  1. This is my experiance with both. On my first gen I raved about the sheepskin and still would if I were riding that bike. On my sec gen I tried the sheepskin and it didnt offer the same comfort as with the first gen. I dont know why, maybe it was the seat design. Still got terrible tail bone ache. I bought cheap car seat beads in Colorado last year. I love em. No more tail bone ache. They are definately cooler on the bottom. Issues with the beads I have. I've got to cut them down...too big for the seat Makes funny indents in the seat that are not permanent. Catches alot of dust and small things under the seat so the seat appears very dirty when you take the beads off. They will scratch your tank if they rub against it too long. Other than that...no issues. Never really felt the "400" little bumps on my ample back side!
  2. Great news! Now for the healing to begin. It takes time and listening to the docs. I wanted to comment earlier but our docs here are not as knowledgable as yours are in many cases. I didnt want the wrong message to go out. My co-worker had his done a couple of years ago. He was off for 6 weeks and then restricted to light duties for a while after. But, as a supervisor he just had to make sure not to get into any scuffles at work. He had a tough time getting arm over shoulder and required some physio for that. But he is good a new now.
  3. Me too! Ordered a jacket for my bud on your Memorial Day Sunday. Item came in the following Wed. That is just over a week..snail mail. Great jacket. Not my first purchase from them and most definately not my last! This is the way things should be done.
  4. Atta boy...boys! Nice to have you guys taking care of things. Don can now dump a lot of work off on poor Goose!
  5. Mine is mounted just under the driver seat. It seems to be bolted in between the frame on the rear fender.
  6. Thanks for the update and keep em coming! News..good or bad ...we are always here for you.
  7. We are having much needed rain now. But, it has been the worst spring I've seen for a while. We are at least 10 C (20ish F) below the average for temp. I want hot!! Cold does the old joints no good nowadays!
  8. That is great news JT. All the best to both of you!
  9. Hinges maybe?? Sounds like something bent....open the locking mech and have a look...give it some grease and tighten the screws down...they do come loose and you wont get it open if a screw gets hung up in the mech.
  10. Good to hear from you Red! Have a great trip and all the best to your daughter. All you soldiers have our support for what you.
  11. Loose steering head will do this. Put her up on the center stand. Push handle bar over one way to the other the should go over and come back a little. Also sit down in front and pull on the wheel....it should be solid. See the tech articles in the 1st gen section tech section.
  12. Tire pressure listed on the tire is what you use. The bike listing is for the stock tire. Elite3's and Avon seem to be the most favorite ones here.
  13. Fuel filter maybe? Just a thought there.
  14. This is the one I ordered for my bud a couple of days ago...great deal. newenough closeouts...bargain basement http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/bargain_basement/cortech_by_tour_master/gx_air_mesh_motorcycle_jacket.html What a great price and they have up to 3x lge.
  15. Better start saving for the prom now! Congrats you guys! She is a cutie.
  16. Oh my....that could have been nasty! Good thing you checked it out, or it might have left a mark for sure!
  17. I was thinking that if mercury got anywhere near me and the bike....the bike would eat it long before I figured out how to stop it! Morgan was a no brainer for this "schmoe"...lol.
  18. Wahooo...good for her. Good guess there Gary! Too bad after all the money she spent on new TCI! Might as well hang on to it now though....ya never know!
  19. Sure do appreciate the efforts Goose. Good info makes it easier to make descisions. I tow a trailer about twice a year for distance. This will make a differance I am sure. I wonder how much sometimes. We will see. I am mounting the Avons I got from Autopilot this week-end. The metz that came with the bike are near done.
  20. Went out and checked the one I knew I had. It is only the front part...rear part is missing. And the red lens is busted. Probably not much good to him Ron.
  21. Color tune is for richness or leaness isnt it? Carbtune does the carbs to they are running in sync. (opening and closing together).
  22. Sounds like Dad is just a little proud too! Good for him Gary...all the best to Jeff in his new career. (even if I dont know physics from physicals!)
  23. Goose....thats the Morgan Carbtune Pro. Thats not mercury but stainless steel bars. I have one and it works great. We save about 90 bucks per bike for sync...thats what the dealer would charge us here! Yammer.....she was out just a little eh.
  24. :rotf:Well...now Goose are still saying he thinks alot like you? Ok, I got nothing! I could never be accused of being a genius....just your average everyday Schmoe...
  25. Like Goose, I've watched and not said anything. I still won't comment one way or the other. I do find it fascinating though.Lots of pros and cons. I would only ask/hope is that it can be kept "professional" and not get personal. Because once it gets too personal you are both going to lose alot and that then becomes a shame.
