Nice bike Eck. How is the leg room compared to the venture? The only reason I gave up with the first gen is because I couldnt do the foot under thing anymore.

Shouldnt be a problem as the guys says its only around 200 lbs. After loading it up you will likely see 300lbs or so. Still not a problem. Just remember you cant or wont stop as fast as you are used to. My camper is around 400lbs and it pulls like a dream...bunkhouse.

All the best to you and all that are serving, Clay. Stay safe and see you one day.

Be gentle he says! I like the look. What I would change or try to Close off were the fairing meets the light...looks nakid to me..but that could be angle of pics. And I would want the inside closed as well...but then again I am used to the closed look with the rsv. All in all though...you did a great job.

Ya and I have that bar on my midnight. It looks ok, not as nice as OEM but works alright for the money. Mikealiasmike got the trunk from them and had bad luck with the locking mech and even worse customer support if I recall.

buying 07 need advice
sarges46 replied to Bobcatpat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Tires only....hmmm...look at what the max rating is for the tire and fill to within a couple pounds of it. Fork and rear suspension is a personal thing but the fellas have given you good starting points. Adjust as you see fit but never over 7 on the front and never with a machine pump! -
Well at least it looks better now that you both may have jobs soon. Congrats to Lina and fingers crossed for you Dan. Things will come around and we will see you on something nice again. We look forward to those occassions you pop in for a couple hours after driving for 15! Take care to you both.

Yes I have the instructions. 1-install slip ties around the upper Front crash bars (do not tighten), you need two ties 2-place a rag or towel over fender..set bottom of grill in place and let the grill rest on the fender 3-slip the ties around the hooks in the back of the grill 4- take slack out of each side before tightening in place. Hold grill centered with one hand and tighten the slip tie snug on both sides. 5-If you remove the wire screen for painting or replacement dont over tighten the nuts on the bolts..yu may crack the fiberglass 6- Steve recommends 5-6 lbs air in shock. If you have dropped your bike or are using ride pegs the lowers may be closer together than factory. The grill may seem too wide. Use a tie down strap between the front and rear crash bar. Both sides. Snug straps which will pull front crash bar back into position and allow the grill to slip into place. The slip ties I got are fairly thick and about a foot long.

If they are like mine were....it is cracked all the way around, both sides, right near the rim. Many cracks appear and they are hard to tell just how deep they go or if the tire is truly damaged. My dealer told me he would not ride that way....particularly on the highway.

I would think they need to go back again for another set. You certainly shouldnt drive on those me thinks.

We have been home for over an hour now from our visit. Took this long to wet vac the basement as we had water coming in the window well. It rained like the dickens here and with things still frozen the water had no where to go! Pete is doing well. Talks as good as ever, eats like no tomorrow. Normal worries about how much he will get back on his left side. But he was complaining of pain in his left arm....to me thats a good thing. Pain means feeling and that has to be good. He does have work to do make no mistake, but if anyone is up to it, it is Pete. I must say though...when we walked in unannounced we caught him looking at the harley pamphlet...you know the one with the trike they make. Thats a nice rig! He thanks everyone for the thoughts. He should be signing on himself, perhaps as early as tomorrow.

Exhaust Leak at Y
sarges46 replied to rdhc's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
This is a warranty issue and dont let them tell you differant. If nothing else the bike is covered front to back for 5 years on everything other than normal wear items like brake pads, oil, tires. Some dealers can be difficult to work with and try and give you a bum steer. I hope yours isnt like that. If so then you will need to contact an area rep or Yamaha Corp in Toronto if things get bad. -
The link is closed Brian.

Motorcycle accessory warehouse.....around 55 bucks -
Thanks Brian. He has something but it doesnt seem too good. Normally from here we head north west on 16.... Also Pete if you see this....I know for sure Lowell (wildhair) had one...he mentioned it in the original post I made about yours. He says it took 4 months before he was back to work. No-one can say it affected his riding for sure!!

Hi Folks. I just got off the phone after talking with Pete (tessac2). He seems to being doing well considering. He has questions from stroke survivors. He was wondering if folks could put their experiances here and in particular interest to him is the bikers who are riding after having a stroke. His left hand is quit weak and at this time he says he could not close the clutch if his life depended on it. His left leg is weak and his foot wont listen too well yet. Not good enough to shift gears he figures. And lastly...balance...the folks in rehab are worried about balance for riding. He tries to peek in here every now and then...but I will print up everything just before we head out to see him next Saturday. Thanks

This is what it says! Good to hear from her. "Pete will still be in the hospital till April sometime. He has not been able to log on to Venture Rider so you can let the guys know that Pete is progressing quite well. He is driving the wheelchair and getting some movement in the left leg.His strong determination to ride is getting him through this. You are welcome up anytime, Just give us a call." Take care Pete & Hazel

Hang in there ...its late...you will more advice. But to me...me thinks you made a slight boo boo...it shouldnt be that hard to take out the shaft...getting it back in takes some wiggling though. You may have broke something...but wait and see what everyone else has to say....or at least someone with more knowledge about this than me!
