    Venture gets towed

I dont know on a bike going that fast but i use it HOPING it will help. I do know that on my BIG mower,Kubota ZD21 I use ride on and I hit a landscaping metal edge, gouged a 4 inch slash in the tire , it BLEW,scared the C&%#$ out of me but it only went 1/2 way down and sealed totally...now the mower weighs 1100 LBS and I know a big difference in a bike, just a personal experience with the stuff...Also was only doing maybe 10 mph

    Ride On?

I use it and no problems..when you change tires it is VERY easy to clean out, just wet rag and wipe. Went on a 500 mile ride yesterday once up to 100 and no vibrations. Tom
  3. As much as I Love my RSV,if you REALLY like the Thumper sound forget it on the RSV..The closest I can get to describing the sound even with aftermarket pipes is that of a Chevy V8 with glasspacks. I cam off of a Road Star and it is a whole other bike,Heavier and takes a little getting use to but after you get use to it you will never look back(Unless you like that thumper sound that much). The RSV DOES have a characteristic whine from gears/clutch basket but some it bothers others it does not. For the buck its the best you will buy. Tom
  4. I am 240 wife 190 or so..I got REAL good at handling the bike,THEN had her get on and teach her how to ride as a passenger and PRACTICED ALL maneuvers in an empty parking lot MANY times..Slow turns handlebars cocked all the way left turns, then right,Sudden stops ETC. Now with that said even when she is on the back I ride VERY conservative as she cannot afford to hit the ground AT ALL due to some medical problems. I also use the Avon tires which as far as I know have the highest rated maximum load of any tires that I personally know of. Use common sense and be careful. Tom
  5. Goose, although I never tried the smaller size front tire and I do not have leveling links I can tell anyone that just the change to Avon STOCK size tires made my bike much easier in handling. Mine came with Dunlops and I can say they wore well but they were horrible on our Texas roads that had grooves cut in the road. I do not knock the guys with Metz and I hope they have continued success but please watch them close, mine failed at 1700 miles.
  6. I didnt get a picture..or is it my computer? Redneck I came thru Odessa today and yesterday, next time I will stop and have a cup if you get time..Was in my Wal Mart truck though. Tom
  7. I will stick with my Avons..if they wear out I will buy new ones. Everyone be safe. Tom
  8. I know it must have felt good Gary.Look forward to riding with you again..hopefully soon.
  9. Call Southwest Moto..in our Vendor area,I have a friend with a roadliner, only 1 tire that is that size so you are hooked.
  10. Basically we ride all year long. If we get snow it usually isnt much and gone by the end of the day. That only happens MAYBE 2 times a year. It may snow ,then get up to 60 before end of the day. Our biggest problem is HOT during the summer but cant have it all.
  11. Yes..I never take advantage of it unless She is with me. At times when She feels OK we will park other places but if its a "Bad Day",Yes we use it.
  12. I just bought an Aluma MCT..price 1499 on the internet,( dealers are asking around 2000-2200 for them. It pulls great. LED lights etc ..well here is the link. http://www.thomasamerican.com/trailers_for_sale_detail.asp?StockNumber=3025
  13. Alright Goose..I dont need tires at this time but if you get a bike or two up there that you are going to do the tires on let me know as I will come up and watch(Help if you have the patience)so I will know how to at least take off my rear tire and put it back on!Maybe you ought to have a maintence day..Id buy some Flanders bars and throttle cables and all the brake lines to get things off to a wild weekend! Tom
  14. Odyssey but if you dont ride it alot keep a battery tender on it.
  15. Ive got handicap plates on mine for my wife..Sure was fun one day when a cop told me not to park there that is was for handicapped....I told him "I know that" and started walking away.He actually got quite verbal until I told him to look at the plate on my scoot..
  16. Mine took 1700 miles...Metz was gonna replace them but NO WAY with all the write ups on them would I have them on my bike.I just chalked it up to a BAD experience and put Avons back on.When you come down ride mine with the Avons, you will be pleased.
  17. Did you Sync the carbs afterwards? Mine did basically the same thing and when I synced them it is normal now..May have been just me but it seemed to work..One more thing make sure the choke knob is pushed in all the way.Ive done that before too.
  18. Will do Jim..I have been busy with my Dad.I may be posting info on how to rebuild a Evinrude XP 175 outboard..That will be an original on here! Tom (Will call soon)
  19. Thanks BikerJohn! I rode past it last year thinking it was Harley only...Now I am kicking myself in the B-TT for not stopping! Tom
  20. My life and especially Debbys isnt worth the risk,,I use Ride On but if I get a nail or whatever in it the tire is coming off ASAP and replaced. When my Metz 880s started coming apart at 1700 miles I took it back to dealer and they offered to put another set on..NO THANKS,I went back to Avons and threw the Metz in the junk pile..As I say my life and Debbys WAY more important!
  21. Brian,Yes it is an Aluma MCT,in the small size,13.4 cubic feet storage. Has the Torsion axle, LED lights and 175 LBS. Pulls fantastic! In case anyone is interested The people here in San Antonio area were all wanting 2100 and up Dollars..Got it from these folks for 1499 plus 240 shipping. http://www.thomasamerican.com/trailers.asp They were the cheapest I could find and it is a 2009 model. Ive seen alot of Wings pulloing them and it fits my needs.
  22. I am probably wrong but I always thought that was a Harley only get together???I do not know for sure though.
  23. Well I am different! Here is the new trailer BTW..
  24. If you can find off of a Venture the rack under the box and a box from one being parted out it will bolt right on..I would also think with some modification skills the Harley tour pack could be made to work..I saw one on a RSTD at Luckenbach a few weeks back.
