When you come to Flint, Mi again you won't have to worry about being booked at the Motel by the airport again. It got raided and closed down. They put a 12ft fence around the entire property.

Rear Shock PSI...What's Your Number?
KarlS replied to Midicat's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
65 psi rear, damper 3, fronts 6 psi with progressives. I'm 6'4" 280lbs and that setting gives me the ride I like best. Like they said a lot of trial and error to get what you like best. But gives you a reason for a lot of "test" riding. -
Good Luck and Hope for a speedy recovery. I'll be sure to have a coffee for you in the morning.

At 55 I too have way to many to list, but the one that still makes me laugh: Bought a brand new S-10 pickup (first year they came out) drove straight from dealer to u-haul and had a trailer hitch installed. Drove from there to home and loaded the boat and a friend of mine and headed to northern Michigan for a week of fishing on Houghton lake. Set up camp on North shore and had to drive to south shore to launch boat. (very large lake). Friend got in boat, I back boat in water, water not deep enough for boat to float off. I jumped out and pushed boat off trailer. Went to get back in truck and door was shut and LOCKED. Only keys in truck, both sets. Truck 1/2 in water and running while others waiting to launch. (only 2 ramps). Police couldn't even get into this truck. Police drove me to chevy dealer who called the dealer I bought it from to get the key code and made me some keys. Police drove me back and police, me and a crowd of about 30 people all had a good laugh. Things were a lot different back then, wonder how out of hand people and police would get today.

Friday after all the Back To The Bricks festivities I rolled in about 1:30am. Pulled under the awning and when I went to take the keys out, the key kind of grabbed. Grabbed enough to slip out of my fingers but not enough to keep them from coming out of the ignition. Yep, fell right into the fairing. Since the key to the house is on the key ring I took the spare key out of my wallet to get into the house. NO the spare key worked in the door knob but for some reason would not work in the dead bolt. All the house windows are locked because running the A/C, flash light in the saddle bag but no key to unlock it. Saw the neighbors light still on so I knocked on his door to borrow a flash light. (of course he had a Lady friend over) Got the flash light and was able to see the keys. Got my hand squeezed down there (motor still HOT) just touched the keys and down farther they fell. Found them again and ripped and burned half the skin off my arm getting to them. Once again as soon I touched them away they went again. Could see no sign of them now. About that time it's almost 3:00am, was going to climb in the van and sleep until morning. Van keys in the house. Noticed a car leave the neighbors and then my neighbor walked over to see if he could help. He got tools and we started taking things apart. Found the keys wedged between the fan and the radiator. Finally got into the house at 4:15am. Now I have enough (working) keys in my wallet to get into everything I own. At least this didn't cost me a bunch of money like everything else that has happened in the past 4 weeks.

The Back To The Bricks car show/Cruise is going on in Flint Michigan now thru Saturday, Same time as the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend. So the Daughter and I went down the cruise route to check out the cars. At the end of the route in Grand Blanc we pulled into the Grand Mall where all sort of things are going on. We were directed to a motorcycle parking area where next thing I know we are being registered for the motorcycle show. Lots of Harley's, old Honda's and my dirty Yamaha. It was a show what you rode kind if thing. The pictures are , my Bike and a PERFECT Honda CBX in line 6 cylinder. Have no idea who won because we left shortly after the tornado warning sirens started going off.

On my 2003 I got an average of 40 MPG. When I had to drive straight through from Lake Guntersville Alabama to Flint Michigan because of an illness at home I drove 85-90 all the way and it dropped to around 35 MPG. Don't know about risers. There is a red 2003 on e-bay with a buy now price of $11900.00 that looks good.

The Son of a very good friend of mine is being transfer from New Jersey to Atlanta and needs to know what areas to start looking for apartments. He's 30 and single and makes good money so doesn't need anything big, but has no Idea what are the better areas in or around Atlanta. I have a web site that gives me a lot of stats for any area but would be faster if I had some idea where to start looking. I don't know yet what part of Atlanta their headquarters are. Any locations would help..Thanks.

I've lost spark to both right side twice now and it's been bad TCI connection both times. I have my TCI mounted on top of the air box now (thanks to Squidly) and it just took unplugging and cleaning. Good Luck. -
Last week I discovered my Avon Venom rear tire was coming apart, so on the 5th I ordered a Elite 3 from South West Moto. So today I was talking on the phone with a friend that I'm waiting for my new tire to get here, when my phone started beeping with an incoming call. It was South West Moto. They told me my tire was supposed to be shipped to me from one of their warehouses close to me but somehow got shipped to their Tucson location by mistake. Was told how sorry they were for the mistake and would overnight the tire to me at their expense so I could ride by the weekend. Within 15 minutes I got an e-mail with a tracking number and told tire was on it way. Members have posted before how fast they shipped and now I can say how good their customer service is. Plus was the best price I could find. Thanks to the members who have posted about this fine company.

KarlS replied to pakidaho's topic in Watering Hole
When I was out that way we were just a few miles North of you and didn't know it. Came across on 43 from Wisdom to 93 and went North to 12 at Lolo. Took 12 west all the way to the Pacific Ocean. What a great ride US12 is. Have fun on your trip.
