I can't tell you how it compares to wired as I've not ever used it. My wife & I have the Q2's & love them. It's nice to be able to talk to her about choices, i.e., " How about lunch here?" "You wanna shop over there?" We use them when she's on her bike, as well. They work great. I'm not sure how long the batteries last, probably depends a lot on how much you gab. As far as I know, the batteries aren't replaceable (unless you send it back to the manufacturer). I use mine every day to & from work for about an hour & the battery is good for at least a month. I might spend 5 minutes each day on the phone with my wife on my way home, checking for anything I might need to pick up at the grocery store, etc. I only charge it at the beginning of each month, unless I'm going on a trip. Then I'll take along the charger. Hope that helps some.

This is the one I'm thinking of getting. It's not cheap either, but, I like the size & features. You can stand up straight inside. Well, most people can.

That there was funny.

Yep. I ride in it just about every day. My riding gear keeps me dry. Bike gets pretty dirty, but, I bought it to ride it, not park it.

The VStar lamps will work. I put them on my RSV with the RSV light bar. So, if one burns out, easy replacement.- 15 replies

Click on VR Assistance in the left column & then you'll see how many there are to the right.

Inactive meaning expired? That would be a never ending job. Oh yeah, that's Don's job.

I've got one! I've got one! I've got one! Oops, sorry, got a little excited there. Back to topic.

Yeah, I thought it might be some of that, too. I agree about the $12 -- non-issue. I know of a recent slight issue with misuse, just hard to believe that it could scare that many people off. Never know, I guess. Really is too bad. I tend to be the trusting kind. Especially with this can of nuts. Yes, I include myself as one of the nuts.

Maybe, but, the annual fee has been in place for a couple of years now & the numbers have only recently gone down for VR Assistance. Most of those on the list are expired, for that matter, anyway. I just assume they still offer their help even though they're no longer a supporting member.

Wow! Anyone else notice this? We used to have between 2000 & 2500 on the books, but, now only 992. Anyone got an explanation for the drop? Less trust? I found this out by looking to see who might offer a place to stay the night in those areas I might be headed this summer. Just wonderin'.

HID Headlight...now what do do with passing lamps
awsmsrv replied to TheKid's topic in Watering Hole
Get the Venture light bar & the V Star passing lamps with H3 bulbs. That's what I did & put in the PIAA extreme white (4150K color temp). They match my PIAA extreme white plus (4000K color temp) headlight. Much whiter than stock, but, certainly not like the HID. -
Will this work with the vented windshield?

Replacing fairing clear protectors
awsmsrv replied to jryan's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
How about a nice coat of wax? Did that to mine & they look brand new again. Cheap & easy. -
And look! The antennae are reversed. Amazing how often I see that. And that's a factory photo. Sheesh.

About the same here today, but, when I rode to work this morning it was only 27°F (-3°C). Gotta love those heated gloves. I was perfectly comfortable for my 30 minute ride. About another hour until quittin' time. Woohoo.

How about just removing your phone # & leaving your email addy? You might not be able to help at the spur of the moment, but, if someone just wants a riding buddy for part of their trip or local info, you could still do that. Just a thought.

How 'bout this: The first person to explain how he/she has dropped his/her bike more times than the # of years he/she has owned it. (For the life of me, I don't know how I came up with that one.) Or, the first person to be grabbed by a Pond Monster more than once. No wait, "sponsors" are ineligible. (Besides, did it really happen if nobody saw it?) I know, the first person to prove that the VentureRider Guardian Bells actually work. (Is it proof when nothing bad has happened? Yet.) Or how 'bout . . . . PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE ANONYMITY OF THE POSTING IN THIS THREAD OF THIS ONLINE FORUM.
