I do miss deer camp. There were 21 of us that spent 2-3 weeks at our 1866 farmhouse that we called 21 Club or the Luther Hilton. We all hunted our 1600 acre lease that consisted of swamp, farm fields and rolling hardwood forest. When I first joined the camp the deer were thick as flies on cow shit! You could count on there being a nice snow cover on the ground, being in the woods or swamp was beautiful. At least half the guys would have a buck hanging by dusk opening day. As the years went by the deer numbers fell and the oldtimers began passing, it was sad to lose so many that were like family. After 40 years leasing the property (we owned the house) the land owners put the property up for sale, it sold to 6 different owners that had much deeper pockets than we had. It was a sad day. I withdrew from the club when i was forced to hunt surrounding public land.

My electric riding gear is good down to about 5° IN DRY WEATHER not that I'll see those temps here in NW South Carolina.

I've been considering going to an adventure bike. Looking at the KLR 650 S. Much lighter and I'm thinking it will be more versatile now that I'm living in the mountainous area of the country.

I run a BF Goodrich T/A radial on my 01 RSV, have been for the last 10 years. Rides great and grips the road well wet or dry. My first one took me almost 40k miles before I put a new one on because of age, still had better than 50% tread left.

So sad to hear of Don's passing. He was always fun to ride with, his jokes and wit always made your time with him interesting. Our condolences to Patty and his family and friends.

How will this law effect out of state riders?

Car, bike and trailer are 5393# plus a spare & jack
-
The car 2990# is a little nose heavy so I'm hoping the bike will take a little weight off the tounge. And the weight distribution hitch will take care of the rest.
-
The bike and car will just fit if the bike is straight on the trailer, with the bike at a slight angle it fits with out the tour pack hanging over the end of the trailer.
-
That's dry weight, curb weight is 869 if i remember correctly. What I'm looking for is how much of that weight is on each wheel.
-
Does anyone have an idea of the weight bias of a 2nd gen venture? I'm going to be loading my bike and our Saturn Sky Redline on my 21 foot car trailer and am trying to decide if I put the bike or car on first to get close to a good tongue weight.

Congratulations! Happy to hear mom ans baby are doing well. It doesn't take long, my 3 year old grandson is already riding a 2 wheeled ebike on a dirt track! He's s actually pretty darn good at it.

3" and freezing rain here in Pickens county,SC Been here 5 years and it's the first snow, wet and heavy. So heavy it turned the homestead upside down ! LOL -
Looking for southern border crossers that have smuggled in nukes one piece at a time and are now reassembling it. Hoping to pick up the radiologic signatures. Brandons legacy!

We were on the BRP on Wednesday before the hurricane reached the area, the rain from another storm rolled in before noon, it was torrential rains that made it difficult to see let alone ride in to escape down the mountain! It brought 6+ inches of rain before the hurricane got here. I had 31" of rain at home between Wednesday afternoon and Saturday afternoon!

Not getting out as much as I'd like to, the heat and humidity have moderated now so I plan to put on more miles.

Sad news indeed, our condolences to Dan's family and friends. R.i.P. Campfire.

That's usually how it goes! Can't wait to see what curve balls my 09 jeep throws my way when I drop the gas tank to replace the left rear upper control arm. I'm going to fill the flame wrench tanks before I even get started.

Rick was a huge help when I did my forks. I replaced all the bushings in the forks while I was in there. I do remember using some well casing PVC pipe as spacers to set the spring pre-load, I can't remember what length I cut them to. I had a long conversation with Cowpuc about setting the sag/preload, it was a long time ago and I don't recall the specifics.
