That same "friend" who had his new Harley break down at 300 miles also got all the gear and the attitude. He would talk down to me and tell me my bike was nice but it wasn't a Harley, all the chicks want to ride on a Harley, us real bikers ride Harleys, etc, etc. I think he has about 3000k on it over the last two years. When he found out I put on 10,000k just this summer he quit talking to me. lol, no loss.

Think a change of underwear would be in order after this...

I don't see the cab disappearing. What I see is the chrome bar blending in with the sky. -

I think it is for real. I have done a lot of driving in England and that style is quite normal. I don't think the bike ever crossed the line while it is quite clear the truck did. You can also see that the bike went off the pavement onto the shoulder of the road. It is normal in England that if you are not exceeding the speed limit by at least 50% you will have a line of cars trying to get past. In Cornwall it is 100% and the roads are narrower with stone walls on each side. -
Harleys have improved greatly over the years. I think the reason people bash Harleys is not just the bike but many of the riders attitude that he is superior and his bike is superior to every one else. Not a way to win friends.

A friend went and bought a brand new Harley last year. At about 300 miles the belt broke. They towed it in and replaced the belt and he was bragging about the $500.00 shop credit he got, mind you that was just about the same as the towing charge. He totally missed the point that no bike should break down in the first 300 miles. I saw his bike again a couple of times, in the back of his pickup. Stator perhaps?

Fill the tank and add seafoam. shut off the fuel supply and run the engine until it quits. This drains the carbs so they don't gunk up. Do all the rest that has been suggested ( except selling it).

Don't have much whine at low speeds, loudest in mid range and gone at higher rpm. -
If it is like my bike it is not the speedometer, it is the passenger.

Rick, I saw that it was down on the right side. Did you need any adapters for it? I am sick and tired of pedestrians walking out in front of our Santa run and the idiots who claim they did not see you. Who can not see 100 bikes coming at them with engines revving and horns blowing? Idiots.

There's always one in every crowd, or job.

Not that kind, the pathetic one on the bike. I am sure it has been discussed before but I want to upgrade and am looking at Stebel nautilus or Wolo Bad Boy as they seem to be the closest fit. Any opinions (silly question) as to which is best and easiest fit?

My dog figured out how to operate door handles so he could let himself in and out. He scared the cr*p out of a couple thieves that tried to raid our camp in the wee hours. He nudged me awake then waited patiently while I slowly unzipped the tent then went off like a rocket bellowing and roaring. You should have heard the screams, everyone within a half mile did. He defended me against a black bear even though he was sacred to death. He stayed midway between the bear and me, all teeth and snarls and would not let the bear pass. He also checked every 5 seconds to make sure I was still behind him. No one could threaten our kids, not even other kids or dogs, when he was around. When the wife would chew on my ass he would get between us, get up on his hind legs, and lick her face. Game over.

I would like to try to meet you in Naniamo with Rocket. Friday is my wife's birthday so I was reluctant to go until she said she would come along. First time in 2 years she will be on the bike. Can't go to Tofino as I have to be back on Saturday to do the toy run. I am Santa so really can't beg off.

Don't know what they are like for bikes but I have always run Michelin on my sports cars and trucks. Very good traction and very long wear. I believe Michelin invented radial ply tires and Michelin tires are used on the Paris underground. That does not mean they will be good on bikes but I might give them a try.

I can get you a nice tie dyed t shirt and some beads for your pony tail.

Got repeated calls from a dance studio telling me I had won free lessons. I said no thanks but they kept calling back so the next time they started their spiel I started quietly laughing, They finally asked what was so funny. I said "you are trying to sell me dance lessons and I am in a wheelchair" Never heard from them again. I got repeated calls from one of those outfits that tell you you have won an expensive prize but you have to buy $700.00 worth of pencils or something to qualify. They told me I had won a 52" TV. I asked them to ship it to me and I would send the $700.00 after I got it. Next they called and said I had won $20,000.00 in gold coins. I told them to send them with the TV and I would cash in a coin and send them the money. Next they told me I had won a car. I told them to put the TV in the trunk with the gold coins and deliver it to me. They said OK. I then said I also wanted two blonds in the back seat. The girl I was talking to agreed. Then I said they had to be naked. She almost agreed, hesitated, then asked if I was serious. I said I was. She hung up.

Those two bikers blocking traffic may have just been self righteous and trying to make sure nobody speeds. We have some of those types here who drive cars. Places where you can pass safely are few on this island and there are two or three people who think all traffic is too fast so they drive at half the speed limit and refuse to allow anyone to pass. Then we have the idiot tourists who will stop in the middle of the road to look at real live trees.
