  2. Good catch Obber! I didnt look at the thing either...just commenting without seeing.
  3. Dont know much about the laser detecter...but here they used to beat the radar by asking the PO if the radar gun was tuned that day and if he was certified (some werent/arent). Also if the LEO didnt appear in court the case was dismissed. But thats Canada and things are much differant of course. I have heard that the laser is very accurate and able to pin point a single vehicle in a crowd....uses a very narrow beam I presume.
  4. Ya, I figured that. Never easy is it. Guess I am going to have to wait....lets see...about 10 years before I get a new bike...by then I will be too wobbly to hold up these things and be riding a vstar or triking.
  5. I gotcha...if you do decide on new dont buy it in Canada! 188 bucks at Yamahasportscenter Texas or the yamahasport center in seattle. Watch shipping though...you dont want anything shipped fedex or UPS as you will pay huge brokerage fees. USPS is the best. That thing is flimsy at best the way it sits and you may be able to bend it (gently) with your foot, but be careful not to crack the cowling. Once done put the brace on and be done with it.
  6. Andrew Is your "bent" one totally done, caput, finished? If not then you can put the recommended mod on it to make it more solid. See this link in the tech section. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25147 Oh...I've not heard anything bad about Pinwall...so I cant offer any more than that.
  7. God....thats an awesome power-plant! Squeeze...could you start figuring out how to put that motor in the current model RSV's...please..... once that thing hits the road, unfortunately it wont take long for salvage motors to come on line!
  8. Great news! Now for the healing and rehab. Sounds like she is a tough lady....we are wishing her well.
  9. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=939 There ya go.
  10. 10 DIAPHRAGM ASSY 1FK-14940-09-00 (replaces 1FK-14940-00-00) From flatout motorcycle - 73 bucks and change ea.
  11. Couldnt agree more! Sometimes we all just want a down day to snoop around shops etc.
  12. I will ask Marilyn...but as she rides her own bike she mostly enjoys the riding and comardarie associated with that.
  13. If you really meant it when you said September I would make sure you have some warm clothes. It can and does get cool at the higher elevations. You may even run into snow in the high mountain roads. Yellowstone is a great park to ride through but you will need the whole day at least. We were there for 4 days and still didnt think we saw it all! All in all though that sure sounds like a great trip!
  14. Don...wallymart doesnt carry it in Canada that I've seen so far. I visit the US alot and always stock up or my bud from the US will bring some up for us a couple times per year. Midicat...living so close to the border...have you tried to get it across the line? It's probably not worth it as a destination trip but if you happen to be over for something else that would be a good time to stock up. I also buy my sythentic oil and filters across the line at wallymart....costs about half as much as here for the same stuff! Yes, we get hosed on all sorts of things up here.
  15. Our thoughts and prayers for your in-laws.
  16. The man can sure pack a bike cant he! Just a little like looking at efishinc rolling in....eh Charlie!
  17. You could ask Rick H at buckeyeperformance what you need for this rebuild. He supplies anything you would need and knows his stuff as well.
  18. Roh roh! I read this way too late as usual! Can I get on the Canadian list please! Marilyn has a ladies version that came with her bike.....maybe we have something else we can work on with that one. I have no idea what the differances would be.
  19. Sharp looking bike there...
