  1. Wife called Oberlin Inn today to access the room situation. She was told that they were sending us a letter cancelling our reservations. We are now booked at the Comfort Inn. Looks like there'll soon be a bunch more of us VR members switching lodging for Don's MD. Larry BTW: Comfort Inn was actually cheaper for the 2 nights we booked with them over Oberlins price.
  2. Looks great Jonesy. Larry
  3. All the damage to the trike and trailer makes me think either he or someone else sideswiped the rig. Those are tall trailers and while not a factor for that trike it could be for a bike. Also you need to know just what it weighs. Could well be a bit much for a bike there. Research it well and if it still apeals to you then make a offer but be prepaired to do some bodywork & chrome replacing. Larry
  4. Those pics bring a smile to ones face. Thanks for sharing Larry
  5. WOW that's certainly some scheduale you'll have next week Bob. Have fun and we're looking forward to seeing the ride after it's transformation. Larry
  6. Nice find. I like this one, as you say it's easy as pie. Pefect for just reizing those pics we want to post on the site , etc. Larry
  7. Spent 30 years as a wrench for county at the two airports they operated. Worked on everything from chainsaws to firetrucks. If it had a motor we got it in the shop if it needed fixing. And sometimes stuff with out motors that needed welding or fabricating. After retiring from county I spent another 10 years as a golf course tech for two golf courses maintaining all of their equipment as needed. Was Michigan state certified as a master tech in both auto & heavy trucks in all categories except auto trans and ac. Gave up the license when I finally retired full time. Now just working on personal stuff and fabricating things for the bikes we ride. Larry
  8. 1" crash bars on the RSV
  9. Ok I built up an additional 24 pairs of the braces and have updated the ad from post 1. The following folks who requested to be on the short list have dibs: YamaDuck, Skid, Mike Wa, Red Rider, Kite Squid, divey, jvbailey3, ruffy, FreezyRider, rdhc, Ga Thumper,. Did I miss anyone? Larry
  10. Yep this is the one that'll fit best. Got one mounted in my trailer if it's ever needed Larry
  11. I've had my Stebel horn for over 3 years now and it's still working perfectly. I did put a Wolo horn on the wife's car 2 years ago and so far it's also working as it should be. But then that one is in a more protected environment. Larry
  12. My garage is fairly small so besides the air outlet next to my upright compressor I ran a 3/8" plastic air line off a T from the compressor and ran it to the center of the garage ceiling. Then mounted a retractable reel. If I need to reach further than either hose I have a couple of 25ft extensions. Larry
  13. Wiring was pretty staight forward with the unit I recieved. You cut the wires going to the sensor and then splice in the unit. Half of the wires go to the speedo and other half to the sensor. Don't recall if there was a brand name on the unit. Larry
  14. Jonesy you could do what I did with the mufflers. I cut out a 5 1/2" section to shorten them. Cut them at the seam up front, another cut 5 1/2" forward and then welded them back together. They look and sound great. Slightly louder than stock but quiter than RK's. They stick out about 4 - 4 1/2" past the body this way. After welding them I painted the weld with some silver metalic paint I had on hand. Looks like original and hasn't rusted in the two years it's been done. Larry
  15. I just ran into this issue after replacing my pc desktop which came with Windows7. After trying a couple programs I installed this one -- http://www.irfanview.com/ Best of all it's free and will work with any Windows program as far as I know. Also I just posted up this topic and the guys had plenty of info on pic resizer programs -- http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46324 Larry
  16. If you live that long. Hahahaha Seriously once you got the hang of the process I think you'd have a ready market amongst these folks here for all of that safety chrome everyone loves to have. I bet you'd not only recoup your equipment and material investment, the silicone backrests would be forthcoming as well. Good luck, Larry
  17. No it won't defeat the crash bars purpose as they'll still bend back and fold up the footrests. I speak from experience here, unfortunately . What happens without the braces is the crash bar would fold closer to the engine. The braces cause them to fold more in the middle. Even then when I went down the braces still got bent so it's not like they're totally rigid. These braces will do more good IMO to saving the lowers from flexing when using footrests and cracking them. Also I like have the footrests staying firm rather then moving when I put preassure on them. Like when stretching sometimes. Larry
  18. I'll try this one for a while. Looks simple and easy enough to use. And ya it works good on Windows 7. Thanks guys. Larry
  19. Anyone know of a free pic resizing program for Windows 7? Can those used in XP & Vista be used on Windows 7? Larry
  20. I'll deffinately be building more then just 6 sets as I did earlier. I'll post back here and on an ad when they're ready again. Larry
  21. Well folks looks like I'll need to build up a few more of these braces. I sold the 6 listed within about a 3 hr time period. Wow. Thanks for the response guys. Larry
  22. Nothing wrong with your eyes yet Patrick. There is a slight bend in the right side as it looked in the pics. I did that to better clear where it passes over the footrest bracket.
  23. Good question and one I hadn't mentioned yet. Brain fart!!!You'll need to purchase a set of clamps for 1" crash bars and with a 1/2" hole. I'll post an edited update on my original post after sending this. Larry
  24. Yep these are 2nd gen items. If you want a set you gotta get the bike first. Sorry couldn't resist. Larry
