  1. I sold my 2007 Venture and my 2008 Stratoliner last fall and bought a 2010 Electra Glide Classic. So far I'm very pleased. Join hdforums.com, you won't believe how many former Venture and Stratoliner riders are on there. I'll always be a Yamaha guy though, I've enjoyed 3 Royal Star Ventures.
  2. I had a 2009 Chrysler 300, great car. Now I have a 2010 Challenger RT, even better. No problems with either car. I can't take my Hemi Orange Challenger RT anywhere without getting asked about it. There does seem to be a problem with the back tires on my Challenger, they smoke when I step on the gas.
  3. I liked all three of my Ventures. (1999, 2004, and 2007) But no changes since 1999 is not exceptable. Would I change the current Venture drastically? NO. I like the styling just the way it is. I have never liked the Royal Star wheels, ugly. Put on cast ones like the Road Stars. Narrow white walls like the Electra Glide. Time to change the fairing, put in full gauges. Satilite radio. Same engine, just bump it to 1600cc and add fuel injection so it has more low rpm pull. Anything else?
  4. I sold my 2007 Venture last month. Riding my 2008 Stratoliner S. I like the Stratoliner, but its not a true touring bike. What I don't understand is why did they spend all that money on the Vmax? They know they will only sell a few. A few upgrades to the Venture and it would be a great bike. And the Stratoliner Deluxe, what a have hearted attempt. No cruise control, small gas tank, no radio, no gauges in the dash, and no high mileage tires. At least this year they could have offered it in a color besides black, and put the S model chrome package on. Next spring will be time to trade. Right now I would say a Cross Country, or heaven forbid, a Electra Glide.
  5. My dealer told me the 2011 Yamahas, opps I mean Stars, will be released on the internet on 9/1. I sold my 2007 Venture and am now riding my 2008 Stratoliner and waiting for something to happen. If anybody is looking for a new Venture, the Tomahawk, WI dealer had a new 2009 S model for $14,700 plus tax. Quite a deal.
  6. Well I sold my 2007 Venture yesterday. I am riding my 2008 Stratoliner until next spring when I plan on trading it in on a full dresser. If I had to buy one now it would by an Electra Glide. I'm hoping Yamaha comes out with a new full dresser this fall. I don't care if it has the Vmax engine or the Stratoliner engine. Just do something!!!
  7. The surprise is how much they raise the price.
  8. I don't no why anyone would put anything but a Dunlop Elite III on. I have 16,500 miles on my rear Elite and still not to the wear bars.
  9. Christo, you now have a problem that I have. When I go out to the bike garage in the morning I have to decide which one to ride. The Statoliner or the Venture. I almost sold the Venture the other day but thank God the guy decided to buy a new one.
  10. I've got over 14,000 miles on my Elite III's and still thread left. He may have been measuring from the wear bars.
  11. I purchased two Gold Wings new, a 1992 and a 1995. Now I know the 1800s are different, some say better, some say not. My point was I put 42,000+ miles on the 1992, and 18,000+ on the 1995 and I found that they were to good, to the point of being boring. I switched to Royal Stars in 1996 and have had 5. Now along with my 2007 Venture I ride my 2008 Stratoliner. The Strat gets most of my attention.
  12. 26,900 miles on my 2007 Venture and still love it. (I've had 3) But the Stratoliner S I bought last August is getting most of my attention these days. My friend just bought a new Victory Crooss Country. Now if Yamaha learns from Victory, add cruise control, full gauges in the fairing, satellite radio, and put some Dunlop Elite IIIs on.
  13. I have over 14,300 miles on my rear Dunlop Elite III, and still not to the wear bars. I would say another 2000 miles left. Just put a new rear tire on my Stratoliner, only 6150 miles to the wear bars on that. Sadly Dunlop does not make a Elite III for the Strat. I run 41 PSI on my rear Elite III.
  14. A far superior ride? Nav, ABS, Air Bag? By your logic my Chrysler 300 is a far superior ride. Some of us want to ride motorcycles.
  15. Yamaha must be having some fuel pump problems. They just replaced the pump and relay on my 2007 Venture with 26,000 miles. However there was some good news. I bought the bike from a dealer that went out of business right after I bought it. They never registered the sale with Yamaha. So the dealer I took it to had to register it as a sale before he could get the warranty work done. I just got a letter in the mail from Yamaha thanking me for my purchase. 2 1/2 years added to my warranty. Can you believe it?
