  1. Yes I do make a lift adapter for these year model Royal Stars. However it's strickly on a prepaid order as the demand is too low to stock them. I offer both the Standard and Freestanding models with removable legs. Check my ad here at VR for what they look like. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=1585&title=carbon-one-lift-standard-model-adapters&cat=7 http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2673&title=carbon-one-freestanding-lift-adapter&cat=7 Also pricing is the same as for the RSTD's & Ventures. Use my e-mail address -- lskeels@wowway.com -- to transfer the funds into my account at PayPal. Note in the comment section of Paypal what it's for. Larry
  2. Title says it all. So just which bolt is it? Larry
  3. I think the reason for the fitment problem has more to do with the Wolo not coming with the spacer that Stebel adds to their horn package. Even a few folks have gotten shorted on the spacer with the Stebel too thou. If I recall that black plastic spacer is about 1'2" thick . Larry
  4. Ain't that the truth. Whether we're getting the whole story or not it sadens me that the girl was treated this way. Larry
  5. Wishing nothing but the best to you Doc & Jean. As all have said do what needs done to get well first and foremost. You'll heal much quicker that way. Larry
  6. Yep they're ever so slowly converting to the 2nd gens. Riding the bikes is much better then working and repairing those antiques all the time hey? Seriously we have some members here who have some really nice 1 st gens. Ok Back to the subject on hand. Your order will go out 1st thing in the morning Condor. Thanks, Larry
  7. Glad to hear your parcel arrived safely. Hope Quickstep gets to feeling better soon . And of course you as well. Larry
  8. Bet that baby'd put a Boss Hoss to shame. What d'a think? Larry
  9. Well said Old Goat. Having lost my Bro-n-law a month ago and finding out today a past fellow worker and friend has passed on has been a wake up call for me too. Larry
  10. Side stand problem??? What side stand??? Larry OK I was being a smart a**. Sleeving it I think would be the best cure since being shouldered you'll never get the sloppyness out once it's worn. Then just use a full length bolt for full strenght thus avoiding the weak shouldered one.
  11. The radiator cap is under the tank thus you'll need to remove the tank to get to it. There is a remote overflow resevoir under the right side cover too. Larry
  12. Hijack here. Speaking of parcels has yours gotten to you yet Annie? Larry
  13. I added a 4 gal tank to my trike this past winter. Built it myself thou and used a electric fuel pump, a relay, a toggle switch, a pair of electric fuel shut offs, and a locking fuel cap & filler tube. I couldn't find a tank that would fit my Tri-Wing trike so just built my own. After seeing the price of Hannigans I'm sure glad I did. My electical set up will have the auxilary fuel tank switched on thru the relay and when on will turn off the stock fuel pump as well as block the stock tank fuel line. This way no fuel can bypass back into either tank depending on which one is currently being used. Larry
  14. The FF 3330 filter had the name Luber-Finer on the box. http://www.luberfiner.com/content/fuel-filters The G478 printed on the paper insert leads me to believe it may be a name branded filter that it's compared to. I just did a search on the G478 number. This filter is used on the Dodge Omni, Plymouth Horizon, Chevy S-10 ( 82-85 yrs), & some Chryslers. Not sure of the years for the Chrysler cars but it appears that this filter was widely used at one time.
  15. Today I was in an O'Reilly's store and checked on the Purolator filter F100 24. They didn't have one in stock but did have a Wix 33027 which is the equivalent of the Purolator filter. I bought it since I need to change out mine as well. It was tagged at the sum of $4 Larry Later today after pulling the factory filter and comparing it to the 33027 Wix I decided to check on other filters available. I ended up getting a FF3330 (G478) ( $4) from Auto Zone. Although the Wix filter would do the job I liked this one due to the fact that I can still secure it the the frame just like the factory filter was. I reused the rubber attachment from the old filter and slipped it on the FF 3330 one. Note: my bike has 34k on it and the stock filter still worked good thou I could tell it was begining to get restricted. Blowing by mouth thru it and comparing that to either of the new ones I could feel the restriction. Maybe 25% - 30% more restriction than a new filter.
  16. The Valks always were one of my alltime favorite bikes, especialy the Interstate model. If Honda had still made them when I bought my 05 Midnight it would of been a strong contender. Larry
  17. Yep going with 14 ga wire will make a big difference. I use 14 ga for the lead wire from the battery and to the horn from the relay. The others are 16 ga as there's no real load on the wiring from the horn button & ignition feed going to the #86 terminal of the relay. Larry
  18. Very good news Annie. Don't do nothing to mess up till ya get that contraption off. Then still be carefull. We don't want a relapse eh? Anyhow Glad to hear life is looking up for now. Larry
  19. Excellent set of rules to follow here. Safety is and should be #1 at all times regardless whether we're pulling trailers or not. I pretty much just drive what the speed limits call for, sometime maybe 5 under. It all depends on the road type and amount of traffic I'm in. Always give yourself extra stopping room since you will increase stopping distance while pulling a trailer. Larry
  20. While not a Venture it sure looks sweet. Some amazing talent went into this build. Larry http://www.popsci.com/diy/article/2009-11/you-built-what-luxury-sidecar
  21. Saw B2Dad's wind blockers so ordered my set after getting home this past weekend. Looking forward to using them. I think I may well put them on now just to help keep rain off when getting caught in stoms. if heat becomes an issue then at least they come off easy enough. Larry
  22. Tri-Wing kits use a 3:42 gear ratio which puts it midway between the stock Rsv 3:02 ( I think?) & a V-max at 3:73. The difference is about 250 rpm at 70 mph with the 3:42 gearing as opposed to about 500 rpm of the V-max's. I've been told that the hannigan uses a 3:73 gearing as well thus matching the V-maxs ratio. Last summer coming back from the International rally with B2Dad on his Hannigan trike we would both fill up at the same time and consistanly he'd use about a 1/2 gal or a bit more fuel between stops than I did. Larry
  23. Wife and I have used Sterns nylon suits from Wally World for the past 8-9 years with excelent results. The keep you dry, fold up nicely, and are nicely priced compared to others. I think they currently run about $35. The only places I've ever gotten wet is around the cuffs and neck when I didn't put on the hood under my helmet. We've been caught in some pretty serious downpours over the years. Larry
  24. You could get any 7 1/2" for rear and the swap out the ring & pinion assembly. You will still have to re-shim the differential due to the thrust being backwards due to it being upside down/backwards.You'll have to reuse the shortened axles and the axle housing you now have is all. As to the drum brakes , while they did the job I've never been happy with their stopping power, especialy when I pulled my trailer, so last fall I swapped them out for discs. I used a set off a 96 Ford Crown Victoria. It had the correct axle bolt pattern and the backing plate slipped perfectly over the axle tube. The mounting holes were slightly off but by re-drilling they mounted up tight. I also had to replace the rear master cylinder as the stock one didn't push enough volume to properly expand the pistons. I did find that early Mustang rear discs would work, probably better, but weren't cost effective. Salvage yards thought they were made of gold. Now the brakes are excellent. Larry
