James, the real bottom line is how does the bike feel when you swing a leg over! There's been many a bike I thought I'd like but changed my mind the minute I mounted it. Of course you do want to research whatever make/model you consider for issues, etc and ride it before you buy it! You'll know when it's the bike for you!! Glad you are able to get back in the saddle again, good luck!

R1 brake upgrade results

Checked fleabay today and the only master from a Road Star is a bit rashed up and they want $85!! Guess I'll wait a while to upgrade the front master. I got a set of gold dot R1's this week as well as SS lines from Earl and EBC HH pads so I'm ready to go else wise. I'm going to paint my calipers silver and clearcoat them. Kind of proud of the gold dots so I'll keep hem gold... -

Actually, they put them in there to trip the sensors at a traffic light. Tupperware doesn't work on those metal detectors! Wait, I know, they are there to scramble radar detectors so the police don't know how really fast we are going...

You could try a black sharpie and color in the whole thing. After it dries then take a product such as Meguiars for plastic or Armorall and spray the part but do not buff it out but rather let it dry for a day or two then buff it out, you will almost be able to see yourself in it!

I have that same hitch on my '84 but my link arms are chrome whereas yours look like they were homemade. It had a sticker on the inside but the name was unreadable but I think the address was somewhere in the middle states like Nebraska or something like that...
