  1. I have a 1986 voyager and when I looked at the new one at the Calagry mc show I thought they should have kept the name plate in retirement. I was not impressed enough to even sit on it and as far as I am concerned they ruined the nomad also.
  2. I feel your pain and there is a little girl that I take with me everytime I go out.
  3. I think I might be able to make a trip or 2 this year. I am already planning a riding/rafting trip this year to Llyton B.C. but not sure of the dates yet. My rafting guide and I will set a date later when time is closer but if I can make it I think it would be alot of fun for this one also. When a date is set and a location is for sure please post and I will see if I could make it to this one also.
  4. I have seen tones of lehmen trikes here in Canada, as a matter of fact there are 3 for sale in Red Deer the other day. I also seen one sitting outside the honda dealer in Red Deer on monday that looks like he drove it there, snow and all.
  5. I think everyone should run right out and buy this system, that way you all will find out what a piece of @#$% this system is weather factory or not. There is 3 trucks in the drive way that has them right from the factory, and I wouldn't buy a vehicle with it if I could still but some tofo fartin fairy has put this system as law on every new vehicle and soon it will be on everything with a tire. I can wait till they put it on my wheel burrow.
  6. Before things start to get busy for everyone I thought I would send out a MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone. This will be my sons first christmas, my parants are here, my brother and his kids are comming and my father in-law will be living with us for 3 weeks. Then on the Jan 6 my son will be 1 year old and on jan 10 motorcycle show. For everyone travelling at christmas time have a safe trip and have a great time with family and friends.
  7. This year I installed a j&m interatr IV on my bike. So far it has been a nice little unit but I haven't got the second headset so for communications I am not sure yet. I installed it in the right bag with the extensions for rider and pass with the remote ptt switches for both. I also went with the volume control cords so each person could control the level of sound. I have bought the cords for the cb and for the 2 way radio but I don't have the cb yet. I just got the 2 ways at the end of riding season and they work in the back yard. It has a input for a mp3/satt radio and I do have my satt radio installed. I do like the unit so far and one can go cheeper than I did but I wanted everything hidden so just plug the helmet in and go. I will have the headset and cb before riding season and try it this spring. Right now with temps down to -37 it isn't high on my list of needs but my sons 1st christmas is. Pm me if you have any questions and I will do my best to help out. I also went through sierra electronics for everything but the main unit( I heard about them after I had ordered the main unit for a local dealer) but I would buy it from them. That is where I will get my cb and second headset from.
  8. I wanted to go for a ride on christmas day but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. -27 here right now and snow drifts that go on forever. Only thing for me is snotscicles.
  9. I have put a santa, raindeer and slay on the roof, lights around the house, race car, motorcycle, deer, angel, 5 set of 5 snow flake lights, 5 snow men, 16 candy cains and a star all on a music box this year. We have had problems in the past but I did it for my little boy this year. We have had lots of people stop to look as they drive.
  10. I don't know about the USA but the Canadian highway traffic act states 1 set of fog lights to be rated with a sae f rating to be on with the low beam lights only and 1 set of driving lights with a sae y rating to be on with the high beam. Both set of lights have to be below the headlights, if the lights are hooked up wrong or don't have the rating they are to be covered and off at all times while on the road. This is what the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told me when he pulled me over for illegal lighting on the front of my truck. I asked to see where it says it in the highway traffic act, he opened the book and showed it to me and let me read it with my own 2 eyes. I went home and made the changes to make it right with the law to avoid being pulled over again. So far I have never had a problem since. Again this is the canadian highway traffic act but I can't see the USA being much different than that as we go to the USA with our Canadian vehicles.
  11. lots of differance between the ultra and the street glide but yes that would be a option.
  12. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had the cash, that is the nicest ultra I have seen. I like the street glide but that ultra turns my crank. I like it so much I saved the picture of it, I hope you don't mind.
  13. My first bike was a honda trail 70, had lots of fun with it and don't know the year likely early 80's. First trike was a 1985 honda 125. First quad 1995 kawasaki bayou 300 First street bike I bought 10 years ago is my 1986 kawasaki voyager X11 and still have it. Not sure what or when I will get the next one.
  14. I hope they don't put this in place in Ont. if they do it won't be long before it gets into the rest of Canada. I was on the back of a gold wing when I was 8 years old and amagine that I am still here. I think that is also why I love bikes so much and I can't wait to take my son for a ride with me, but that will be a few years yet as he is only 9 months old.
  15. Not enough, but with the new baby it is hard to find time to ride. When he gets a little older maybe more riding but for now I will live with the plan of a riding/rafting trip in the summer to BC for a week. So far the wife is on board with me going and I have missed rafting for a couple of years so my time is due to get my feet wet.
  16. I went with the j&m intergratr IV for my voyager. I installed it in one of the bags and used the remote mount kit for rider and pass with the volume control lower cords. I have the cords for the cb and motorola t radio and a satt radio input. I still have to get the cb and one head set from sierra but the sound is good from the radio. My wife doesn't go with me much since our boy was born so I am in no hurry. I have the motorola radio now but need to try it going down the road. I hope to have the other parts before riding in the spring then I can give a good update on how the whole system works.
  17. I would like to see the video and promise not to copy it and to send it on when done viewing it, if I am not to late. Thanks Dwight
  18. I questions a police that pulled me over about lighting on the front. The motor vehicle act in Canada states you are allowed 1 set of fog and 1 set of driving lights. The fog lights can only be on with the low beams and the driving lights have to only be on with the high beam. They also have to have a sae f rating for fog lights and sae y rating for driving. Both sets have to be located under the headlight line of the vehicle. If lights are above the headlight line they have to be covered. Even if you have the rating but they are hooked up with just a on/off switch they may give you a ticket. I am not sure what the law is with the passing lights beside the headlight. He said nothing about min high just lower than the headlight line. I have one set of each hooked up on all my vehilces except the bike I only have driving lights hooked up on it but I have them with a on/off switch and may change that this winter. I used a set of cb antenna mounts from a big rig I bought at the local truck stop to mount my lights to the crash bars. This is also how I mounted my highway pegs to the crash bars.
  19. I have not made up my mind about it. It sure is different than what I thought they would come up with. I will have to see one in person before I can say what I think of it. Maybe they will have one at the motorcycle show this year in Calgary then I can compare it to the venture and the street glide. What to do, what to do, but keep what I have for now.
  20. I don't know about that stretch of road but here in Alberta some of our roads are really really really boring. I go up to see my brother in NWT and the vehicles fly by me like I am standing still. I tried keeping up with a mini van one day but I backed out at 150km/h and he was still pulling away. I have slowed down alot since I grew up and have a little boy now.
  21. Find someone on here who wants floor boards and make a trade with them.
  22. Maybe the wobble is from the road pops:whistling: It looks good to me. What kind is it and where did you get it?
  23. Last year I used 2 sets of safety glass 1 tint and 1 not. This year may wife and little boy bought me a set of harley transistions for my birthday. They were expensive but worth every penny in my opinion.
  24. I just finished making the front and rear for my bike. I used the harley davidson flamed floor board inserts and made a underplate for them. I also made the shifter and brake pedel to match the floor boards. So far I like them way better than the pegs.
  25. I spend my winter on the computer, building models, looking after our new little boy and just being a bother to my wife. When they build a 4x4 venture it will help us northern people to get through the snow.
