I agree in mid to late june/july/august would be the best times. I have only been on the road to the sun one time in a car. We were married in may and a few years back went to whitefish for a holiday and it was closed so don't go to early or snow becomes a factor. Whitefish was a nice place also if you have some time. Waterton is nice and you can cross the boarder real close to it, it is like a little Banff or Jasper. It might be a good place to spend the night on the way to Banff after the road to the sun ride. When we go to Banff area we usally stay in Canmore it is out of the park, a nice little joint it to Banff/Lake Louise and it is cheaper. If you are camping most of the campgrounds in the park don't take reservations they are first come first served. If there is anything else you need or want to know just ask and I will help the best I can.

I haven't taken the bike there but I have taken the truck there. What are you wondering about the area?

Kit......I joined here to find out more information about the venture as a possiblity for a new bike to replace my voyager. I have read lots of good about the venture and as well as some of the bad things. I went to the harley web site looking at a bike for my brother and then I seen it a flhx(street glide), I liked it so I went to the harley dealer and there was a nice black one there now I want it. The price isn't much different than the venture yes I understand that the venture has more options but I still like the harley. If things were different I would have bought it right there and took it home but I need to wait a little bit. I still haven't give up on the venture as a possibilty of the new bike but I like the harley.

Thank you all for keeping us up to date on how Gary is doing. Gary and his boys need our prayers not only for a healthy recovery but for there loss as well. They are in for a hard road ahead all of them and knowing people are praying for them and here for them might help out a little.

I haven't made up my mind on the modulator headlight yet. One thing I do see with it is at a quick glance if someone was in a hurry they could mistake it for a signal light. The light is flashing that person is going to turn and away the car/truck goes. Like I said I haven't made up my mind on it yet and I may not any time soon. There is only one goldwing around here with it on and I have only seen it a few times so I don't know.

I have been looking at the hd street glide. That is a bike that I can see myself on. I may try and rent one for a couple of days next summer just to see how well I like riding it.

I hate checking trends like this with another biker down but I do to check and see if people are ok. Thank god they could walk to each other and call you for help. I have no idea what you felt getting the call either But I know it wasn't easy on you either. I am glad everyone is ok and will heal.

dome lights for luggage
silvercrew replied to Howie257's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The other day on e bay there was a light for the trunk of a voyager X11 but not sure if it is still there. The switch came with it so when you open the trunk the light turns on. I have never taken my trunk off so I don't know how it is plugged in. If you want to go to wal-mart and buy a couple of lights and then get some door pin switches from napa. You can also buy little flat plugs for lights so you can unplug them when you want to remove things. The plugs are a 2 wire plug just like the 4 wire flat plug on most trucks today. The wiring is easy just a power and a ground wire into each compartment. The more light the better inside or outside. -
I am looking at upgrading my current leather jacket with one that is cooler in hot weather. I have looked at a few but the one I like the best is one from buell. It has a liner that zips out and and the front opens up to let air flow through it. Does anyone have a jacket that they like that sounds like the one from buell. If so what kind is it and what style.

Ya'll won't believe this
silvercrew replied to ediddy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Maybe it is time for a v-max upgrade or check the allignment. I think if you are going through more than the rest of the riders there maybe a issue with your bike. -
You did a awesome job, it looks like it rolled off of the showroom floor.

Black tape on wires suck as it will sooner or later start to shrink and leave a sticky mess. If you are making a harness for some wire hockey tape works awesome, it won't shrink and with it and wire loom it looks like factory.

On my ummmmmmmmmmm voyager the battery goes dead all the time if you don't ride it for a week. No I don't leave anything on just one of those trates of a voyager. So this year I wired up a cig lighter and installed it under one of the covers on my fairing. I then got a solar panel and put it on the roof of my shed. I have no power out to the shed even though I am a electrician. The panel I got wasn't water proof it is suppose to sit on the dash of a car so I built a glass top to keep water off it. It worked good but it was only 2.2 watts. This spring I will be installing a new panel I got from work that is 55 watts. With the bigger panel I got a charge controller that maintains the voltage of the battery as to not overcharge it. Now everytime I want to go for a ride the bike is all charged up and ready to go as long as I remember to plug in the panel. I love solar. Juat a option if you don't have power close. This is what I will do with all my future bikes venture included.

Premeaux Batwing Fairing
silvercrew replied to bobbyduck's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I went to the calgary bike show this weekend and seen destination cycles there. They had one mounted and playing music it did look like it could have been there from the factory. When I seen it I thought of you and got their web site but I see you already have it. Maybe they will be at the Edmonton show also. -
Premeaux Batwing Fairing
silvercrew replied to bobbyduck's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
This was one of the fairings that I was considering for a nomad then I came here and have changed my mind to just buy a venture when the time comes for a new bike. They do look like a nice product but I haven't seen one up close. What about a fairing from a venture? -
Yesterday I went and looked at a set of redwing riding boots number 968 and 970, both pairs were $249.99 Canadian. My wife and I have paid for a trip to Las Vegas for the Nascar race in march so I was wondering if anyone could help me out on a US price for the boots. I will be very near a redwing shoes on our trip there so I was wondering if I should wait or not. Any help would be great. Thanks

Sorry I don't know how to post a picture here yet but maybe someone can help m,e out. To anyone wanting to know what voyager speakers are like take a look at my pictures. Mine are not factory kawasaki and they didn't come on the voyager until 87,88 or 89 on the trunk. Mine I got the speaker boxes from radio shack for about $9.99 canadian but they do look fairly close to the oem part. I just wired mine into the front speakers. My wife said they make a big improvement to the factory stereo.

I was just wondering if leather or some of the other material would be better for protection. I have seen lots of jackets made of different materials at the bike shops and got to thinking would some of the other material be cooler and offer just as much protection as leather? I want to start replacing our riding gear with new stuff and wondered what we should go with. I am going to get new modular helmets and red wing boots so what about gloves, jackets and chaps?

I would also like to know what kind of conversion it is on the bike. It sure does look good.

May God be with you and help you through everyday. I know he helps me through the days without my little girl. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

What is the purpose of putting the hoses back on if you have installed a plug in the inlet? Could you just cap off the hoses as well?
-
How do you get the sig to show up under a post? Sorry I got it.

Is there a quick way to find members in your area or do you have to search through the vr assisatnce page by page? Thanks all
