  1. We will keep her in our thoughts and pray for a speedy recovery!
  2. Any more news Johanne?
  3. Keep it. When I was looking for a bike I passed on several that had a hitch...thought the same thing....no plans on towing anything. After our first long trip we determined that a trailer was the way to go to haul everything. Then had to drop big bucks to get a hitch not to mention the time it took to find one.
  4. Good to hear you are on the road again. Dont forget to check those pads every now and then....if the one side is getting smaller or worn then switch the two around to get more mileage out of a set.
  5. Thats a scare! Hope is feeling better soon! Our thoughts are with you guys.
  6. Still rooting for her quick return! We sure hope it heals up fast.
  7. Never enough! Good for you to have another toy to putter with!
  8. I've got to ask....isnt the Yamaha headset actually a J+M? My headset has developed a bit of a short in it as well whenever I turn my head to the left..... The price is cheap to replace them from Wingthings...(relatively anyway). 60 bucks for the cord and headset...thats not top of the line but from what I;ve read its not much use wasting your money on the top of the line as the sound isnt much better.
  9. I had to redo mine as I didnt do all the pins on the first try. I didnt bother to look with a magnafiying glass...just eye-balled it. Wrongo...had to take it apart again and this time I did every single pin and reassembled...never had the problem again....
  10. I stuck a toothpick in the area of were you move it. Right at the little thumb handle....know what I mean?? Then broke it off and it stayed in what ever position it was when you inserted the toothpick.
  11. Thanks again Jo...please tell him a great big hello from the Reimer's.
  12. Bingo is right. My short was found in the wires that go into the lamps along that really small tube that the lights sits on. It was just a pin hole and it caused all kinds of trouble....signal lights went crazy...4 ways when turn signal on..etc etc. Took it apart and taped it up...it took Gambler a little luck to find it for me...he happened to run his nail over the spot and noticed it. It was grounding out on the metal.
  13. Our thoughts are with you all. Sure sounds like infection...with all thats going on her immune system is sure to suffer.
  14. Thanks for the update Jo.
  15. Got it added to my addy book. How ya been Charlie?
  16. Well....now that is a can of worms! Ok, not really....but up here in Manitoba Canada that would cost close to 20 grand if from a dealer. Probably get 19 for it privately. In the US I bet you could get one for 14000 out the door. Quit a differance...eh. lol You could try kelly blue book or up here anyway...the library has the "red" book value book.
  17. Thanks for the update Johanne! I talked with your Mom last night and she said he even smiled at her which made her very happy! That is cheap storage fees and I am glad it is so, I had visions of it being alot more. I guess Blue Cross is only if you get sick...still not a bad idea to have it though. I guess the best we can hope for is he gets shipped back home then....that way your Mom can be there on a regular basis. Once he can tell us what he wants done with his bike it will be done! You can count on that. Our Courtney sends a big hug to him and wants very much to see him. I told her we will wait until he can talk and all....he will appreciate it more and so will she.
  18. Why not change that old technology to new stuff. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19715&highlight=fuse+block Try this thread.
  19. During our trip to PIP...besides BigBob crashing...we discovered that Lenny's bike was acting weird from the rear end. It had a waggle and wiggle. Being justly concerned we found the problem....it appears that there may have been broken belts on his rear tire. It had two huge bumps on them. He rides a 1800 vtx and the tire was Dunlop radial if that means anything. We kept on him with our concern and he ended up replacing it in GrandForks...at the harley dealer no less. We all felt better for him after that as we sure didnt want another of our group going down.
  20. I dont know how wide the street was but it was a simple side road and turned it around easiely with my bunkhouse attached. No mods on mine. Couldnt do that before and duck walked around those tight turns. Since this site I've practised looking were I want to go and using the rear brake for very slow speed control. 11.5 feet!! I dont think I could do that and dont think I would try.....back to duck walking in that case!
  21. The trunks and saddle bags are rated for what.....20 lbs each. You would be hard pressed to get 20 pounds in those things unless its a single heavy item. Also the bike should have the plates and yours doesnt. This should be a no-brainer for Yamaha....oops....there I go talking common sense about a company that doesnt use any half the time. I would fight it....thats too expensive an item to let them get away with not covering it. I cant see two helmets making any differance as you wouldnt be riding with two helmets in there normally...would you? Even so they are not that heavy.
  22. Sure glad to here that they are alright. Dang those storms are nasty! Take care all of you in the path of them!
  23. Yep...good news to hear he wasnt hurt! i hope he gets the bike fixed as good as new.
  24. My view on Sturgis is alot like my view on the Dragon....its a bike mecca that one who rides must do at least once. Done Sturgis once....it was ok, loved the area rides more though. Got to do the dragon in this life time.....its on the list.
  25. When I sold the 89 US bike there were no issues from the buyer. I do understand what you're saying though as I turned down a bike in Winnipeg because it was a US one. I just didnt know better at the time.
