We're thinking about taking a trip to Washington DC and would like some recommendations on where to stay. I've been there a couple of times but have never stayed in the touristy area. Somewhere on the public transit would be good. Any suggestions?

hello everyone taking a test ride here my name is Vincent Owen i live in sw Ar. finally got another bike after many years 07RSMV replacing a Vstar 1100 kids are gone an were ready to try our first long distance trip to eastern Tenn. It was suggested that i post questions here about any suggestions on making our trip pleasant. We have seven days to travel an limited space as you all are aware of. Just wondering whats a reasonable distance to travel a day and not be wore out I know that will vary from person to person. Suggestions on packing etc. Also any great reasonable places to stay in the Gatlinburg an Pigeon Forge area. Anything a newbie tourer might need to know. Experience is the best teacher but often has the hardest lessons

I have an 05 venture. When I set the clock to the correct time and turn the ignition switch off the clock resets to 1:00. It has never done this before. Any suggestions how to correct this? Thanks,

I've recently bought a Lees-ure Lite tent trailer and although there appears to be sufficient room for storage of camping gear, etc, I was wondering if anyone has ideas or suggestions of methods to carry all or additional stuff on the top of the trailer? Thoughts, comments, suggestions .... all appreciated.

i have a 2007 RSTD which i have installed a Hoppe fairing and fabbed a detachable tour pak bracket and box. the factory windshield and lowers and the pillion backrest are in near perfect condition, i am considering selling these parts and was curious to what some of the member here thought about the pricing of the parts? any suggestions would be appreciated. i know to purchase new the rear pillion and all factory components would run about $825.00 which seems ludicrous but that's what the going price is !!

Hello I am new here and was wondering if anyone has ever has had a problem with the starter not ever going off? I took my starter switch apart and am unable to figure out how to put it back together also. Even with the starter switch apart it still turns over and will not shut off! Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks you alll so very much in advance.

Looking for pics and suggestions on loading my 2nd gen. My tent ( Catoma Solo Rider, I'll post a review after my trip) and sleeping pad are wider than the trunk rack and seem to push the antennas out, prohibiting their movement. I don't want to snap them going down the road. I will be traveling one up and plan to use the pillion seat for the tent, pad and a small cooler. Does anyone have pics of their Ventures loaded for long trips / camping? Suggestions on bungee cords, tie downs or attachment points would be appreciated. I searched but didnt come up with much. Any pics, help or suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks and stay safe! csogbk

My fiancee and I are taking 10 days starting this coming Friday (June 24) and going to head out on the bike with some camping gear and see where the road takes us. Any suggestions on removing and replacing the lower bearing on the lower tree? I have called a few cycle shops and all wanted at least 40 bucks to do it IF it comes off smoothly! More if not. One shop said they wanted double because I wanted the old bearing off first, then take it home to polish the lower tree and return it to them to install the new bearing. Thats 80 bucks min labor! Got to be a better (cheaper) way. Any suggestions? The races look relatively easy to come out.

Planning a trip to California. Flying into LAX, renting a car and starting from there. (Motorcycle trip planned for the next month) Going for approx 10 days and would like to head up the Pacific Coast Hwy as far as Eureka possibly or suggestions. What other suggestions do you have as far as must see and routes in this area. Keep in mind I have seen LA south to San Diego.

Anybody have some suggestions for a front fender mud flap to keep the dirt off the radiator? Also I want to add some hiway pegs to the little front crash bars. I would like an adjustable offset style to put the boots on when freeway riding. Any good suggestions that you have used?

Where did you get your trailer? I've been looking at the PiggyBacker. Good price at $950 but add $200 for RIV processing and shipping ($186) plus the hassles with customs, brokerage fees and registration.... is there a good trailer available locally ? (Ontario) I've checked kijiji and autotrader but nothing listed. Suggestions?

I know there is quite a bit of info on this, but yesterday when I was out riding for the first time this season and on my new to me 2004 RSV, it popped and backfired on deceleration. The air filter is clean and I changed the fuel filter. I think tomorrow I will sync my carbs. Anyone have any suggestions on what else I could do that might possibly stop the popping and backfiring? It isn't bad, but it is still there. Thanks in advance Chris -
Just recieved my 1 1/2 risers today.I have never put a set on.Is there an easy way to put them on.It seems my radio cable is a little tight.Any and all suggestions appreciated.

I got a couple new projects starting up and sending some parts to the platers to have the old chrome stripped so I can clean them up and paint them. The thing is I also have some parts that are plastic that were "chromed" and I need to remove that also. Any suggestions on removing that without damaging the plastic? Other than a lot of scraping and sanding? Thanks Mike

My Lady Linda is wanting a Miata. I have been looking around the Local Swap and Shop and Craigslist and have found a few, but the biggest problem is she just has to have an automatic trans. The other concern is when looking at prices, Kelly Blue Book is showing about half or a little more worth for what people are asking. And, it is not uncommon for someone to be asking these prices with over 200,000 miles on them. So, does anyone have any suggestions on what to look for or to avoid? I did find an automatic that the guy said had 530 hp in the V-8 engine that is in it, but I can not talk her into that one and he wants $15,000 for it anyway. RandyA
