Had a Avon 130 on the front. Changed to a Michelin 2 on the front size 130 also. Put dyna beads in, took weights OFF rim. Now the handlebar shake from side to side and not up and down. Had put the livening links in and had to take them too and it helped. Running 45 psi rear shock, and 5 lbs in the forks, and 40 psi in the front tire. Bead is even all the way away around the tire and is turning in the right direction. What could be causing the tire to shake side to side? also adjusted steering head barring. tew47

I purchased a 91 VR last fall and one day riding, I for some reason let go of the handle bar to do something. At around 40 mph I noticed a sight handle bar shake left & right. As my speed dropped to 35 the shake got much more excessive then by the time it go to 30 it was very violent to the point I almost lost control. Today on a short ride I thought I try the handle bar test thinking I might need to tighten the steering. Now I just installed progressive about 3 weeks ago. I let the handle bar go at about 45 mph and coasted down to about 10 mph with no shake. I was controlling the VR with just 1 finger on each grip and oh so very lightly just to keep the VR going straight.

My bike is handling very well since I put progressives and the Condor Brace on it. BUT.....today I noticed something I have never noticed before and I'm wondering if I have a problem or if it is normal. I was at a full stop. I gave the handle bars a "shake" back and forth...as if I was trying to shaking water off the front tire. Just very quick jerk to left and back to center. The front end felt like it "rebounded" As if I gave it a twist that went down the forks and then after I stopped, it came back up the forkss and gave a bit of an "echo" shake! Like I said....it's handling really well!!!!! Condor Brace is tight, neck bearing bounce test looks good....Not sure what else it could be? Is this normal??? -
Took her out for first time this year.Finally no SNOW!:happy65:Went out for just a short ride to shake out the cob webs.Man did it feel good!

i want to say thank you Don and ellene for makeing a newbie welcome. looks like i missed some of the wild stuff:confused07: i was there friday, saturday night left early sunday hmm should have stayed longer i guess? and thanks to all who came up to say hello and shake hands. sorry i guess i was just shy? i even said hello to mini and no reply??? hmmm and same with boomer????. guess im going to have to check my pits i guess??

If memory serves me right, there was a problem with the '83 to '85 trunks cracking. I think there was a fix for this. I'm sure there are a few members who could remember what the fix was. Also has anyone figured out a way to put a string/cord/something to stop the trunk from opening to far. Seems I can't shake my Venture roots. Even with the Nomad I need Venture parts on it. The venture trunks fits extremely well and does inprove the looks. Cmor

We picked up my trike from Hannigan on the 26th but didn't get home until late saturday. Today was the first chance to get it out and shake it down. I think I am really going to like it. Got a 1989 Venture. While driving, if I loosely hold or let go of the handlebars, I get a terrible shake in the front wheel that would dump the bike if I continued to let it shake. I had the front wheel balanced and the front end checked but nothing. Got a dunlop 3 on the rear and a dunlop 2 on the front. Any help? I am leaving for British Colombia on June 18th. Thanks

Has anyone tried a larger windscreen on the Venture? My wife complains about some wind buffeting at highway speeds. I feel nothing but she feels a back draft and head shake. I have seen the 1.75” taller screen and was wondering if anyone has tried it or is there another size that I’m not aware of. Thanks,
