My ST1300 came with them and I'm not sure if I like them or not. It's like grabbing onto a hot piece of pipe while the outside of your hands are still cold....weird sensation to me, yet I still use them.

Fwiw, I bought a set of head lamps from LMC trucks....junk. Very cheap quality.

Louisiana dotd has begun putting rumble strips on the center line of state two lane highways. Just a narrower version of the ones that are on the shoulders of the interstates.

I heard someone say two things a man will lie about (may have been on here), one was fuel mileage and can't remember the other one. I do think there is some truth to riding two up, on one trip I got 40 mpg (best EVER) with the wife on flat roads at a true 70 mph. The rest of the time it avg between 32 and 37. 06 rstd.

What a way to go, being paraded on the hood of a truck and dumped on the side of the road....if I heard it right.

I don't know bout the tire shop (not disagreeing with you),...I stopped a dump a few months ago and out of ten lug nuts he had six that were loose on the steer axle. In this case, the driver never took the time to pretrip or posttrip his truck. It had been like this long enough for it to start elongating the bolt holes. He would have drove it till the wheel would have eventually stressed the lugs and broken off. There's not alot of driver's out there anymore that actually take care or inspect their equipment. And alot of companies who don't care if their equipment is safe and the drivers will tell you thanks for stopping me and inspecting my truck, cause the owner won't fix or maintain it.

Fwiw, he can go to safersys.org and go to company snapshot and enter the company's dot # and see what their safety stats are, if they have a dot #. Will give you an idea of what kind of carrier he's dealing with. Knowing what I know now, they're alot of unsafe carriers our there.

I'm still getting acquainted with my new to me 07 ST1300a. Rick is reworking my seat today.

I think it's krylon that walmart sells for around $4 a can. Awesome stuff, had a buddy paint part of the roof on my vehicle after the paint peeled off. Looked awesome from $8 and 20' away.

Fuzzy, leaving my ole friend was hard....times I loved it, times I wasn't sure. All I can say is I live and learn. I had it a little over 3 yrs and will take some, but it just may be buyers remorse for trading it. I just wished the fuel mileage would have been better and a little smoother power train, other than that its a gorgeous bike. I'll give the ST a fair chance, but if it doesn't work I think a RSV will be in order.

I know some will say, "why?". I've wanted one prior to getting the rstd and finally took the leap. Found an 07 w/abs with 35k miles. Any how, i'll try it and see how it goes. If it doesn't work out it's gonna be an rsv or gw. Part of me hates to part with the rstd....and I may or may not regret it, time will tell. Will post pics when I get home with it.

Maybe I'm just tired, but can not find the detailed instructions on how to install the flanders bars on the rstd that the Navy Lt wrote up. Any help?

Just curious....did you put the kick stand up or the kids or......

I've noticed that when I'm low on fuel (1-2 gallons), the engine picks up a vibration at different rpm ranges, similar to the carbs being out of sync. When I fuel up it goes away and runs very smooth. Could it be vent related? Thanks in advance. The following has been done: Fuel filter replaced this spring. New plugs (pulled the tank). Sea foam treatment.

Before you purchase it, have the dealer see if the clutch basket has already been replaced with the "I" basket. If not, Yamaha will do it one time under warranty. Not sure if you were already aware of that. -
I would check state laws in the state your planning going through. Like La. they aren't required on trailers less than 6,000 lbs. Have you considered small diameter cables? Alot of boat trailer manufactures use them.

The ones I've been to especially with 100 degree heat....they usually take a break once the service starts. Then reform towards the end of the service, which isn't to bad. Depending on how the heat affects you, if you need to find a shade don't feel like you can't leave...just give your flag to another member....it's your health. Seen several fall out from the heat to locking their knees. The funeral homes down here are inconsiderate and will schedule the services at the hottest part of the day.

People like that are my motivation to go to work.....its even more rewarding when you actually catch them in the act.

Sorry I can't help you, but if Natchitoches has one I'd be happy to pick n ship for you.

Just being cautious, especially anytime you have to leave it unattended and can't put into a hotel room, etc.
