thank all of you for the posts. Lots of good thoughts and ideas shared. I'm sure my lounge chair is the best seat in my house, but I'm going to have to try it one time before I get too old to enjoy it....I suspect that will be a long time. My cable went off for about 30 minutes and I missed Tony Kannan and Sarah Fisher being knocked out of the race. Like someone else said, I would really like to see Sarah get the same opportunity as Danika. I think with the right ride and sponsorship, she would be a winner on the track as well as a fan favorite. Thanks for replying to the post. I don't post often, but knew some of you could offer first hand insight into "The Race"

Liked him when he started the "tent city" and like him now. He's got common sense on his side, something the ACLU will never have. Didn't he once lock up a whole line of federal prisoners to the fence because the Feds weren't paying the bills for them? :thumbsup2:

So far so good and right now I LOVE my bike again Glad you fell in love with your 1st gen again. I have Venoms on my '88 and have had good luck with them, but let us know how the Metzlers work out for you. I also love the grip and feel of the Venoms so if the Metzlers feel similar, that would be a plus.
