  1. I dont think the Elite is in the stock Venture size are they? They may be in the smaller size but when you run Avons in MY OPINION,not to stir a hornets nest, it is unnecessary to run the smaller front tir size, the Avons Stock size made a world of difference on mineand yes Ive ridden hard, very hard rain, wet snow and high winds plus rain , never slipped. Tom
  2. Same here, but what helped most was riding from Here in Texas where I live to and thru Tucson,AZ,Phoenix,AZ where the winds were a sustained 38 MPH gusting to 45+ MPH..My rear end made a very tight pinch mark on that seat BUT,After that trip the Texas winds we have here are NOTHING and the higher winds, I just hold on , relax a bit but be aware and let her loose. Tom
  3. Yes it is Wayne..I think I need to tighten it just a bit,(adjust the tension) but the bike is smoother thatn it has ever been.Took Debby for a 100 mile cruise with the trailer and very enjoyable..EXCEPT for the 102 degree day! Tom

  5. Ive got 6 0r 7 but they are better than Yamahas! Send address,Tom
  6. Buddy,I got VERY Pi644ed Off and called California and they said they did not know when the backorder would be filled ..I said not good enough..Pay for your cost on my new shock and I will quit calling so they did it,got the check from the local Yamaha dealer. Tom
  7. Ron I have all LEDS on my trailer and it does not hardly affect the output..Also LEDS on the taillight.
  8. Let me know if you do it..I know ALL the secrets on the installment now! Piece of cake but it does help to have 3 hands. The only real conflict I had was the lower spacer on the shock was just a hair to wide for a perfect fit but grinding just a very very little and it fit like a glove.
  9. Got my Works Performance Shock This AM and Installed it.A BIG Thank You to Ponch for letting me question him on the installation. Yamaha paid for 338.95 of it and I footed the rest of the bill and installed it. It took about 2 hours as I kept screwing up and could not get the bolt in but working with the jack and feeding the bolt at the same time I got it. ALSO A Big THANK YOU to Rick at Buckeye Performance for his help in getting it in just a little over 2 weeks.he was VERY courteous and I appreciate him putting up with me! Initial Eval is I like it ALOT,Have a few minor adjustments and it will be perfect. Again,Thanks Ponch and RickH. Tom
  10. I ran max pressure in mine when I had them and it lasted 1700 miles before it started chunking rubber..I know some run them on this site and no trouble but there is a pattern of failures that says loudly that there IS a problem. For those who continue to run them PLEASE watch them close, the first thing you will notice is small cracks then quickly start chunking. be Safe,Tom
  11. Bill,I test rode one a few weeks ago and YES,the footpegs were VERY much in the way..I also have bad knees and it bothered me in that position, does it bother your knees in that semi tucked position? Other than that a FANTASTIC bike. Tom
  12. Snake,Hipshot is VERY close to Rockport,I am sure you will hear from him or drop him and email from his profile info. Tom

  16. Never had a problem here
  17. Yamahas is what they call 17 inches,if you buy from clearview there equvailent is 22 inches as it leans back toeards the rider a little more. If you go to clearviews website it will show which is the standard Yamaha size in THEIR lineup..
  18. Actually a large beer cart with iced down beer!
  19. For future reference just about any time you make a mod on the bike engine wise you will probably need to resync the carbs. Its really easy to do if you get the Morgan Carbtune and follow the directions from this site..Even when I changed the plugs I resynced the carbs. Be Safe,Tom..Ever need any help if you get a morgan carbtune my number is in the members list and I will talk you thru it,after you have done it it only takes abot 10 minutes!
  20. No offense to the mechanic but I have found no Yamaha mechanic that really knows the V4 that well..If you change the pipes there really is no need to rejet, but sync is a MUST. I would bet that someone close to you that is a member would be happy to meet up with you and get them synced. I bet it resolves the problem. Tom
  21. This solves alot of the heat problem
  22. I may take you up on it if my shock comes in! Thanks,Tom
