  1. Heres another helpful line. A co-worker that is a retired law enforcment officer told me to tell them "bring the guilty son of a bitc# in and I'll give them a fair trial".
  2. Hmmm I like the Denver idea. Sort of makes sense. Teabow while talnted, was lucky with what he did last year. As much as he ran the ball etc and didnt get hurt. Manning may be able. To not only help the team but be somewhat of a mentor type to bring him along. I thlnk he will go where the $$ are. Tampa seems to allways think we need another QB. LOL How about Oakland?
  3. Maybe didnt want to punch holes in that part of trailer to run wires and chance a leak?
  4. My 09 has the E 3's on it. They were on it wehn I got it. Big difference from the way I remeber my 900 being on the Dunlap 404's on it. I like the sure footedness of the E 3's. I just keep reading up on tires. I'm not sure what I'm going to buy for replacements.
  5. Yep for me thats the key. I have been had a couple times. Mostly my own fault as I didnt read the discription realy close. I thought I was buying one kind of light that look exactly like the ones alot of folks are putting on the backs of thier RSV. I got mine for a tick over 1/2 price of what guys have told me they bought thiers for. When I got it I now know why. Mine only had 3 LED's in it instead of the like 11 or whatever. When I went back to read teh ad sure enough it was there I just didnt look close enough. For the most part I've had good luck. Although when something I want says "China" I get nervious. Yea I know a bunch of stuff now days comes from there but I had ordered something from there a couple years back and it was during thier "new year" and it took like 6 weeks to get. They must just shut down the whole country.
  6. The J&M headsets are not bad priced if you get them off e-bay. I think I had $160 about in a pair for my gen2. I was looking at the Scala when I was thinking about going with a Kawasaki Voyager because the OEM headsets were rediculasly priced. That was before I knew you could go aftermarket. When I was looking into them you can get a "blue tooth dongle" and connect it to your bike radio I think and then it will play over the scala headsets. One of the few downsides to the scalas I have heard is they say you can connect to friends in a group, but the headsets are limited as to how many devices they can recognize at one time. So say you have your phone, GPS and bike radio connected you can probably only connect one more maybe 2 headsets in to yours.
  7. I remember reading on here somewhere about repairng/replacing the mount studs/nuts. I can see why, with the few times I have had mine apart them nuts are a PIA to get on.
  8. For what you pay for them I think a phone call or e-mail to the company would be in my future. See what they say it should look like.
  9. Yea I know sounds off a tad huh. The RSV is heavy too. I have lowered the front to help with that issue. I guess I should qualify my statement. When I got to the test ride the wife and I had just got of our then bike a VN900 Kawaskai. So you can sort of see why it felt heavy. Not saying the RSV aint by any means. I wish I could still get more comfortable at lower speeds on this thing. I feel like I'm close to dropping it alot. Those Vic's are amazing at highway speeds. We got seperated on the ride and had to catch up to the rest of the group. 80 in 4th on interstate was not even breathing hard for this thing.
  10. I have to ask man. Which studs? The mounting studs or the decorative ones on the seat?
  11. I look around Craigs list alot. Not knowing exactly where you are other than your signature says Pittsbugh I looked around what I thought might be somewhat close. Heres one in Amhurst Va. Asking $8k only 3400 miles 2006 model Heres an 99 model with 26K miles and asking $5500. Once you see the "custom" paint you can decide. Youll be seen no doubt!! Hughesville Happy hunting. I enjoy a good hunt sometimes. I didnt know how far you might be willing to go to look. Oh yea as far as I have been able to tell no gear whine, other than normal sounding trans stuff. Nothing that changes with speed or gears just contact noise when put into gear.
  12. Last time I bought T6 a few weeks ago I got it for under $22 a gal @ Wally World. I was in Advance yesterday though and saw that Mobil 1 20w50 was $8 a qt as is the 10w40 bike oil. Now if I could get someone to carry a "bike" oil filter besides fram I felt comfortable using. I am currently using the gold Purolator, but if something went bad wrong with the motor I understand the dealer could leave me hangin out to dry even though its a better filter than the "bike" made for filters.
  13. I have test rode them a couple times. I really liked it once was moving, really heavy for me in the slow parking lot stuff. For me #1 Cross country #2 my RSV #3 Vision. Happy trails.
  14. I just bought my 09 in Jan. 7400 miles and had as much warrenty left as the "new" Kawasaki I was looking to buy. I picked mine up for 11K and the asking on the Kawasaki Voyager was 14K on a year end clearence sale. I really am growing to like the RSV. Ever since I test rode it with the wife I grow to appreciate this bike. The "brand new" ones will give you a heart attack but a nicely broke in couple year old model that has been taken care of I think is as good. Shop around they are there. One thing I looked at was "if this bike sucked design wise would they have been making it for 10yr?"
  15. I am very fortunate that my local Radio Shack has a compent guy working there. Joe is a good guy and usually if I tell him what I'm looking for or sometimes what I'm trying to do he hooks me right up. I have been there when the "kids" are working. NOT A CLUE. If its cell phone or bluetooth or latest gadget they can tell you how it works. Old school stuff not a clue. If you look the part number up ahead of time and call they can look it up an make sure they have it I'm pretty sure. I bought just the ends I needed and used some speaker wire I had laying around and made some plug in's I needed on my old scoot.
  16. When I lowered my front end the way the wires were routed for some of the lighting up front made it bunch up. I lowered the front end and then had to take it all apart because I thought the faring looked like it was crooked, then a couple days later I had to mess with it because the riser extensions showed up. Well somewhere along the line the wire bundle got between the stops for the steering and it shorted out the headlight circuit. For years I trouble shot elec problems with nothing more than a test light. Now days though so much of the stuff runs with reduced power to a relay and then fired I dont know how much help a test light is. Heck I lost mine I dunno how many years ago and aint replaced it. I just use a multimeter.
  17. Possible, but like Shame said not probable. Did you put an inline fuse in? Is it wired thru headlight cicruit? Does headlight work if it is? I would pull a light and start from there if the fuse is burried in the faring. See if ya got some juice and go from there.
  18. Winter helmet?? Whats that? I guess thats when I put in the ear flaps or go with the 3/4 helmet. http://www.jafrum.com/Motorcycle-Helmets/Modular-Flipup?range=&sort1desc=F&sort1=Item_ONLINECUSTOMERPRICE Looks like they have some starting @ $50. I have had good luck with thier service too.
  19. Almost as soon as I brought mine home I paid up. I had looked around for awhile as a guest. I was pretty sure if I bought one I would spend the $12. I think I have got my money worth so far. I came of a 07 VN 900 Kawasaki, and your right a world of difference. But I am likeing it.
  20. OK for grins I just hooked up my gauge. Evidently I had read about building one of these as it had a valve inline you could restrict or completly shut off the line. If wide open the needle moves around so much you cant really tell where it is. Bounces from like say 10 to 18-20. When you close it off to where it is steady its about 10. So am I barking up the wrong tree with being able to use these gauges? Do I need to maybe build a vacum chamber to stableize the vacum? I guess I could use a piece of say 1/2" pvc and cap the ends and port it. Or just turn the valve untill the needle stabilizes and use that reading? 3/7 OK I read up on using gauges in place of the liquid type. It seems you need a restrictor inline or else it bounces to much. So I got a couple today. Tried it out and all 4 carbs appear to be the same. I say appear because it still has more bounce in it that I would like. Needle moves about 8-10 lb. So I think maybe the chamber may be next thing to try. Shoot I'd try a pop bottle or something if I didnt think it would collapse it. So of the fuel pressure/vacum test gauges have "snubbers" built into them I think. The gauges I'm trying to use are just "dash mount" types.
  21. I have a pair of round vacum gauges I mounted up to sync the carbs on my legends car (fj1200) It worked OK but the detailing is not as fine as the stick tool I see most of you all refer too. About how much vacum do these pull? Part of my interest is my milage seems to be all over the place compaired to my preceeding ride. My Kawai 900 was about 43-44 on my normal type rides say under 70 and expressway long distance was around 39-41-42, This bike is all over the place under 70 I have been from 33 to 41 expressway 35-38. Just wondering if maybe the carbs are a bit outa whack. Milage is only 8600 + - a few hundred.
  22. HUB so If I understand correctly the MP3 player plugs into the CD cord and replaces it. But you have to "turn it on and off" inside the saddle bag? Otherwise it stays on all the time. And it disables the cassete player (no biggie really I guess) but does the aux jack still work there? How about a pic or two of the MP3 player installed. I know if I take a longer type trip with the wife the CD player is outa there as we will need the room. If I was to take a stab at it I guess the MP3 player "format" is older so it will only "see" a 4gb card? I just changed over from a 2gb card to a 4gb for my GPS/MP3 player and I got like over 1000 songs on it and still got room. You must have A; ina goda deveda (sp) CREAM's greats long version hits and the like or B; alot of Opera long hair typ stuff.
  23. Man I thought I might be the only one that had that bad habit of using the GPS for a spedo. I have used the big part of my bag in the Kawaskai when I had it and it did make seeing the speedo a trick. On the RSV I have not used the bag yet. But with cruise control I should think pick a speed, set cruise and ride. Plus my speedo now is up in the fairing and easy to see, as long as I dont get the MPH and KPH confused. I do think the "big" cortech bags are discontinued. Mine is the 21 liter I think and they dont show a listing for it any more. They have some new bags out. But watch craigs list man I'm telling you there are some good deals if you have the time to watch and wait on them. The magents on my cortech bag are so strong I think they would peel metalic paint. Some of the less expensive bags aint so good.
  24. Geeze I was outa money right after I signed the papers.
  25. I have a RSV I got in Jan. I havent tried my cortech tank bag yet but I used it alot on my Kawasaki and it had the speedo on the tank. But its a huge bag. Actually 2 parts, I can fit alot of gear in it. I shopped around for probable 6 months on e-bay and my local craigs list. I finnaly got it off cragis list for about $40-50 I forget now. http://www.tourmaster.com/images/products/h_sku233.jpg Check out some of the bags here. http://www.leatherup.com/c/Tank-Bags/sortby_price/2/107.html A buddy of mine got a nice smaller generic type from http://www.cyclegear.com/ It had magnets and like a safety strap to run under the tank. Thats one thing with these you have to be careful of is to make sure the tank is clean when you put them on, otherwise they could scratch the paint. I have figured out where its going to sit and then put clear packing tape on the tank to protect it before also.
