You are right Brad...I can ride it a little way before I freeze! And again you are right....I did join without a bike! How did you remember that far back?! All I can remember was being member 100 and begging for someone to part with their bike! That was pre-crash time! Good ole Boo bailed me out and got me started.

Thanks for the kind words Jerry! You know I love the blue...always have. The midnight I have now I got only because the deal was good. Its a great bike and I do like the color...but blue....that just does something else for me. I am going to sell my midnight here in the spring and someone from this area will get a great bike with absolutely no issues. BTW...did you get my addy I sent via email?

Nice trip! I dont know from beans about the roadsofa. But I have heard they are very comfy. I have also heard that some maay make you feel like you are sitting closer to the "tank". Is that the two tone black grey one you are talking about. I saw that somewhere and it looks sharp.

Of course he objected...the guilty b******! And of course his lawyer will try anything to get that confession thrown out. We are always behind you guys....thats all we can do...hang in there....its got to be a miserable long road. Dont give in the lawyers antics....he's working for his client not you. If you give in then he's won.

Yes the battery is under the drivers seat. This is removed by undoing the two nuts that hold them on. If you get down beside the bike and look under the seat you will see these about mid way. The battery can be hooked up to a battery tender and many folks here have them. I am not sure if a battery tender is strong enough to charge a real low battery...one would think not but they are good for maintaining a charge. A good strong battery is important and a bad one will make things go goofy in a hurry and with little warning. The dealer (stealer) does not have to do this simpliest of maintenance. Heck there are many folk on this site that dont let the dealers near their bikes and do most things themselves. This is a great site and you should visit the tech sections- the advice there will save you bundles of money and keep your baby purring along for many miles.

Pros & cons of ABS and linked braking systems
sarges46 replied to dharnie's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Well...of course both my first gens had linked brakes. I loved it. Try as I might I could not lock those brakes up...... I have had one serious rear lock-up on my RSV and dont ever want that again. Yes, I thought I could just feather and pump the rear if I needed to...but once the big truck with the drum broom swung out in front of me....I hammered the brakes ...skidded....but something must have told me not to release the brake and I managed to get her straightened out.....did it stop me.....nope....but I was swerving right at the same time I hammered that rear brake so I missed that truck! Over this winter I will be ordering Ricks brake mod. This has got to help. Would I like ABS....darn right I would. -
Nope...its inside the lower right cowling and can be a bear to get at. I had trouble removing the thing as the center pin that holds the right and left together at the bottom wouldnt release for me. I did manage to loosen things enough and get at the fuse block. It takes a 5 amp blade fuse.

My front one powers the gps and has been split inside the fairing to power my satellite radio as well. The rear one was wired for a cigarette lighter. The lighter is mounted on the flat black spot just between the seats on the left side. I have blown the fuse using a air mattress compressor on the front. Its a pain to change that fuse so I dont do that any more.

Glad you are ok! Terrible to lock it up...I did the same over a month ago but didnt go down..lucky. Gonna order that butler brake mod this winter...I dont ever ever want that to happen again.....it scared me.

Congrats to all of you.

Two choices 1/ Edsets.com (very nice) and great folks to deal with. www.edsets.com 2/ J+M at sierra electronics....you dont need the real expensive ones either. They have many differant hook up choices for the cords. wingthings also sell headsets for about 60 bucks with the cord...they are the j+m lower priced and work just fine. You need the 5 pin.

Best I've seen for those on the upper fairing is painted ones. Bigbob had his painted white to match his bike. It looked good. For more wind to the legs the ones posted above work ok.

Dont do it Rick. Invest in the progressive hand pumps. The fit nicely in the trunk or saddlebag. An aircompressor is asking to blow things up....like seals.

Thanks a bunch. We will check em out.
