Just spoke to the dealer. He stated that I was not covered by warranty as Yamaha is saying that cause is overloading. I'm obviously not happy with the decision. Dealer explained that Yamaha told him to look for my VIN on a service bulletin dating back to 2000 and if the VIN is not there then it's not covered. What great service I got. He just told me to contact Yamaha directly if I wanted to go further. Hell he can't even give me a number to call.
So I looked it up on their web site and wrote them. Now to sit and wait for an answer.
How could the dealer not catch the fact that a 2005 VIN would not show up on a 2000 service bulleting. Great service I guess.
Thanks for all the comments. I will post a follow-up when I hear back from Yamaha.
