-
Thanks Buddy! I will let my bud in Winnipeg know this info and maybe he can work something out as I know they like to camp.
-
Ok Now the real important question....are there any left for sale? I would sure like to have some on hand so to speak for just these types of emergencies...if ya get my drift.
-

Hey Brian Thats a pretty good price for Manitoba. Not a bad deal at all. Manitoba resale rates are nuts. That 93 would be a bargain. I have often thought of buying from our friends south and then reselling here. But, my ethics would not allow me to take advantage of fellow site members that way. When I sold my 89....I wont say what I got for it....but lets say it didnt cost me anything to run other than maintainence for the 3 years I had it. But the guy did get a matching trailer as well.

Are there any left out there somewhere? Marilyn and I received one each from tessac2 (Pete) last and just love em....thanks again Pete! Marilyn lost hers somewhere on the road to Kitchener and I would like to get her another one. It would be a surprise so please dont PM me as that would appear on our email and she reads those....but seldom if never reads anything on our site here. Of course all financial things would be taken care of by me. Thanks

Back rest pics

Hmmm...I think there are a couple of models of backrests out there. What kind do you have Dale? Is it the venture line or does yours go right into the seat? Can you post a pic of what you have. Someone can talk you through it then. -
Gets them mad when you hit em! Had one run in front of me on our way to Kitchener...but the beast was far enough away that gentle braking was all that was required....that and a very wide cut line from the highway to the bush.....made it easy to see it early.

Would the ones from diamondraccessories work for the rstd? If not go to valueaccessories and look up the armrests they sell. It bolts on to the mounting brackets of the back rest. Marilyn has those on her vstar and we mounted it so she can take it off in a matter of a minute without having to remove the bolts...just the nuts.

Teeeheeeheee....oops sorry hooter but thats a good one! But, as mentioned there would have been alot of things not done where not for the ventureranger!

You will enjoy that ride Lowell! Take time to talk to folks in the real small communities....you should both get a real laugh at each others accents! The folks are very very friendly there and pretty low key. Thats the smaller communities anyway. As mentioned clothing to fit riding in a coastal climate....cool at nights with possible fog in the AM's.

For a maintanence day may I suggest it be either the second or third day. We found after the 1400+ mile drive we needed a "down" day to sit around and bull. I (or should I say Gambler) worked on a small problem with my driving lights and I replaced blown acc. fuse. I was nice just to relax that day. I had brought my carb-tune but never used it, too busy trying to get that darn driving light working properly. You should see what a small tiny little nic in one wire can do to the rest of the lighting system! lol. Others went and took small rides in the area if they wanted.

Clunky Transmission

My 05 is a smooth shifter most of the time. The only time its bad is when the driver (me) does something. And it does get a little "rougher" at oil change time it seems. I use synthetic. -
Burned out headlight. You will hardly notice as it goes to high beam automatically I believe when the low beam burns out.

Here's my experiance with valueaccessories. Last year I ordered a set of armrests that bolt on to the back rest mounts of Marilyn's vstar. About 3 days later I get an email from them saying they made a mistake in the order. They had sent 2 right hand sides! They informed me that the left side was in the mail and profusely apologized for the mistake. The replacement actually arrived before the box with the two right side got here! I emailed them back, thanked them and asked how they wanted me to send the other right side back to them. They just told me to keep it for my troubles and maybe it would come to good use. So...good company in my opinion...you bet! Friesman is right though....I've made several purchases from newenough.....you cant go wrong there. Fast friendly and very reasonable. You got to go to their closeout section and bargain basement for the best deals.
