  1. At 25,000 miles I bought new plugs for my 04 RSV, put them in the bike and went on about my way, ofcourse the bike did not seem to run any better. Well last weekend me and Deanna my daughter were going to ride to St Simons on Sat. so friday night with 31000 miles on the RSV I took the plugs out of the truck and actually put them in the motor. Bike ran much better then. We also found the right frount plug wire was not push down on the plug all the way You know these thing run pretty good on 3 cyls. and very smooth on all 4. 46.5 mpg on the trip, running between 65 and 70 mph. On the way back DeAnna's 06 v-star 1100, dropped the frount cyl, came home on the back cyl. wide open 55 mph. found the 1100 v-star have fuel shut-off valve like lawn mower to shut the fuel off to the needle valve in the carb. frount failed.
  2. Okay, so OutKast changed the frount tire, But I , Kitty, painted the rotors and now I'm not sure which one goes where. Or if it even matters? Help please =) Thanks
  3. I am reposting this here to answer some questions in other threads. The Avon Cobra I am running on the frount is 150/80R/16 radial frount tire. I bought mine from Bikebandit.com, it was 164.95 Plus 7.95 shipping. they ship fast too. For me this is one of the best things I have done for the RSV, it seems to solve all of the handling problems, and rides great. I do have the kumho ct on back, its a great combo. I really believe that the RSV needs radial tires. I am reposting pictures of mine mounted on the 2004, I will check with Micky he has my 2000 which has the cobra and nexum, to see how many miles he has on it now. Gregg
  4. Finally got the brickstone off and the cobra mounted on frount. Avon Cobra 150/80R/16 Radial Going from the brick to the cobra radial, improved ride and handling, I knew the ride would be much better, but I did not realize that the handling would be so drastically improved. The brickstone had plenty of tread but rode like a brick, and apparently made the bike handle bad. Road to my Dr. appointment today up I-75 and was very happy, rides and handles like my 2000 RSV did, but without the chrip. The cobra is the perfect mate for the kumho on back. Trust me the cobra is the frount tire for the darkside, its the right size and its a frount radial not a rear running backward. Tire came from bikebandit order Sunday evening before and went to work, got it tuesday. tire was 154.95 plus 7.95 shipping, tire dealer in town put in on the rim $10. Gregg
  5. Today I was on my way to my mother-in-laws, she was having a birthday party for my youngest daughter just turned 16. I was getting off the cloverleaf exit in tifton ga. Its a real hairpin turn, that I really love to lean through, you know scrub the floorboards, well today I came off the interstate around 50 MPH, and found a surprize in the middle of this exit, OIL a nice large patch. Well with the floorboards all but scubbing, there was no way to miss it, the brickstone on the frount just went to sliding, the kumho on the back did not slide at all, it held all the way through the patch. Now I have been ridding since age 13, 37 years, I don't remember ever having this situation before. I have slid the rear around but not the frount. The only thing I could think to do was to stand the bike up, it came up and I almost went across the ditch into the access road. I kept it up but don't know how. I did not touch the brakes at all, pretty sure that would have put me down. had to change underwear afterward. will slow down there from now on. Gregg
  6. I put the new Avon Cobra Radial on the frount of my 2000 rsv, I already have a nexum 165/80/15 radial car tire on back. The ride is great, and the handling is super. I did not think it would make that much diffierence in the ride, but it does, much smoother on rough pavement. Seems to have improved grip in curves, will keep yall posted, as the miles add up. thunder beach was a blast Gregg
  7. here a picture of us the other day, dont mine the 2 sweet ones in the frount row there kinda weird LOL
