  1. Hey Jack, Just wanted to chime in and WISH YO U A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.If i still lived there I would treat you the DQ down the street. But if ever you are up this way come on by and we will drive up to Albuquerque and I'll treat ya to one there.
  2. Well last night it was -13 and at 11:00 this morning it was -3 and the high was 10. Now no natural gas for the heater so had to go buy space heaters. Truck barely started and have to use 4 wheel drive to get any where. I-25 was shut down for most of the day yesterday
  3. Well. went and got the battery out this morning and put it on the charger at 2 amps. Will let it sit for the day and then put it back in the bike. The only thing that is still dependent on battery after it is shut off is the clock on the ecm. That is what probably what drained the battery. Will let you know what happens tonight.
  4. I have an 89 Venture. I replaced the battery about 1 1/2 years ago. I have a Decka. Bike has been sitting in storage for about 1 1/2 months. Went to start it today battery was dead. Jumped it with car and it would run but when I took off the cables it died. restarted and let it run till it warmed up. removed cables and it would idle. When try to get the rpms up it started to sputter and tack would go all over the place and gauge would go towars the bottom. When let it idle every thing was fine. Is it because the battery is drained so much or is there other problems. This has never happened before. Bike has 100,000 miles on it. I plan on putting battery on charger in the morning and leaving it there till the afternoon. Thanks in advance
  5. The problem in California is that the thiefs have more rights than the law abiding citizen does. When our house got broken into, I had just finished showering, heard 2 voices and grab my gun and cell phone and yelled that I was going to aireate some brains. I was on the phone with the dispatcher and she said that I needed to get out of the house. Within 20 seconds 2 sheriffs arrived and saw me with my gun. Said I couldn't do that. They searched the house to see if I shot some one. Here in New Mexico we are allowed to carry open. And if we go to class we can carry concealed. Like that. If some one comes on your property and is acting in hostil manner you have the right to shoot if they do not leave. California is slowly taking the rights of the individual.
  6. PASSING OF A GENERATION May the hand of the Lord keep you safe and out of harms way.
  7. they are hard leather, but not to much space to put things. Later on I am going to get larger had bags for it.
  8. Just bought this yesterday. Put 130 miles to get it home. 2006 Honda VTX 1800R. 6700 miles new tires and lockable bags. Still have the 1st gen. Will be doing some maintance on her.
  9. Had one couple of years ago, but when I got injured at work and couldn't work and workercomp and all had to sell it because X-Mas was just around the corner and the kids came first. With what I has left I bout the 89 that I have now. I don't plan on selling her, instead going to refurbish her. She has a little over 100,000 miles and needs some work. So that will keep me busy.
  10. Well, Coudn't resist. Bought a 2006 Honda vtx 1800 R with sadlebags, windshield, new tires, and with just over 6,000 miles on it for $6500.00 out the door. Wil be picking it up within the next week and half. I know the routine, pics, pics. As soon as I get her home. Also going tomorrow to start the process of buying a house here. Hope they accept our bid. Will have 2 2car garages to store bikes in and in between them is a place for an RV.........Condor if you need space I have some avalible. lol.
  11. it is only an hour from where I am, he has another bike listed and seems to be a dealer. Will give him a call tomorrow and talk to him. There is also this bike which is in El Paso. This guy has 2 bikes ........... 1999 Honda Valkyrie Interstate-Low Miles-Custom Paint-Excellent 03 Yamaha Venture-Totally Loaded-Very Low Miles-Incredible Bike both bike seem to be a little hifgh priced acording to NADA and Kelly Blue Book. But I will be going there next week to see my Mom and my son.
  12. Thinking of getting another bike. Am looking at several 2nd gens. I came across this one . 2008 YAMAHA VENTURE FULLY DRESSED Is that a resonable price for the bike or should I keep looking. Am also thinking of going to kawasaki nomad as I had one before and no problems with it durning the 4 yeaars that I owned it. All comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bill.
  13. Hay Cruser, I'm in N.M. 7 miles north of Socorro and 7o miles south of Albequerque. Been here for just over a year. Really like it here. Weather is good for riding most of the year.Let me know what you have in mind. Bill
  14. Before we moved here (June of 09) I had the compressor and all new componets installed. (1994 Chevy van) Worked great, till last week. we had stoped to have lunch and then when we left, I turned the air on and noticed that I could smell rubber burning and no cold air. I shut the air off and heard this noise coming from the engine. Pulled over and opened the hood and noticed that the clutch was trying to turn and that is where the noise was comming from. All switches were off. Called the shop that installed the unit and asked if it was still undr warrinty and the people that he bought it from wants me to ship the compressor so that they can determine what happened. I don't think that is going to happen because I need it here to drive the van. I may end up selling it.
  15. possible fork seals leaking??
