  1. Does the settlement include those aweful fees? But, I guess at long last that part is done.
  2. A good map for directions to the beer fridge! Sorry.....not much help...eh. Gots a question though. We are planning on bringing our kids again. They enjoyed last year in Kitchener. Is there anything nearby that they can hang out and play. While the kids( 11 and 16) only went once to the waterslide park in Kitchener, it was a nice break for them.
  3. Thanks for the update....we are all standing by to cheer when gets his due! Of course that will be nothing compared to what awaits him when he meets his maker!
  4. Sure glad no one was hurt more than they were. Good gear saved our friend BigBob when he crashed in Sept. too.
  5. Try this link. For easier slow speed handling most have actually raised the rear end a little. This changes the rake I believe and makes it better at slow speeds. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=123

  7. Great find...congrats....let the chroming begin! Ebay has saddlebag guard rails right now for 146 plus shipping....great price.
  8. Sure sounds like he may either not know or is trying to set you up. The bike is covered completely for 5 years from the time it is first put in service. Mileage is no concern either.
  9. Thanks Russell. I remember each and every day....our fallen who have given their all for us. I remember each and everyday...those that are still in harms way...giving their all....again for us. I make sure my kids remember these things as well.
  10. Have a nibble for me would ya.....our ice cream runs are done for the year.
  11. Plexis is great stuff. Lemon pledge works.....dont use anything like windex as it eats the thin layer that covers the windshield and makes it cloudy.
  12. That was good of you to let Bill ride your bike.....what a group. But I am afraid you may have tainted a 1st genner into thinking he wants a 2nd gen now! How did he like the bike?
  13. Nice...congrats...and that last part got me too!
  14. I could not see throught the large windshield either. I got a smaller one that I could see over without straining. I also have a shield on my helmet and find it works wonders. I've been caught without the thing and couldnt see squat with my glasses on. Keep the shields polished so that the water beads off easier helps too.
  15. I got both our bikes put away on the 5th and it snowed on the 6th! Good timing for sure. Now they sit in the shed for the next 5-6 months. This year I will remember to charge the batterys every month even though I have them inside on the bench.
  16. Nope....but he got ya for sure!

  18. Sorry to hear about the dump and glad that she is gonna be ok. It sounds like she is taking things pretty good and banging your head around too much! It sounds like she understands that these things happen sometimes.
  19. What a great way to spend some time with the young fella. He sure looks pleased with it all! Very nice scenary too! Our daughter is 11 and loves to ride...either with Mom or with Dad or even Hal! She will fall asleep on any bike with any driver!! She and her 15 year old brother endured the trip from here to Kitchener this summer and are now seriously talking about coming with us next summer to Arkansas!
  20. First of all...they are a nice bike and you would enjoy it very much. The price may seem high for our US friends...but they have a differant market...our bikes in Canada are more costly than theirs. So without knowing what the usual market is for touring bikes, I couldnt say if thats a good price or not. For here...its not bad. Now for some things to look for. Second gear is known to go-you can test it by driving it and getting on the gas hard while in second....if it pops out then the second gear is gone. 83's had weak point at the lower frame around the center stand area. They have been known to break but are easily fixed or the area built up by a good welder. My first 83 was new when I bought it.....I had the stator burn out after about 8000km and the water pump impeller also went (made of plastic and replaced with a metal one) The other stuff like air suspension may give errors but this is also a easy fix. Normal stress cracks around the trunk or other plastic areas can be easily repaired. The motors are the best part of these bikes and are basically still the same even in the newest Ventures....great longevity with proper maintanance. I cant think of anything else right now.
  21. Yeppers....and I have read yours a couple of times and enjoyed the trip stories. Hows the boss doing?
  22. Cant help regarding a dealer...but we are sure glad your daughter is ok. Pass on our venture good wishes to her.
  23. Front passing lights....dont forget those and the rear harley light set up. Its reasonably priced and looks good and functionable as all get out. Lights and lots of them are important.
  24. Good story Jeff and we are real glad you are telling it! Scary for sure. The tire....well what are ya gonna do....carry vasoline so it dont hurt so much when they give it to you! You are caught by the shorts for sure. I paid over 500 hundred for new tires at Sturgis one year....actually 200 for the tires and 300 for the installation. You did good riding it to a stand up stop...many havent.
  25. That is a heck of a deal for a canadian bike Rick....congrats. You will need the good money left over for chrome. I would truly suggest you buy from either texas yamaha sport center or seattle sport center. They have the best prices I;ve ever seen for chrome parts for our bikes.
