  1. Congrats James! Hope you love your new bike...they are nice indeed. The risers are right up my alley, I need them.
  2. You might notice that one side wears out faster than the other. I dont know why...someone here will though. Just keep an eye on the next set and swap em around when you notice one side thinner than the other. You may get more mileage outta them that way.
  3. I talked to Bob at lunch today, he sounded great but tired easily. It was great to hear his voice again! He said he should be transferred to Regina tomorrow. That is just a tad closer to us, but farther for the Winnipeg gang.
  4. Or what! Sounds like a nice bike and I'm betting the air system just needs the boards resoldered to make it work right. As for driving it without air....hmmmm that might be interesting. And nope you cant adjust unless you have the system working. Remember it only works with the key on ACC position. If you are seeing a "E"2 error you could first unplug the thing from under the panel and replug it in. That panel just flips up and you will see were its plugged together. That might work to get you home. Be patient...and dont hit the adjust buttoms too soon. It takes a moment or two to switch to each setting. Adjust from the center stand.
  5. Man what rotten luck! I am sure glad it wasnt worse though. What broke your foot?? The bike falling on it..dumb question I guess.
  6. Lots of posts on tires if you scroll down some you will see others. If the stocks you have on are bridgestone...they are probably the most despised tires most folks here have ever used. Dunlops arent bad. Make sure your tire pressures are what they should be according to the tire. Lots like the Avon....metzlers seem to be chunking on alot of bikes (rsvs) and arent recommended. Keep reading and make your own descision based on the experience from many others.
  7. Last night we received a voice mail report from Tom. It was great to hear Bob is getting much better. I knew they were going down Sunday and wished I could be there. We were at my nephews wedding in Winnipeg over the week-end. Thanks for the report Jo. BTW, I never did get an email to send the pics we had.
  8. And its a 5 amp. Had mine blow in Kitchner because I was using a air pump to blow up air mattresses. Funny thing....the acc. plug I put on the wifes vstar didnt blow under the load.
  9. Talent is something I lack..... you guys took it all! Nice job!
  10. Thats ok! When I was driving my new to me bike home from Atlanta last year...I couldnt figure out this little yellow light that came on at around the 140 mile mark! It kinda worried me some until it dawned on me that it was the gas warning! The Po told me that the trip meter would reset to 0 when the gas was low and I would have to change over to reserve right away to prevent it from running out before I knew it, never did mention the little light.
  11. And I got both of ours from Ebay. If thats they way you want to go just enter the venture section from here and there are a couple of differant places that sells covers. For me the closet place to buy was Canadian Tire and it was close to 80 bucks....just a little too steep for me when I could get one for half the price and a little better as well off of ebay.
  12. We are sorry to have missed you guys, Larry. We all wanted to be there for Friday because we know how things go. Lots of folks head out the Sunday...normal. It was kind of mixed feelings going for our ride Sunday...but I guess someone was right....we did need it. Next time....
  13. My heart is doing a little dance tonight. Most of the despair is fading a little more each day the news is good. This is the best of all. Marilyn told me she talked to Wayne(Duke) from Winnipeg and he said that he talked with Bob today! I will try and call if I may. Johanne...I have 4 pics we took of the bike and trailer. They are not real close ups but I can send them to you if you wish. Just get me a email addy. Ours is mrreimer@westman.wave.ca
  14. Man that must of been a scare for both of you! Thank goodness the tests came out for the best after all!
  15. All the best to you Charlene...take advantage of the down time...relax and enjoy being kept!
  16. Our thoughts are with you all as you weather the storm! As mentioned earlier...let us know whats up once you can.
  17. Wow.....hard to explain that behaviour from that Mom! As if you guys havent been through enough. I just sit here shaking my head at it all.....you guys are hanging in there through some very tough times.....we are all rooting and thinking only good thoughts for you.
  18. I found the problem under the seat. I unplugged all connections in the fairing first with no success. Then went under the seat and unplugged that ...some dielectric grease and no problems since. That was last year.
  19. I couldnt ask for better news myself! That is great Johanne! Say hello to him for us. At least one of us will be able to come see him when he gets moved....likely next week. Tell him Gord and Laura say hello as well.
  20. Congrats Gary! And all the best to Matt and his fiance!
