  1. No, no, its not a dual wide mobile home. I converted our barn to a house after Tom left us. I thought the boys would move in, but they have not come back home....yet...so, there it sits. All pretty and brand new....waiting for some visitors needing a warm, peaceful and cozy bed to lay their tired heads on! You can still come by to visit, even if you dont need a bed to sleep for the night! give me hollar!
  2. Well, were on 2 acres, we might be able to park the space shuttle...it will be tight...for sure the trailer! Please come and visit! You won't be sorry! (wow, a space shuttle in my driveway! SWEET!)
  3. I am extending the use of our 'cottage' behind our home, on our two acres in Galt, California. It is currently unoccupied. There are two rooms, 1 has a double size bed and the other a single size bed. Plus, the futon in the living room folds down to a queen size bed. There is a small kitchen. And of course, a bathroom with bathtub and shower. BIll and I would love to have any one here on the site stay the night to rest your head or even stay the weekend, if you would like. Were 30 miles south of Sacramento. Feel free to contact Sherry or Bill Jarrett my email is byfaithigo@sbcglobal.net and Bill can be reached at hydrowillie@hotmail.com. we check our emails go right to our blackberry. You can give us advance notice, or even just check on short notice. We would love to share what we have with this venture rider family.
  4. Things are going very well with BIll and I. I was off work for a year, but am back now part time. Dealing with headaches and arm pain from my arthritis. But, Bill and I get along wonderful. The boys like him and he is good to them. Helps them with their cars and such things like that. He takes really good care of our 2 acres and even gets up and makes me breakfast and lunch on the days I work. He has his own business dealing with fluid and fuel systems. Just finshed a large system he shipped back the NEw york. I miss riding, did I mention I missed riding? Oh, ya, I guess I did...
  5. You know life is odd in that virtually anyone, anywhere can be trained to fill your shoes at work. But, it doesn't work that way in our personal relationships. No one can replace us. Once you loose your mom, your dad, your child, your spouse, that life is no more. Gone. Only touchable with your mind. I have such a poor memory, that I "practice" remembering Tom. We plan to go out to Chevy's on the 30th to talk about dad and how wonderful he was. I hope to come home and look at a few old movies we have. My youngest son, Randy (who is at boarding school right now, and happy I might ad) has his first GF. Her mom took the kids on a hike and took pictures. She posted them on her FB page and it was so sweet. How I wish Tom could see his son holding hands with a girl, and smiling, like only a man can, at his catch. My son is becoming a man and I must embrace and watch it for Tom and I both. He has his daddy's dimples, and I hear his dad's compassionate and tender heart. Thanks for letting me share with you....btw...I am going to greenville texas in June for a week. Going to see Tom's daughter and her family. Randy and Bill are going with me. Funny, I use to hate to go to Texas. Now, I ache to reach and and touch all that Tom heald so dear, his kids, his Bible, and I wish I could touch that old red devil and his blue venture machine again.....ahhh...memories...
  6. Dear Tom E, I am sharing my thoughts and feelings with your old venture rider family. I spent yesterday driving on a quilt shop hop. All by myself. Drove over the freeway where i drove my first adventure on the "red devil", then ended up driving back home over the pavement where you rode the red devil home. I passed the shop where we gave the man the money for the bike. Up behind the shop was the Burger King where I laid that bike down. Damaged my knee...you were so worried about me. Little did we know that bike would be the last time you knew life, on it is where your life ended. Where our happy, loving union knew no more. Your life as a fantastic husband, lover and best firend; great and loving dad quit. The memories flooded me as I drove. I passed MC, enjoying the warm, sunny day. I passed green hills. Oh how you loved the california green hills. I mourned you last night, I cried a lot. I miss you, I miss riding, I love you and continue to relive my memories of you. April 30th. Thank you for the love you gave me. It was so good, thank you Tom E. LIfe moves on without you. God is taking care of me, as are Bill and the boys. Your sassy, your sherry, your love...
  7. My heart and soul hang heavy. This is a saddness I know all too well. Prayers and thoughts to the family.
  8. Did you have a good time? How was it? Update!
  9. Happiest 2010! Life is good. God is great. I have missed being on the site. Hope to check in more often. Happily married. My 2 oldest are in college and living together in stockton. My youngest in at boarding school in Santa Cruz on the California coast. He loves it. I am in school at UOP, trying to get my masters. Transferred to a UM/DCP job at Kaiser in Sacramento. No, I have not been riding....My new husband, Bill, is very respectful of Tom's memory. He is very good to the boys. I thank God for it all. Smiles and hugs to my venture rider family! Hey, if anyone is passing down HWY 99 and needs a place to sleep, we usually have lots of empty beds these days...please call me. Stop and rest awhile before you journey on....we would love to have you...
  10. That is ONE sweet looking bike! What a great job you did.
  11. Ok. Its a wedding. Yep. Sherry Patterson and Bill Jarrett. June 28th. 11am. Galt, california. Outside wedding at a friends house. EVERYONE and ANYONE is invited. Just email me and I will gladly give you an address. There will be lunch after we get to have a big kiss and all... We are headed to N. Dakota (or is it S. Dakota?) June 30th, checking out Mt Rushmore (I have always wanted to see that), then driving down to Estes Park, CO. flying home July 9th. Bill is moving into my cottage in the back till the wedding. We have ROOM for anyone who wants to visit (after July 9th) and needs a place to crash around Sacramento, once he vacates the cottage. Just Hollar. Or you can use the cell phone/home phone, that works too.
  12. OK, green tea frappachino's cost more that coffee, this site is great, it made Tom Patterson VERY happy and Don Nelson is just plain wonderful. I dont know how to use Pay Pal, never used it my whole died blonde life, but I bit the bullet and paid up. Paid extra for green tea and Tom. God Bless you and keep you, Don.
  13. So your not sure about the tie? Ahh, that was our special valentines dinner at Elephant bar...we got all spiffed up...he rides, but will not be any more at this time due to the lost I went through 2 years ago. We ARE talking trike...maybe...someday...Two old farts on a trike..SWEET!
  14. My dear MC family God has shown his face on me and brought the most wonderful man into my life (even if he does ride a Goldwing...it pained me to tell you that...). I met him last Nov. Bill Jarrett of Sebastopol, California. He is kind, gentle, funny, sweet and very strong. Very much, a manly man. We planning to sign the dotted line and whisper sweet " I Do's" on June 28th in our backyard here in Galt. The boys really like him, especially Randy, my youngest. He treats my kids with respect and is sentsitive to what the loss they have been through. Thanks for all your prayers, support and sweet words of kindness to me. What say you about a honeymoon? Estes Park, Colorado or Alaskan cruise?
  15. How much cuter does that get? too sweet! Pink! I love PINK! Younger and younger drivers, older and older pedestrians...ahh, shoot. Dang nabit! Thanks for sharing! It gave me a warm and happy smile!
