Front fork springs by progressive from Motorcycle Accessorie warehouse. 60 bucks. Cant beat it I dont think. Best thing since sliced bread for the front end after those old stock springs wear out. Good to deal with as well. You will still need to change out the seals though. http://www.mawonline.com/newsite/progressive-fork_springs.htm#FRONT_FORK_SPRINGS Scroll down until you find the ones for the ventures 83-94.- 19 replies

Did I read wrong...I thought he said he's 5'10" and skinny as a rail at 156 lbs. At 5'6" then that would more of a challenge!

Parking lot practise is what you need. Big tip.....look where you want to go...do not look down.....ever...cause you will fall over! Get the Ride Like a Pro video for great tips. The first gen venture handle slow speed better than the second gens do. Take it to the lot every chance you get and practise. Happy riding...you can do it!

So you are saying that it didnt get fixed by warranty? If not, do you think the area rep might listen to you and at least get your money back for the coils? The bike is still under warranty and you shouldnt have to pay for anything. Some dealers are just bad as previously noted by several members.

Whew! This is starting to get to be the time I start worrying about my southern friends. We have tornados, more than ever now, but nothing like what happens down south of us. I saw my first honest to goodness shelter in a Michaels back yard when I picked up my bike in Ark. It was a little sobering.

I just kicked Ruffy off the phone....poor Gary....he's starving! And its gonna have to be a small lasagna...he says his stomach is the size of his thumb! He does appreciate the calls but had to cut short as the nurse was there to preform some sort miracle nurses are known to perform.

I vowed two years ago never never ever complain about the heat again! It does the body good.... I know it will be hot in Ark.....the only trouble will be trying to sleep in the camper. When its that hot I do have troubles sleeping. I bought a battery operated fan to move some air around at least, hope that helps.

Just not right! I say we hop into our dog sleds and patter on down there and show those southeners a thing or two! hmpph...what am I saying...you guys in south Ontario and wet coast will be riding long before I will! Actually I enjoy the tales of trips and ventures whilst I shiver in my long johns....it helps the imagination for things to come.

NeoSho trailers sell a very reasonable swivel hitch for the trailer. Most folks use the the hoppy wiring harness and the instructions for wiring are in the tech section. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=503

"If you can't be the tour guide for that little trip, maybe you can join me on my ride to Alaska in about 5 years? We can stop in and mooch off Rick & Marilynn for a couple days." H*** in five years I will be retired! You can kidnap me to go with you! I have been reading this post with great enthusiasm and now have to refocus some of our plans. I love the road less travelled as well....I just gotta talk the kids into it as well.

Sorry to hear this Dan. I hope the other damages are not to severe and you can make it right in no time. I know you can fix those machines without much problem but I can feel the pain and aggravation you must be having. Makes a long night shift even longer dont it.

I seem to be the bearer of not so good news lately!

I talked with Hazel this evening before going out. Pete is somewhat better. He was having some trouble staying awake and had some swelling which she said was normal. They gave him meds for the swelling and its working. He was also able to stay awake for longer periods of time today and carry on good conversation. He had a feed tube in his nose! Yuck he wont like that.....but the nurse told him that if he stays awake longer he can eat proper and have that thing removed. I seem to think they took that out. Physical therapy dept. also told him to get his butt down and start working out...as soon as he can stay awake of course. Hazel is going to try and get onto the site and print all the pages for him to read. -

I think....remember...just think that those are from the 1200 goldwing but they can be worked on the venture. Try lifting you seat and see if there are any bolts that can come off and then be inserted into the rests. And the bolt that mounts the hand rest along the side. -
Thanks for the warning Red...we will be on 4 wheels for the April trip. Got the whole family...our two kids and our exchange student. Waiting for a reply from Mystic Mountain to see if the cabins will accomadate us.....two teenage boys and 12 year old girl. Enjoy your trip.

Type in border services for Blaine. Most major crossings have one. I use ours alot and its over an hour drive. But....when I check in at the border, Canadian side, I do have to pay the GST. Saves tons of money as shipping within the US is usually very cheap even with UPS.

I am still trying to get ahold of Hazel. She must be spending time with him as her phone is off. I tried the hospital and his ward....Russel must be a smoother talker than I am...all the nurse would tell me is that i have to ask his wife any questions. -
I gotta ask you Rick...how was it shipped...that will be a telling take. If UPS....get some bear grease cause its gonna hurt! Brokerage fees are terrible with UPS to Canada from the US. USPS is the only way to go. Also you are going to pay GST on it as well. Most likely anyway...sometimes customs let items slip by.

Last spring I had my 05 in the air for a week on just a jack. With the adaptor it should be just fine. And for the other fella....the front wheel is easier to take off than the rear...sometimes getting the brakes back on is a little fun specially if they've closed some.
