  1. This was a bit before my time. But some of the "old times" like, Don, Bubber, Condor and a lot more probably do. http://www.stumptownblogger.com/2012/04/what-a-cool-video.html?cid=6a010536b86d36970c0163050cd62f970d Those were the days were they not...
  2. Last year at Cody I asked for someone to take a picture of me while I was riding my bike down the highway. It was a couple and I forgot their names, my bad. I was wondering if they still had the photo and could email it to me or PM me and I would send them my email. I would really like to have it. I forgot all about it til recently. Steve AKA Bubber
  3. After going to the Pork in the Pines last year, Bubber goes home and tells Mrs Bubber that Gary now has the old outhouse right inside his house. So, no more going out in da cold. Well, this is a big mistake cause now Mrs Bubber is after him like a duck on a June bug to have him move the outhouse inside. So, ol Bubber finally gives in. He gets his stubby pencil out, makes a sketch on a piece of lined school pad paper and figures out all the materials he needs to git er done. Then he tinks maybe he should call Gary to get him to come over and help. Since Gary's already done this at his place, he can help and make the job much easier. Bubber calls, talks to Gary and Gary agrees to come over on Saturday to help. O dark early, Gary's up. He jumps on the Ol Blu By U and he's off to Bubber's place before he even has a cupa. Well, he gets to Bubbers, pulls into the yard and he see's Bubber sitting outside with two buckets of nails. Ol Bubber, he's almost in tears and Gary's really concerned that maybe he hurt himself. Off the bike he jumps, runs over to Bubber and asks him what's wrong. Bubber just looks at him with that ol hang dog look and starts telling him that he needs to go get more nails. This really confuses Gary as there are two big buckets full of nails sitting there. So, he asks Bubber whats wrong with the nails he already has. Bubber starts to tell him that Wally World had a big sale on nails, so he bought up all they had. When he got home he started looking at them and realized that them nails was made in China. And most of them had the heads on the wrong end. He tried to sort em out, and by the time he was done he didn't think he would have enough nails to finish building the indoor outhouse. Well, gary looks into the buckets and sure enough, most of the nails have the heads on the wrong end. Gary asks Bubber for a cup of coffee, and they sit there for a while drinking the coffee and just starring at the two buckets of nails. All of a sudden gary jumps up and yells at Bubber that he knows what the problem is and he don't need to buy any more nails. Ol Bubber, he just looks at Gary like he's crazy. Gary reaches down into the bucket, pulls out a nail and tells Bubber, "These are for the other side of the house." True story and I stands by it....

  6. Now that Bubber has been able to get a set of RSTD bars, let's start this again to see if we can find me a set. I know we had some posts on the other thread, but I need to find a set for someone who is a bit financially challenged when it comes to the bike fund. Has anybody else got another set?
  7. Bubber and his lovely Missus had spent their entire lives living in North Branch, MN, and Bubber was tired to the winter snow and cold weather. So, after much thought and discussion they decide to move south to Minneapolis. Well, they picked the wrong winter to move south. The other morning they are up having their morning coffee when the radio announces the emergency snow route advisement. All vehicles are to be parked on the even side of the street to allow the snow plows to clear the streets. Being the good citizen that he is, Bubber gets bundled up and goes out to park his car on the even side of the street. It snows all night, and the next morning the radio announces that all vehicles are to be parked on the odd side of the street. So, Bubber heads out and parks his car on the odd side of the street. A few days later, they are again listening to the radio when the announcer starts to tell folks which side of the street they need to park on. Unfortunately, the power goes out before the announcer can tell them which side of the street to park on. Now Bubber is really confused and asks the Missus what she thinks he should do. She thinks about this for a few minutes. Then she reaches over, pats Bubber on the hand and says, "Honey, why don't you just leave the car in the garage today?"
  8. Hey Bubber...You should've shoveled the roof. Or maybe tried your old snow blower to help out. Now you'll have to send the Missus with her sewing needle. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Unbelievable-video-of-Metrodome-collapse-from-in?urn=nfl-294816 Has that happened since the first couple years after they built it? Later, Scooter Bob

  16. Well me and Mrs. Bubber had a great time at the PIP. Met some of our friends from last year and met a few new friends this year. We got there Friday after noon after a leisurely ride up to La Porte from North Branch MN. We were pulling my home made tear drop trailer that I modified this year to make it shorter, so I had it pretty well stuffed with camping and other supplies for the weekend. We got to catch up early on the BSing and helping out where we could. I think more BSing than help though. When we pulled in someone had stole my favorite reserved camping spot right next to the chicken coupe........ I knew right away that it was my friend Rocket. LOL I guess he wanted to get up early and was trying to hog the rooster for himself...... Like that was going to work. Mr. Rooster made his presence known each and every morning before daylight. He must have been in the hen house entertaining his ladies friends because when I pointed the shotgun out of the tent he was no where to be seen. LOL. People started to arrive and the BSing began, There was a lot of talk about bikes and who was coming and who was late and why or if they were even going to make it. Thankfully they all made it safe and sound. People started staking out their area and the tents went up faster than you could say Jack Robinson. Soon the fire was going and the BS flying and we settled in for the lies and BSing and jokes we all came to expect while enjoying each other company. A great first night. Unfortunately our guest of honor was delayed a little along with the chef. After much preparation and love stirred in to the pot somewhere around 8-9 or 10 Black Owl said the chili was ready to taste test, heck that didn't take long for a line to begin forming. Well lets just say I was glad they were camped over in the tree compound area. Great start to the food and coming together of a combination of old and new friends. Saturday was a ride to the falls and around the magnificent lakes in the area. I forgot just how beautiful northern Minnesota is. Well we missed the Dairy Queens but found a liquor store on the way back to the LaPorte headquarters. The pig was almost ready Chris and his assistants had slaved over the guest of honor all day turning and basting and keeping a watchful eye on Mr. Pig. All I can say is that it was cooked to perfection, it was juicy and tender and it went down great with all the other side dishes of salad and macaroni salad, potato salad, cole slaw and some concoction of beans that we all said was the greatest beans we had ever eaten. Great job by all our chefs. As you can guess there was a lot of OOOOOhing and AAAAHing and just plain rubbing their stomachs from eating to much, me included. What could possible top this off? A camp fire, a little adult beverage and a cigar surrounded by your new and old friends swapping lies, telling stories and acting smart. What a great ending to the day. Here is where the real appreciation comes in: Black Owl for his great skill at cooking each and every day. He is a real talent. Chris for his skills at keeping Mr. Pig in the cooker and roasting him to perfection. Gary and Ann for there willingness to share their home with all of us. Will and Elizabeth for the organizing, web site and all the behind the scene stuff we don't actually see, and the cigars. To all the others who pitched in and didn't ask for or receive acknowledgement we all thank you. Unfortunately Mrs. Bubber and I had to leave to go to her brother's house about 100 miles away so we didn't get to share what went on Sunday night. Headed home from BIL house Monday and we stopped to fill with gas about 80 miles away and I noticed and oil leak. I couldn't pin point the leak and it wasn't real bad. Rode another 20 miles and stopped again to double check it. As I was riding the 20 miles I kept thinking about the leak and where it could be coming from . I had never heard anyone talk about the RSV leaking oil from the motor. Sure enough it hit me what it was. I got out my wrenches and the fitting on the bottom of the motor where the oil line to the gauge come from was loose. Waalaa …..that was it and other than the oil on the bottom of the bike all was good. We made it home. Picked up the dog from the sitters and vegged out the rest of the night. We had a great time and wouldn't miss it for the world. Thanks to all that helped put it on, attended and sponsored it. I have attached some pictures for all to see.( all left to right) # 1 Group BSing # 2 MinnMac (Al), Renate, Mrs Bubber # 3 Mrs Bubber, Bubber (LuAnn & Steve) at water falls # 4 John & Red1 # 5 Gordy, Laura, and smoking a cigar if Marilyn # 6 Bubber, AL, John, Red 1 # 7 Red1 Guest of honor (Mr. Pig) and Kris the chef People I can remember in attendance Black Owl Gary and Ann Bubber and Mrs Bubber Al and Renate Gordy and Laura Rick and Mariyln (sarge46) Lowel Alan Yupper John Red1 Starbog Rocket Will and Elizabeth (Jugglar and Tigress) Eagleeye (Steve) Please add in the ones I missed!
