  1. Talk about getting away with murder! If she'd have used a gun with the same result would they have just slapped her hand. The whole local motorcycling community should be camped on the steps of that courthouse demanding justice for Jana. I guess drunk driving in Canada has no penalty, and killing someone while drunk makes it ok to do both
  2. The free upgrade is on bikes converted within a 3 month span in late 2009 thru early 2010 is what I was told, and only applies to bikes built with the mismatched pad and rotor combination. WMMV
  3. Don't be such a wimp put a jacket on, You could still be riding
  4. Those covers sho is purty Now how can I win 1st & 2nd cuz I like em both.
  5. Don't be so quick to blame the cracks in the rubber manifolds. My '01 RSV manifolds looked terrible, DEEP/Wide cracks on all 4. When I did my valve check last spring I replaced all 4. I cut the worst one in half just to see and none of the cracks were all of the way through. The Venture uses an enrichener not a choke (butterfly) . Look at this fiche view, it may help you to narrow your search. http://www.ronayers.com/Fiche/TypeID/26/Type/CARBURETOR_/MakeID/4/Make/Yamaha/YearID/47/Year/2006/ModelID/1677/Model/XVZ13TFV_ROYAL_STAR_VENTURE/GroupID/340482/Group/CARBURETOR_
  6. Install a carb heater cutoff switch, it will free up some needed electrons. LED lighting will also help. There is a how-to somewhere on the forum, a search should bring it up for you. Sorry to hear of your RSTD's demise, glad you're still here to talk about it.
  7. These are yamaha pieces that are on my bike, I have Chucks on jeannies bike, you can't tell the difference to look at them. I think Chucks are better because they are Stainless not chrome, rust will never be a problem with Chucks.
  8. Stihl makes a good saw, I've had mine for a few years and it never fails to start. When you have an old 2 stroke tool that won't start after trying " Everything" Pull the muffler off it and submerge it in seafoam or your favorite carbon dissolving solution for a couple days, agitate a few times a day then after a few days rinse it with HOT water and blow dry. Put it back on the tool with some fresh gas and try again, it should start. What happens is all those years of combustion plug up the muffler. You can rebuild carbs and fuel pumps till the end of days, but until the engine can breath it'll never start. I've gotten 5-6 weed whips out of the trash that wouldn't start till I cleaned the mufflers, then they run like new.

  10. It is a slippery slope isn't it.
  11. You may get more winter ride time than us northerners but how many days during the summer does your bike stay home because of the oppressive heat ? We can dress for the cold, you get arrested if you undress for the heat!
  12. If you are careful, most of the time you can reuse the gasket that's on there. When I did my '01 RSV 2 years ago I was able to re-use my gasket, still no leaks.
  13. What'd ya get? One of them gubermint Obama phones?
  14. I don't get it, why isn't the bike in front of the trailer ? I thought motorcycles were for riding and trailers were for pulling behind them
  15. I thought you didn't have a boss anymore !
  16. That'll teach ya..... all I do to prepare for winter is a little seafoam and a battery tender. The bike is ready to ride anytime, like today, cloudy 31* , dry roads so a 100 mile ride was perfect I hope I get many more of those before New Years Day.
  17. I thought you didn't have one of those anymore
  18. C'mon John.... It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a Lions loss We don't want to break tradition.
  19. No, Peanut oil is much better, it has a better flavor and higher flash point.
  20. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving. A great day to share with family and friends. We'll be having 24 coming for dinner, should be a fun day. I'll be deep frying 1 turkey while the other roasts in the oven.
  21. I hope it works out for you.
  22. Sure doesn't look like the Tri-Wings I've seen, the front of the rear fenders look to be cut higher and seems to show more side frame.
  23. Can't help you with an inspection. I'm wondering what the kit is that's on it, never seen one like that before.
  24. Pitch all that tupperware and make it look like a real motorcycle
