  1. CONGRATULATIONS. I pray everyday things will go right so I can get out of this State. Hope everything goes well.
  2. Here in Flint whenever the light turns green you have to stay put until everyone is done running the red lights, A few years ago I'm stopped at a light and when it turned green an old Lincoln across the intersection from me takes right off and gets hit by a Caviler running the light. 4 Teenagers jump out of the Lincoln, and 4 teenagers jump out of the Caviler and they all take off running in different directions. Just a typical day in the armpit of America.
  3. That happened to me once when I was using AOL. It was NOT in my computer, I had to contact AOL and they took care of it. Someone had gotten access to my mail box and was sending 1000's of e-mails and instant messages using my mail box. They had me change my password and then was apparently able to find and stop it. I spent 3 days running spy ware and everything I could find and nothing helped until I contacted my then server AOL. Good Luck.
  4. I have a set of the Chrome rear side bag protectors / crash bars you can have for the cost of shipping. I bought them off e-bay a while ago thinking they were something else. Plus when I bought my bumper trailer hitch another set came with them too. PM me if you want them.
  5. My Daughter loves to ride, rode with me last year from Mi to AR to Tn, KY, NC. Thats why my 83VR is getting complete updates on everything. I ride not to crash and the only other thing I can do is make sure the bike is in the best mechanical condition possible. Would feel awful if anything ever happened but can't keep her locked in a bubble all her life. I'm glad she likes to ride as much as I do. What I need to do is find better gear for her to wear when riding but hard to find in her sizes.
  6. I still say US 12 is the best all around riding road I've ever been on. Nice riding along that river.
  7. What a beautiful area to ride. Couple years ago riding to the west coast we stayed in Dilloin Mt and headed north on 278 to 43 west to 93 North to Lolo then headed west on 12 all the way to the coast. Some of the best riding on the entire trip. Idaho is breathtaking. One of the stops along 12 in Idaho.
  8. Would be wise to stay to the South while traveling West this time of year. I went West in mid June on a Northern route and still ran into cold, sleet, and snow. Came back the Southern route and it was a great ride. When they put those gates down across the e-ways up there your not going anywhere.
  9. We had a black Lab that chewed everything. Well one day I made a sandwich set it on the coffee table and went back into the kitchen. Come back out and sandwich is gone and dog still chewing. I made another sandwich but this time put a large amount of Frank's Red Hot Sauce on it. Set sandwich down and walked away. Peeked around corner and saw the dog eat the sandwich and take off running to his water bowl. Dog liked to chew up all the kids expensive tennis shoes so I put a drop of hot sauce in each shoe. Then went and put a drop on or next to everything that dog liked to chew on and wasn't supposed to. Dog wouldn't go near any of the things. Good thing I never had to put the sauce on anything again. Dog would only chew on what was given to him. I'm a firm believer of Frank's Red Hot Sauce.
  10. You are right. You earned it.
  11. I very large biker all decked out in leather pulls into a gas station to fill up before his ride. Two of his equally large friends pull up next to him and asks: Bubba where we off to a biker rally? Bubba replays NO. Then they ask: are we going to a country bar and see what trouble we can find? Bubba again says NO. THEN WHERE ARE WE GOING the friend yells. Bubba turns and says: We going looking for Daffodils. Sorry I couldn't help myself. Of course if my bike and back was ready to ride I'd be out looking to. LOL.
  12. Ok waiting for the April Fool.
  13. Just spoke to Beverly and she said it would be best to call ahead to get the lower rate if you are already booked at the higher rate. She said they can change it at check in but would be best if you called ahead.
  14. Just called Comfort Inn and got the $62.95+Taxes for the 18th and 19th. Beverly said she is sure glad the Oberlin Inn messed up. Said to tell everybody. She's excited to see all the bikes. See you all there. Thanks Carl. Canceled Oberlin Inn.
  15. Thanks for the light tip. I was planning on replacing them with LED's. I plan on putting LED's on the chrome trunk guard with lights I picked up a few weeks ago. Thanks again.
  16. I got lucky and nobody else bid so I got it for the opening price. I think I got a good deal. Next to hunt down a trailer.
  17. Go STATE!!!:clap2::happy65::banana:
  18. Works great with the micro fiber cloth just so the bike isn't to dirty. Just keep it off the wind screen. I keep the spray and wash in the bike always along with the Armor-All wipes.
  19. Last year I loaded down the bike with camping stuff and went from Michigan to the Hub in Arkansas and hated the ride with all the stuff. At the Hub I shipped the camping stuff home USPS for $30.00. Best 30 dollars I ever spent. You might think about shipping it out there and back, then you only have to ride loaded to the campground and back to Vegas.
  20. Read this today on the Sickshooter Motorcycle web site. Popular motorcycle attraction, Dragon's Tail possibly closed for months Friday, 26 March 2010 | Written by Shaggy | Print | E-mail If you notice some motorcycle enthusiasts with a lost and worried look on their face, it may just be performance anxiety. The anxiety has nothing to do with any personal issues, but losing the opportunity to flex the motorcycle performance muscle as Mother Nature closes the king of all 'twisties', the legendary Dragon's Tail. 20Located primarily in Deals Gap, North Carolina the mountainside eleven mile stretch of road boasts a mind-blowing and constantly leaning 318 curves attracting bikers and drivers alike from all over the world. A rock slide has blocked the road with authorities expecting the route to remain closed until July 31st while crews cleanup. The rock slide, occurred on March 14th just as traffic by motorcyclists and thrill-seekers was about to pick up. The clean up process is expected to start on April 1st. The southbound lane was reopened briefly after the slide but was closed again because of safety concerns. The Dragon's Tail runs through both North Carolina and Tennessee, the rock slide has closed the road from near Chilhowee Lake to the North Carolina line. The Tennessee Department of Transportation will be responsible for awarding the contract to clean up Mother Nature's mess, but its the amount of time the job could take that has local businesses relying on tourism worried. "There's a possibility that we could lose the business," Jody Montgomery told Knox News discussing the Punkin Center Motorcycle Resort, located near the Dragon's Tail, "No one realized what impact it (the road closure) would have on this community until now." Authorities say the time is needed for contractors experienced in rock slide clearance and stabilization to transport the specialized equipment needed for such a job.
  21. Was reading about Honda looking into buying out Harley Davidson when I came across this story in today's Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel about Harley stock rising and increased public trading in speculation of a takeover by KKR & Co. of Harley Davidson. http://www.jsonline.com/business/87811297.html
  22. Still have mine also. Not sure if I'm going to switch or not. Did not like the reviews I read about the Comfort Inn. But did not like that Oberlin Inn said my room was good for now and they hope it does not change.
  23. Just sent $14.00 via PayPal for 1 bell. Thanks.
  24. We always called them John Wayne's. Don't carry it on me but keep one in the kitchen drawer. Haven't used it in years, had to go see if it was still there. Of course haven't had c-rations in years either.
  25. I just called to check on my room for the 18th and 19th and was told my room is still good "AT THIS TIME". Asked her if my room may be canceled at a later date? All She could say was " I hope not ". Told me it was construction at the Motel itself. So I believe I better look into other Motels to be safe. Would hate to get there and have no room.
