  1. Can't seem to find a thread on this. Does anyone use engine ice as their coolant in the RSV?
  2. Which set of Progressive springs for the front?
  3. Any one have experience with the My Best Buddy Trailer. Looking into getting one and would appreciate any comments good or bad. Thanks.
  4. The cruise on my 08 quit working last week even though the cruise light would come on. On pressing the set button the set light would not light up and the cruise would not engage. I took the fairing off covering the fuse box for the cruise and pulled and cleaned each fuse there. none were out. I then put pressure on each wire connection box just to make sure they were making contact. re-attached the fairing and went for a ride. Cruise worked fine and has been no problem since. May not be your problem but just a suggestion.
  5. Has anyone had to adjust the length of their kickstand due to lowering their bike. Mine is going in tonight to be lowered 1 inch and I was wondering if I would have to shorten the ks to make sure the correct lean angle was maintained. Sure would hate to lay this thing over.
  6. take hiway 7 south out of Harrison. Little town of Jasper has a favorite eatery for bikers on the far end of the block on the right. Stay on 7 south of Jasper and there are a couple of viewing areas. I usually turn off to go to the SMALL towns of Deer, Nail and Swain and pick up 21 north that takes you through Boxely Valley. At the intersection in Boxely take 43 north that takes you to Ponca and back to Harrison by way of Gaither Mountain. 7 is VERY curvy and a bit of construction is just south of Harrison but always a favorite of mine. Can't remember the hiway number to Deer. Weather here can change on a dime. Just be prepared for anything. Another is to go east on 412 out of Harrison to Yellville which is towards Mt. Home. Pick up 14 south out of Yellville to Mt. View which is the folk music center of the area. May want to stop a bit there just to take in some of the local culture. Take 9 south out of Mt. View to Rushing and Shirley and on to 65 north at Clinton. 65 takes you back to Harrison. Hope you have a wonderful and safe ride in the area.
  7. Thanks for all the info. I can see the $12.00 will be a good investment. I ordered the barons risers and lowering kit and a set of elite 3s. Previous owner rode with under inflated tires and even with only 3200 miles they're pretty well cupped. All comes in on the 13th so next week will be very busy. Probably will need help with cable re-routing if anyone has done that before.
  8. Yes, I have a VTX 1300 but these are for an 08 RSV. I guess at my age I just forget to include all the facts. Sorry 'bout that.
  9. Thanks for the quick response. Going to order out today.
  10. I want to order out a set of Elite 3s but can't find any one with a rear tire that matches the number in the manual. I've checked Dennis Kirk, Jake Wilson, Directline, Motorcycle superstore, and some others. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Picked up my 08 RSV today and with a 140 mile ride home I had time to make a mental list of things I need to do. First, I need the handlebars closer. too much of a reach so the old back lets me know it. Riser a possibility or different handlebars? Second, need to lower it also so i guess barons kit will be in the mix. Third, The old butt burn after bout an hour. What seat mods are available? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Going to pick up the RSV tomorrow with a 2 hour ride home. Really looking forward to it!!!
  13. two years left on warranty and only 3200 Miles. Very comfortable ride!
  14. Took a test ride on an 08 RSV today and yes the whine is there. It wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. My question is : does this whine get worse as you place more load on the engine such as riding two up or pulling a trailer. Really liked the bike. Just wanted some info before I take the plunge. Thanks.
