And they wonder why insurance premiums are so high already. Betcha if the insurance company or maybe even worker's comp gets ahold of this, they will sue for payments received if the lady is receiving disability benefits. On disability means you ain't riding bikes. If you can ride a bike, you can work even in a limited capacity. ___________________________________________________________________________ I understand what the thread started out as and for the most part stayed with. The above post is what set me off. I'm sure it wasn't met as it sounds and I should of thought about it longer before I posted and keep my thoughts to myself. Like I said it hit home. No harm done and it's time to put it to rest.

I guess because the seating is so upright and ergonomically correct. I also talked to my Doctor and Surgeon about it and that's what they said to me also. My Surgeon told me "By all means ride it" said it was good therapy, and would get me moving around. Just told me if I drop it not to try and pick it back up. Got to follow Doctors orders don't I?

On another thread people made comments about a women who was in a motorcycle accident who happened to be out of work because she was on disability. I'm 100% disabled and would rather be working. (I made lots more money) Until this last back operation I couldn't drive my van for an hour without pulling over and getting out because of the pain. Can't ride in cars because I can't get in or out of them. If I go in a store for a loaf of bread I have to use a shopping cart because if I'm on my feet for more then a few minutes without something to lean on my legs go numb and I can't walk. I bought a special office chair with a dozen adjustments so I can set down without pain at home because regular living room chairs won't work, when I visit someone I ask to set in a kitchen chair so I can get back up. Sleep most of the time propped up setting in the corner of the couch that a friend built a frame to raise the height 8" so I can get in and out of it. If my home caught on fire at night I'd just would have to burn up because when I wake up it takes about a half hour before my right leg will work good enough to take more then a step or two. BUT I can ride the gold wing with back rest I had or the 1st gen Venture with back rest that I have now all day and feel better then anything else I can set in or drive. Friends even joke that I should find a old Venture frame with a seat and put it in my living room. And try applying for a job with such a bad back and see who would hire you. I tried, I didn't want to go on disability, I've worked all my life and wish every day I still could. So because I can ride "certain" motorcycles I'm faking?? There are a lot of people faking and using the system but because someone can find something in their life that they can still do don't lump them in the lazy bum category. Heck having sex is harder then riding and I'm not going to give that up either. So sometimes people need to know all the information before such broad comments are made. Sorry I took it so personal but it hit home.

I have been using the ECHO Quick Release for years and they are supposed to exceed the DOT requirements. I have never had any problem with them. And they are made in the USA. http://www.echoproducts.com/

Never taken the Lake Express before I have always taken the SS Badger out of Ludington Mi. to Manitowoc Wi. if I'm heading North West. Beats the long drive up and thu the U.P. and anything is better then the loop thu Chicago. I hear the Badger takes a hour longer then the Express but it is sure relaxing after a long ride especially on the trip home.

Was at one time Michigan State Certified Mechanic for Cars, Light Truck and School Bus. Was School Bus Mechanic then became Director of Transportation. Could not put up with all the Women bus drivers so went into Auto Service management at State level Auto Service Centers. Then Auto Service Manager and/or District Manager for a National Chain of Service Centers, then to Auto Service Manager at Dealerships for Ford and Chrysler. December 2001 broke my back in three places and couldn't do it anymore. -
I have owned 1 Harley years ago, bought it new. In 8 months the dealer had it more then I did so I sold it and bought a Honda. BUT to be fair that was in the Harley AMF years.

Nice bike, would be great for running around town and weekend trips. I would like that DN-01 for running around on but that's a whole handful of money for it.

Bike was dropped off to Skydoc on March 5th for all his updates and other work also. Recovering from back surgery so can't do it myself so why not have the master do it at his "Little Shop by the Creek". Hopefully I can start riding after my Surgeon checks me out April 27th.

Putting a lot of money in my 83VR right now and in the next two months. Had to sell my 2003 GL1800 July of 07 and couldn't go without riding. Want to upgrade back up but after putting a little over 10,000 miles on the 83 last year figured the upgrade can wait and want to get the 83 more reliable, better millage and stopping better. I also decided that whenever the time is right to upgrade the 83VR will stay.

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! Even at lower pay it's more then likely better then you could of found in Michigan if you could find anything. Michigan is becoming a Minimum wage , part time working state. :thumbsup2::thumbsup2:

Had it happen to me about 3 years ago on both big toes. After 2 tries at clipping doctor went in and removed ALL of the nails completely so they would not grow back. Needless to say no more problems. And those shots in the toes really hurt don't they?

The last national automotive chain that I ran one of their stores TRIED to set policy that when hiring if the applicant had bad credit scores not to hire them. Their reasoning was that the person that has money problems would present a higher risk for theft. The lawyers for the company said that could and would be considered discrimination and was dropped.

A regular heat wave here, supposed to get to 48F today. All that nasty white stuff starting to disappear.

Good Ole Michigan, will let you do about anything if they can tax it. If our Governor grants 3 people permission to grow medical marijuana it will somehow create 15,000 new jobs. 15% unemployment are only the people still drawing unemployment. Doesn't matter if you have a job or not, if you are off unemployment you don't count. Couple weeks ago on the news they reported that Flint is close to 45% unemployed in the real world. Got to move South, Got to move South, Got to move South. I'm coming Alabama.
