  1. It's the time of year where county fairs, carnivals and outdoor events with rides spring up everywhere. So the next target is: You, Your bike and one of the above listed events with rides in the back ground.
  2. Wheels Yamaha. Oxford Mi 48371. Look in mirror for me.
  3. Had same problem until another member told be not to fill reservoir all the way to top. Bleed fluid out to little over half full and took care of 80% slipping. Then installed heavy duty clutch springs and was good to go.
  4. That's a good one but my favorite is still the women that sued Black and Decker because of injuries to her husband. How did he get hurt you ask? She used Black and Decker electric hedge trimmers to cut her husbands hair. Why was it Black and Decker fault? It did not say do not use them for cutting hair on the box. I do believe she lost.
  5. Don't give up just yet, they do great thing nowadays. I've had 3 surgeries on my right knee and 1 on the left. My right knee was doing just what yours is doing before the last surgery on it. Best of luck on the surgery.
  6. Best riding weather we have had so far this year and what am I doing? Out working on the bike trying to get it running so I can ride. Hope I can lick this thing today.
  7. When I restored a 79 Honda CX500 that had been setting for 11 years I must of tore apart and cleaned the carbs a dozen times. Run good awhile and then start messing up. Finally took the gas tank that I thought I had cleaned over and over again, had it acid dipped, then used the 3 step POR sealer treatment and had no more problems. Seems was getting "pealing" from inside tank and plugging jets. So fine the tank petcock fuel filter and inline fuel filter wasn't catching it. But I'd find the fine material in the carbs. Just a thought.
  8. Need to stick to the part time relationships, and many of them. No matter how much they say they "love" you they are always trying to change you. Who are they in love with, you or the person they think they can change you into? And if you ever feel the need to live with them, move in with them and keep your place, a lot easier to move out then to move them out. My LAST marriage to Hell Women cured me.
  9. Been looking at the Interstate the last 2 days. At one dealership no matter what accessory I asked about he said they could get. The dealership today said he didn't know if any accessories were available. I looked on Hondas web site and could find no accessories listed even though the pictures of the Interstate under accessories showed a passenger back rest, different side bags and a carrier bag behind the passenger back rest. I must have a drivers backrest or I can't ride with my bad back.
  10. Went and looked again today. Looked at the new Honda Interstate, ST1300 and the new Honda NT700V. Want to stay with liquid cooled and go back to fuel injection. Can't afford a GL1800 and need to be able to trade in the VR to help with down payment. Doesn'e seem to be very many used bikes around here right now.
  11. Must be you in the reflection of your engine cover taking the picture?
  12. Went and looked at bikes myself today. Started out to look at a used wing but just missed it bu 1/2 hour. People was still there that was buying it. At another dealer they had a new Voyager and a 2009 RSV with 6000 miles for $13000. I thought the Voyager looked nice but didn't go over it close because I was not interested in buying it. Felt real good setting on it. Going to a couple other dealers farther away Monday to see what they have. Gotta spend this weekend trying to get my 83VR to run without having to keep the choke on so maybe I can trade it in and upgrade.
  13. You will Love it. I sure miss mine and getting another as soon as I can. I'm 6'4" and was more comfortable on my GL1800 then on this first gen. ENJOY.
  14. According to a friend that owns a body shop, the adjusters around here try to get you to accept the LOAN value using the N.A.D.A. book. http://www.nadaguides.com/
  15. I was only in the hospital 5 days this last time. As soon as they see you can get up and down ok they get you out of there. And they will do it sooner knowing there is someone at home to take care of him. I would of got out a day earlier if I would of had someone at home to help. But it wasn't worth getting married for one day less in hospital. LOL. But I had visiting Nurses everyday. See you both in the morning, should be around 9:00am.
  16. GL1800, Had one and can't wait until I can get another. My perfect bike.
  17. Sorry I got you laughing when I called, I won't tell what got us laughing. Don't forget about that "special" exercise we talked about, The Doctors right it does help. Get Well Soon. And REST!!!!
  18. Thank You Master Tree-A-San..
  19. Now my ignorance shows. We have a lot of maple trees in Michigan but don't know if they are Japanese, Russian, Canadian or what. Never done a background check on a tree. LOL. A picture may help.
  20. Very Nice!!
  21. Thanks for the offer. I will be picking it up and hauling it back by trailer. I did not get new plates for it yet because as soon as I get it back home it will be torn down for painting. I know if I plate it first and start riding it won't get painted until winter.
  22. Good News. If we keep doing what the surgeon says we should come out OK. Hang in there, 2 more weeks is nothing.
  23. Went to surgeon today and everything fusing together as it should. No more back brace and time to start therapy. Asked the Doc if I can ride the bike now. At first he said no, but I told him I don't ride a Harley, that I ride a bike like a Goldwing where I set straight up and have a back rest. He said OK. So soon as I get the bike back from Pennsylvania it will be riding time. :big-grin-emoticon:
  24. What a great thread. Agree with almost everything said. I ride with a number 1 rule "Ride to be seen" I try to place me and the bike in the most visible spot to be seen. 4 lane roads bother me the most, if in left lane with cages turning right, if I can't see cars at the intersection then they can't see me. Seems like that's when cagers like to pull out in front of the turning car. Trouble is they don't always stay in the right lane when they do it.
  25. Our Governor was born in VANCOUVER BC. Maybe that's where it all went wrong.
