This actually happened a week ago... I had just left work and in a rush to get home so I was pushing a little. The right lane was slow so I jumped in the left lane and was doing ok until this young girl in front of me puts on her right turn signal and suddenly starts slowing down until she is stopped waiting for cars in the right lane to pass. When she finally gets over I blow past her and look over to see her looking at me with a 'what did I do wrong' look on her face. THAT'S when I realized that me on the Venture with my black half helmet and black leather jacket and flashing headlight must have looked like a cop in her young mind and she thought I was pulling her over. (Yes, I did laugh) I've noticed others looking close or slowing down when I get behind them. Has anyone else had someone pull over for you?

Has anyone heard anything from Black Owl. Last time he posted was the 19th about going for Blondie Burgers. His father was having health problems. Just hoping everythings ok.

With only 22k miles my 84 needs a stator. Anyone got a good used one or where I can get the best price for new one. And yes it is fried. New battery, good connections thruout. When I did 2nd gear it was black on one side. I have a spare regulator-rectifier and it does the same, no charge. Just hoping then.... Thanks -
I would like to purchase a Quadzilla Fairing for my 2006 rstd. Does anyone have any experience with the install of the fairing. Is it wired directly to the battery? My bike is black and I am wondering if the Gloss black paint option will match the black on my bike.

Hey actually saw another RSV right here in Twinsburg. Was rather surprised only ran into one other in the area last year. Wonder if anyone Knows who this would be. It was dark but I believe it was black cherry.

Yes I know it sounds like one of the kids, I need, I want, but I am looking for the black plastic tank ignition cover on a Venture. The one that surrounds (at least part way)the gas cap and the ignition switch. I was wondering if anyone out there has one they will part with at a reasonable price. I know I'll probably fill like a dummy asking, but I've seen these on RSV's before and bought one for my bike quite a while ago, just never put it on, but lost the instructions. Now I'm thinking of putting it in my car instead, it's about 5 inch's long x 1 inch high x 3/4 inch deep and has a combination clock, voltage meter, and outside temp. reading. With the sensor that you put outside to p/u the outside temp. it has 3 other wires (black, red, and orange). I figure black and red goes to grnd. and batt., but where does the orange wire go (ignition?) I hooked up the red and black to the batt., and the clock, volt meter and outside temp came on, but I guess I still need to know about the orange, anybody out there done this??

After much thought and consideration I have decided to go out and buy a new Harley. Jean fell in love with a neighbors 08 Ultra and the dealer here has a super price on an 08 Screaming Eagle Ultra. And Zeus looks good in a black and orange bandana. Pics to follow. Dealer even offered me 8k on my RSV. Cant beat that with a stick. :thumbsup2:

No, I didnt buy a 2nd gen, cant afford one, I didnt sell my 1st Gen, never ever, still have the VStar, but I went an ordered a Batwing fairing for my V Star. Looking forward to getting it mounted, they do look pretty good on it, I attached a couple of pics of a couple of Vstars with them installed, I am getting the 7 inch black faded windshield and black lower deflectors.

I have a 2000 MM. You all know what they look like. Mine has black wall tires. I am considering white wall tires. Does anyone with a 2000 MM run white wall tires? Well i've finally made the decision to repaint my Venture. When I origionally thought of doing this, my father-in-law was going to loan me his garage and expertise. However with the economy the way it has been, half way through his rebuild of the garage he was let go from his job (downsizing) and hasn't finished the ventilation system for the paint stall. I was hoping by spring he would have it done but it isn't working that way. So off of a whim I decided to give a friend of mine a call, who now runs his families bodyshop. He said if we do all of the prep work, and wet sand and polish after it is painted, that he would paint any color (including candies or pearls) for $300.00 to $500.00 depending on weather he had to do any extra touch up work or not. So considering that the paint alone was going to cost me around $300.00 when I was pricing it out, I figured that having a professional paint job including paint and labor for $3-500.00 was awesome. I know the hard part is going to be the prep and finish work but We were going to have to do it all for that price. I was going to do the 2007 Venture blue and black, but now after looking at several different paint colors and bikes I am thinking of maybe a Black Pearl. I feel Chrome lends itself well to Black and vice versa, but that Black Pearl will give it that little extra ooooohhhhh aaaaahhhhh factor. I havent decided weather i'll have the blue or the white pearl added to the clearcoat yet, but I will make that decision when I get to the bodyshop next weekend. Now the bike is being torn apart, and hopefully by tomorrow we will be able to get started on the prep work. Big Mike........who's looking forward to a new paint color as much as spring!!!!!!!

Rode to work this morning. When I left work saw lots of bikes, including a 2006 Black Cherry RSV at UPS in Louisville and a Midnight RSV across the river in Jeffersonville, IN.

Just got my BFG Radial TA 155/80/15 installed at Discount tire for $97 otd. Couldn't balance it, but once I told them it was for a trike (no its not) they had no problem mounting it. Took 90 lbs to seat the bead. Got an interesting tip about the white letters. They told me to wash the blue off and hit it with some flat black paint. Have to give it a try. Not a pretty story on how I ended up on the darkside. Had a Metzler ME880 blow on the high way, loaded with me, the wife and our new to us time out camper. Ended ok with no fatalities, but could have been UGLY.

Hi, Bought another 84 first Gen last summer. The factory radio was out and a nicely installed radio /CD player had been installed in it's place. The PO told me that he could not get the radio to work and thought maybe it was bad... I really did not care all that much last year, but over the winter I decided to check it out. Could not get it to power up... Took it to the radio repair shop , the guy tested it and it worked fine.. Home.... of course not... Situation.. there are 3 wires coming from the noise filter box. Red, yellow and Black. The Radio guy told me yellow -- power all the time for memory red- from the ignition Black ground.. Sounds simple right... however cannot get anything to work I'm an electronics idiot and thought someone on here might have more knowledge.. Thanks, Clay

I went to get my son from school again today on my 1999 RSV (58,000 miles). My clutch kept slipping really bad today. It done this on the way there and back. I bought this bike back in August of last year and it didn't start this until this year. I changed the oil in it last month before I did any riding. I used Mobil 1 racing 4T fully synthetic 10w-40. I bleed most of the black fluid out of the reserve and put fresh in it. It looked pretty clear in the clear hose I was using. Do I need to keep trying to bleed it or what? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks hairman

Does anyone on here know what a good price for an 06 Black Cherry would be. I'm going to be selling mine here in the very near future. My Father-in-Law passed away very unexpectedly and left me with his 08 Ultra Classic. I won't be able to keep both of them and I know the better half would rather me keep the Ultra. So my Black Cherry might be going to some very lucky rider. back rest, trunk rack, side bag rails (Side and Top), Wild Pig exhaust, Highway pegs, drink holder, CB, upgraded speakers with a four channel amp and it only has 9000 miles on it with all services up to date. I am looking to remove my passenger floor boards as I don't see being 2 up any time soon (wife isn't into riding) and I was wondering if anyone has figured out a plug to cover the holes that would be left behind. I know there is a chrome piece to fit in place of the black cover that has chrome plugs but my RSTD is a midnight and I would like to leave the black cover and find some kind of plug in black. Any thoughts or ideas?

Oh yeah, 65 degrees out today and the bike couldn't wait to get out of the garage. Came home from work and got ready and went for a nice ride. Something unusual happened while I was riding. I was enjoying the ride when the bike started talking to me! She, now I know that, said that she didn't like the name I had given her. She said Defender sounded too masculine, that she was a lady of sorts. She told me that she had overheard a conversation with Bummer about how Squidley's Charcoal/Silver was like wearing a suit but that our Black Cherries were like lingerie. So with that in mind and the fact that my Black Cherry has a Midnight seat on it we've decided to rechristen her "Midnite Cherri" (she insisted on the "i"). So now I know my bike is a lady and will treat her as such but I'm telling you she can run like a B***ch. What a strange way to start out the year...........but then, those who know me won't be surprised..... :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
