  1. Prayers and best wishes for a speedy low pain recovery.

  3. Well Medicare says they MUST give me my money back for the non-working back brace. Says it's in the contract to get paid by medicare they have to take back any and all equipment that is unable to be used as designed. Stayed very calm and polite every time I talked with the brace company, the surgeons office (who they blamed) and Hospital (who they blamed) and Medicare. Since the billing had not went through medicare yet they will also loose the balance of the $1290.00 medicare would of paid them. Medicare told me to take the brace back tomorrow and get a returned item receipt with payment. If they will not do this I'm to call medicare back from there and they will tell them again and will stop all payment to them for ALL medicare claims until they do. Does not pay to mess with Venture riders. Feel a whole lot better. $389.60 for the bike.
  4. Got in touch of the company that made the back brace that couldn't be used. Said they would have to review the case tomorrow and would get back to me on what they decide. Say it will take 4-6 weeks to get my money back if they approve it. They act like it's my fault the hospital didn't call them to make one that worked. Figure if they refuse to pay me back I'll call medicare and tell them and then go to court to get my money back. As far as back goes, lots of pain and hard to get around. Just got called back already, they refused because it was a custom order back brace and they were not given a chance to make it right. Got to start making some phone calls. Things going a little rough with the diabetic insulin, giving me the shakes and blured vision. Thanks all......Karl NEED TO RIDE.
  5. Wow, my fingers went on quite a rant. Health Care nurse just left and it wasn't the same one I talked to earlier and all went well. Thanks for the words and prayers.
  6. Got out hospital last night because health care nurse was supposed to come over this morning and change dressing and teach me how to give myself shots. Found out I'm a full blown diabetic while I was in there. Well she finally called me around 1:00 today and asked me if I had everything for her to come out. I told her I was told she would have it. She told me I needed to have "all that crap" before she got there tonight at 8:00pm. So I quit taking my pain pills so they would where off, so I could drive to the RX and get all the "crap" I needed. Not supposed to drive but need shots and dressing changed. All these Michigan Women getting paid by Obama to go to school and do this stuff has HUGE attitudes. In the Hospital they would bring meals and set the tray against the wall and leave. I was strapped in a bed so I couldn't move so I couldn't move to get tray and eat. WASN'T THEIR JOB. So they would come get the FULL tray and leave. Nights was Ok they were real nurses and would help without asking but during the day it's full of people that have to work to get their F.I.A. checks but do not want to be there. Do I sound pi$$ed, YES. Doctors and RN's coming in and telling you what they need to do and the helpers leave you laying in your own blood and drainage for two days. THEN the infectious disease doctor coming in and lecturing you on keeping clean. Yes by all means let the goverment FIX health care. Oh that $1290.00 brace that took 1 1/2 months to get? They took one look and said thats not the right type and will not work. Now Physical therpy tried for over an hour and the brace would not work. They called a different company, the guy came in, measured, was back in the morning with the perfect brace. Of course medicade only pays for one brace every 5 years. Calling medicade in morning telling them about other brace and if other company won't give me my $389.00 co-pay back then a court we are a going. On the bright side I'm still alive, my balls a swollen up so big (they don't know why) I can't set on the crapper without pissing everywhere in the process. Now I'm going to take a hand full of Vicodin 750's and check out for awhile. Sorry for any discrepancy with my language or political connotations but I think health care was better when people were there because they wanted to be there instead of having to be there to get a government check. Skydoc, can't wait to see you, gotta ride. Rant done, time to go to la-la land. Thanks.....Karl

  9. Good Luck and hope you have a fast recovery.
  10. Have to be at Hospital at 6:00am for surgery, maybe they will do it this time. They say 3 times a charm. A 100 things I wanted to get done before I went in but not gonna happen, Really hard just to walk so I'll catch up after I recover. Also decided this will be a good time to try to quit smoking, 5-10 days in hospital without them should give me a good head start. I'll really be glad to loose this weight I've gained since the back went out again. Last time I gained 80lbs and dropped it real fast after surgery, hoping I can drop this 100lbs as fast. Well if all goes well tomorrow I'll be back on in 5-10 days. Wish me luck.
  11. Must be an RSTD, no trunk.
  12. 25 with the last one making it to the news. Fun Fun Fun but not as much fun as Tiger had.
  13. My bike is put up for the year. Need to get these people from down South that has the warmer weather and rubbing our noses in it to play.
  14. 1995 Pontiac Transport. Never thought I'd drive a mini van but after the first one (put 360,000 miles on it) I bought another one. Just so versatile and great in snow. This one up to 240,000 miles and when it wares out will by another one.
  15. Some States have special insurance requirements to ride without a helmet. http://www.iihs.org/laws/HelmetUseCurrent.aspx In Michigan there is an ongoing push to make it the riders choice, but the State wants the rider to have a special insurance policy to ride without a helmet.

  17. This is from Yamaha. I tried all of these including the sanding, plus the headlight bezel cleaning kit and most everything suggested on this site. Finally just paid the $110.00 for new windscreen and been happy ever since.
  18. I tried the headlight cleaning kit at my friends auto body shop. It did not help. Looked like the gray film was in windshield it self. I bought a new wind screen and nothing but clean water and lint free cloth touches the new wind screen.
  19. Just waiting for this surgery and then the recovery to get over with so I can move South. Then I can tease the Northerners too.
  20. Just called a friend of mine who does repos. Here in Michigan anyway (he believes all states) they are only allowed to take the vehicle or vehicles that has a lean against them for that loan only. They could only take the Wing if it was used as collateral for that loan. And he said they always know what make, type and serial number of the vehicle they are picking up.
  21. You all in the South talking about the cold. One thing for sure it will get warmer there long before it will here. Besides that's just payback for teasing us with your "great day to ride" posts while we are dealing with the snow and cold. Welcome to a taste of the North.
