I installed an AGM battery and to turn off battery warning light I just sniped off the probe and connected the wire to a positive terminal of the fuse box and it seems to work fine. I just read the mod in the First Gen tech library and the post said to use a resister in the line before hooking the wire to a positive terminal. Is there some reason a resister should be used?

Royal Buffet sounds good. Just say when. 201 North Euclid Avenue Bay City, MI 48706-2941 (989) 686-3388

If you make it into the Keweenaw the BEST road in the whole state is there. 26 from Eagle River to Copper Harbor is Awesome. Have your camera ready. Just thinking about that road makes me want to head up there.

Taking 28 is better then 2 but when you get into the Hiawatha National Forest take 123 North to Lake Superior Shoreline Rd. Take it east and it hugs the south shore. Take it to the Mackinac Trail / Co Rd 63 North into Sault Ste Marie. Good ride, rode that way when I did the Lake Superior Circle Tour.

I plan on being there on the 17th also. Wouldn't mind meeting for lunch.

Muskegon to Milwaukee. But depending on the time of day I-94 is not that bad and gets you north of Chicago fast.

Progressives....too stiff?
KarlS replied to tpalshadow's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I agree that you should use 12oz fork oil and 0-3 psi in front shock and 65 psi in rear. Was advised that by another member because I thought it rode to rough also. I weigh 280 pounds and left the progressive spacer intact. Some cut the spacer in half. -
Thanks for doing this. I've been thinking about the Canadian conversion. But you pictures show that the Ultra may be the way to go.

Used to have all sorts of trouble with banks so I switched to a credit union and have had very little trouble. The couple of times that I had a problem (1 time was my fault) the credit union took care of it fast and made things right. Never again will I deal with banks.

Don't know if there is a rule about getting your own target, but I'm pulling out to go get lost on the bike somewhere. So if I encounter any animals I'm going for the target.
-
And the next target is set by my Daughter: You, your bike and your pet or any animal in the background. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

One picture of my Daughter on the bike. The other picture my Daughter and myself on the bike with me taking the picture in the mirror.

When I saw a Canadian drinking a Mexican beer I thought the world was coming to an end. But figured you were just taking a beer world tour. Glad you two made it home safe.

Guess it's how you look at things. 39 years riding bikes and driving cars, no bike accidents 4 cage accidents with no major injuries. Years ago when I was young was taken a shower, sneezed and ended up in hospital for two weeks in traction. Stepped off the porch and blew out my knee. Three knee operations. The big one, went to go down in the basement, slipped fell and broke my back in three places. Years of physical Therapy, 2 back surgeries and everything else you can think of, now 100% disabled. Life just hands you the cards and you have to play them the best you can. My bike is my drug, no matter how bad things are or how depressed I get I jump on the bike and within 5 minutes nothings bothering me. I came home refreshed and in a good mood. Sometimes we just have to hold on to something that is just for us. Now I included both my kids in riding and my 12 year old Daughter won't let me get out the drive without her. Good Luck on whatever you decide.

Well finally got bike running great today so rode over to a friends house to show him. So I pulled up to his garage where he and another friend was standing next to a 79 Moto Guzzi and as I stopped I slowly fell over on the left side. (Just like Arte Johnson on Laugh In). The loop on my tennis shoe laces caught on my shifter and I couldn't put my foot down. Didn't hurt me or the bike but we sure got a good laugh out of it. And I'm sure this won't be the last I hear of it. Will send in my donation tonight.

Went downtown Flint today to nail the target. Wouldn't you know, it's not called City Hall anymore. It's now called the Flint Municipal Center. So gotta keep looking. But I did see for the first time a motorcycle cop with a motorcycle pulled over.
-
If money was no object I'd like to ride the Stevio Pass in the Italian Alps. Called a pass but really a BIG loop with the start and finish just meters apart.
-
Looks good to me. I see rides. Does it have to be OUR City Hall. I don't go to that part of downtown Flint unless I"m forced to and that's in a cage. City hall is across from the jail and the court house. Of course you can meet some very interesting people whether you want to or not. BUT even though my mailing address says Flint I live in Genesee Township and they have a Township hall??

Oh I wasn't complaining. Just amazes me how she can just keep going and going and going. An animal rescue person is one of the many jobs she is gonna have.

After the funeral Friday my Daughter went up to spend the Holiday with her nephew in the thumb of Michigan. I road the bike up to bring her back and for the 2 hour ride back she didn't shut up once. Did not hook up the intercom and she just rattled on and on and on. If I didn't answer her she just answered herself. When we hit rain I figured she would close her visor and couldn't talk, but no, left it open and just kept talking away. Man did I get a ear full of her future hopes and dreams. Even when we stopped to get gas she talked while I was pumping, followed me in to pay for it and never missed a beat. At times I just couldn't keep from laughing. I better have a good cell phone plan when I let her have her own phone.
