  1. Very cool and belated Happy New Year to you and yours!
  2. That was something! Be nice to see you play in person. Someday...eh!
  3. I think the hair got in your eyes there ol fella! Mike I will pass on your well wishes as well as all the others received. I know we had a heck of a good time at PIP. He'll be back in good form the good Lord willing. The only worry about their place is the elk he keeps. But I am sure there will be someone there to look after things for a bit. They are well established and thought of out there....so no worries.
  4. Just noticed that after you pointed it out Mike. The correct area code for Saskatchewan is 306. Take care.
  5. You got to run those two highways mentioned...very nice. The caves claim to be good...we can let you know as we are going in April. The east part of ND is nice...around Gary's area is were the roads get a little more fun. Dont come to Manitoba and expect good riding....its as bad as the west part of ND! Besides you dont have any friends here that would love to see ya! Have a good trip Red!
  6. I think he will think thats funny as h*** Russ! Good idea. I want badly to go see him...but on top of the rain sleet freezing rain it is now snowing a nice fluffy (not) wet heavy snow!
  7. Golf and baseball in the summer. I am a lousy golfer and getting too old and fat for baseball so I go riding. As a family we love camping and dont do near enough of that. I used to be an avid fisherperson but got so tired of not catching anything I took up golf....pretty bad at golf so I ride more. Moping around complaining about the cold in the winter! I am set up for retirement though Marilyn got me a metal detector and a remote airplane. Got to try crashing that some day!

  9. We didnt ride it but we did drive them a few years ago. Very very nice. It gets cool so have something warm nearby...even in July! You get way up there!
  10. I believe its the 9003 that fits.
  11. Not a position I want to be in for sure! Pete Klassen (TessaC2) is a friend of several of us from this site. You will remember him from PIP twice. On sunday he had a stroke and is now in Saskatoon University Hospital. I have spoken to his wife Hazel and she wanted me to let his buds know about this on the site. The news is not all bad. He is alert and talking just fine. He forgets sometimes where he is. His left side is somewhat paralized but as it stands right now the docs predict a good recovery. Hazel suggested that he will work extra hard to get better as he does not want have to give up biking. Our prayers have already been sent to him and his family personally. I would go up to see him this week but our weather is making such a trip impossible. There is talk that if he is required for a long rehab then Hazel will fight to move him to Calgary where there is the best heart and stroke facility around. I will update if you folks wish. Many thanks to his friend Dale who joined the site just to track me and BigBob down to give us the news.
  12. Flatout motorsports has some for 55 bucks each. You could also contact Old Bull...he was parting a 86 I believe. The part numbers are the same as the 83. Bet you get em cheaper.
  13. Not meaning to steer you away from chrome...cause everyone loves chrome...but another option is the Wagner Grill made by one of our members Steve Wagner. It has the retro look and matches the bikes color. It also is a true rad protector. I have one and it looks great. See the preferred vendor section to find his site.
  14. All years are the same. Just follow the instructions....those are probaly the year they were made and printed. Nothing much had changed with this bike.
  15. Elites or Avons...not Metzlers is the popular answer you will get. It seems the metz on the venture is not a good thing, perhaps the bike is too heavy for it. I had a metz on my midnight and didnt care for it at all. It howled in the corners and I was constantly worried about it coming apart. I now have Avons and this is the second bike with those. I really like em alot. Personal preference of course. Southwest moto is one of the best places to get the tire and they support the site as well.
  16. If alone....my spare is at home. When Marilyn and I are riding together, I have her spare in my pocket and she has mine in her jacket.
  17. That is a real good price....they are almost 300 up here from the yammi site! They work just great besides adding that little extra bling for the ride. Freebird...I'm with ya on this. Bought a car site unseen from a town 6o miles away over the phone. When I went to the dealer here he then told me he would have matched the price....I told him he should have right at the start or even come close...I saved 3 grand with the other dealer....thats alot. I will never buy a major purchase from anyone here...they just dont deal.
  18. Can you say ouch ouch and more ouch!! I've heard thats a nasty injury to have. All the best in healing...but thats a hard way to get yourself to slow down! All the best and its good to hear from you again.
  19. I dont know what happened, but when I entered this site and was viewing the tools section, camping tools, my computer shut down saying it did to prevent further damage. Maybe it was just at my end......anyone else experiance this?
  20. 07 Blue!!
  21. I was a whole lot younger and much stupider then! It was a rough ride but I couldnt wait to get back and get me that new venture!
  22. In 1983 I lived in Vancouver BC and owned a 81 Honda 750 4 Custom. It was a great bike for boppin around the mountains and riding through town. I decided to take the bike on a trip to Winnipeg MB to see my folks. After crossing the rockies by body decided I didnt like the bike anymore. It was not made for the journey I made! I got to Winnipeg and went to a motorcycle show at the convention center. There she was....all gold colored and wild looking for the times! I sat on it...drooled on it and the salesman almost had me buying it...but when I mentioned that I had another bike to take back home he stopped bugging me. I suffered a long journey back to Vancouver 24 hours in total. Got in around midnight and at 8 am was up and over to the Yammy dealer nearby. I asked if I could take that radical new bike for a test ride....yep he said....if I gave him the full cost of the bike first! So I just paid the man what he was asking and drove it away! I had never driven a bagger before but this goldie was just perfect! It was like I owned it for years! Thats my story and I am sticking to it! The bike was one of ten in western Canada that year.
  23. 1400 for the bike..full coverage including plates. My license is no differant...40 bucks if you have merits. More if you dont. I am 51 with full merits (5) and the prices listed are including the discounts I get for have merits. Again...government insurance...no competition. Got us by the gonads! Goes up about 8-15 percent for bikes every year...almost automatic..just because.
  24. 83 in 86 they changed the first gen to non removable bigger bags and the 1300 engine. That stopped in 93. 99 they started production of the 2nd gen we know now. Not much has changed with it......
  25. Thanks everyone! I am done packing and Marilyn is sorting out her stuff. Tammy.....the girl we surprised...well.....it was priceless! She didnt know what to do....spit. poop or throw the dog out! First time I've ever seen her speechless! It was great!
