    Speed?

Yes it is common, some people use a"speedohealer"to fix the problem but i just live with it.
  2. I will be watching the plans..I am off that day but have to go back for my weeks work Sunday AM (Early)so if nothing else maybe I can do part of the ride..sounds RELAXING,a mild ride sightseeing and just an easy day! Tom

  7. Call me when you get down here.I live in Blanco,TX and I can give you some ideas.8307080314. I will be in New Braunfels the first part of Saturday Morning but home in the afternoon. Blanco is only 45 mins to Fredericksburg. Tom
  8. I have not had or heard of any clutch problems..I know some have added a heavier spring or something as such.
  9. Principal..just tell her it also has air rideon both ends and if you up it to a Royal Star Venture you have a lot of good music! Not to mention a good looking ride!
  10. I own a Royal Star Venture, same engine etc. The RSTD is just more of a cruiser set up of my bike and indeed a great bike. Now,If you like the thumper sound of a V Twin it will never sound that way but if you just want a great bike it will last you a long time. That said it has its quirks as do most any bike. You will notice a gear whine, slight, but if you dwell on it it will seem to worsen. Also expect after a little while you will hear a clicking noise from the rear end area...It is usually dry splines that Yamaha will fix(Lube the splines). Put a set of Avon Venoms on it and the handling is greatly improved. NOW just ride it like you stole it! (This covers why not and why you should buy it...I think.) Tom
  11. I would not rejet. I have Krome werks on mine and have had samsons and all you NEED to do is do a VERY good carb sync. Mine runs VERY good without rejetting.
  12. Another simple thing is boots with a thick sole.
  13. OK Lowell..I got one more night on the road then should be home by 3-4 tomorrow afternoon but Debby is expecting you 2 if you are early!Dont eat as Debby is fixing a Turducken, with dressing, for us for Friday evening...Thats gonna stump afew!Tom To every one else again,Sunday at The Salt Lick,Driftwood,Texas we are getting together for some eats and a ride after..dont know where, everywhere around there is NICE. Look in Meet and Eats for info under Texas Meet.
  14. Im in my truck in the sleeper in Huntsville,Texas! I tie to the handlebars and bring it carefully down between the faring and lower leg guards and it does not move.
  15. Goose.looks good,by the way what does the water temp run on these anyway? If ya can get down to our little meet Sunday at Driftwood,TX.(Salt Lick BBQ)
  16. Jim,after the meet Sunday I only live 35 minutes or so from the Salt Lick so we will ride on out and I will show you my set up. I use a Condor Front wheel stabilizer and can show you the tie down set up..Heck if you want just use my trailer.Need a brake controller on your truck though as it has brakes. Tom
  17. 18. Run some Sea Foam thru it..Put in a heavy dose and drive about 30 minutes it will probably clear up...Also if you have it there a produck made by BG Products called 44K is VERY good

    An early spring?

All this winter talk is SOOO depressing........I think I am going for a ride,60 degrees no cloud in the sky,I will dress appropriately and ride !
  20. All good advise, one thing in my opinion use a hand pump to put air in the shocks.I use one from a bike shop that has a gauge on it. You can pick one up at The Harley shops also.If you ask Yamaha for one they usually have a blank look on their face. Here is a pic of the kind to go for.Click link http://www.cbxmanmotorcycles.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=GP-0-60&affid=4 can get a better price just a reference. The reason I say use this type is I believe alot of people shoot too much air in the shock and if not weaken it,blow the shock seals. WHERE IN TEXAS? Blanco,TX here. Tom
