I fly the Canadian flag all summer. I take it down in the winter as it would not last long in some of the storms we get. I was part of the Remembrance Day ceremonies here on Saltspring and it seems to me that we are getting more of a response than we used to.

02 venture choke pull distance.

I had the same sort of problem. It worked fine at first then quit working at all. Turns out the rod was bent which is very easy to do. -
Some time ago the local police had a problem with their dogs failing to track. They found out that exhaust fumes were leaking into the back of the cars where the dogs were. It was not enough to affect anyone or even for a human to smell. Just enough to screw up the dogs sense of smell.

When I was a kid we started out with a wood furnace in the basement. It was my job to get up early and fire it up. Then we went to a sawdust stove with a hopper. I still had to get up and fire it up and fill the hopper. Then after I moved out they went to oil. Years later they went back to wood. I have a wood stove in my house (2400 sq ft) and I burn about 2 or 3 cords a year. Wood here costs about $150 to $200 per cord depending on type. Fortunately I have never had to buy any. My friend has a wood pellet stove. It is automatic and is fed by a hopper. He burns about one ton per year but I don't know what the cost is.

If IT and AI ( artificial intelligence) ever get together we will have had IT.

Intelligence Technology........A fiendish way for nerds to confuse us normal people, well, almost normal, sort of, especially us "Elder Statesmen".

The Canadian medical system is great but sometimes there is a considerable wait, particularly for elective surgery. Some (wealthier) Canadians decide to "Jump the line" by going to the US where they pay their money and get it done right away. So many Americans, and others, have come here as "tourists" to take advantage of our medical that the hospitals have now posted a schedule of fees for non-residents. At one time England had universal dental care. They were flooded with "Tourists" from Canada and the U.S. flying over there to get dental work done. It would pay for the trip.

2002 midnight venture
Sailor replied to masterofyard's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Grab the bike and do all of the above. I have a 2002 and really like it. Drain and replace the oil, drain and replace the gas, add seafoam, replace the tires with Avon Venoms . You will be good to go. -
It took three years of battles for my divorce. It started with her giving me custody but wanting the house and alimony. Since she had a job (RN) and I didn't I sued her. Everyone kept telling me I could not sue her for alimony and I kept asking "why not". Her lawyer told her she could not get the house without having custody of the kids so she came and grabbed them from the sitter while I was out. Three years later I got joint custody ( this had not been done here before) and the house. It all depends on how much is at stake. Keep fighting and don't worry about posting. People here are pretty sympathetic.

We often get through winter with just a few days of heavy frost. Sometimes we might get about 6 inches of the white stuff that lasts about a week. It is rare for us to get a heavy fall (12 inches or more) and have it last more than a week. That being said I can remember getting about 30 inches a couple times. The forecast is for very cold and lots of white stuff for this winter. For the past year we have consistently had below average temperatures, even in the summer. I have stocked up on firewood and brandy, oh yeah, some food as well.

Possible solution for the high cost of prescription drugs
Sailor replied to CaptainJoe's topic in Watering Hole
Some doctors must get kickbacks for prescribing new and expensive drugs. The drug companies push hard for them to prescribe the most expensive. Often there is an older and cheaper substitute that works just as well. -
The English language is the richest in the world with the largest vocabulary. It is being reduced to moronic grunts through I pod, twitter, tweet etc. How can you compare " I shall wreak vengeance upon you and wreck havoc with your life" to something like " I gon SU ovr":crying:

A friend of mine is into rockets. He goes back to the prairies to launch them. He is also into bikes. Want to get noticed? Try towing an 8 foot rocket cocked up at a 45 degree angle with your bike. He does get attention.

LA Choppers Slip Ons
Sailor replied to cipher1300's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
There is a rubber washer both on the top and bottom of the bracket you bolt onto. I think this is to prevent vibration but I believe that is the cause. It only sways an inch or so and slips at the joint where it joins onto the header pipe so I don't think it is doing any damage. -
Dad challenged me to a fight when I was about 16. He was bigger than me and he wouldn't let it go until I picked him up and threw him across the room. We lived on the waterfront and as a little kid I would go down to the beach and wire a couple logs together, grab a long stick and head out. Eventually the wire would break or work loose and I would be a half mile out in the ocean with only one log. My mom got so many phone calls that she would just tell people that I was born to hang so she didn't have to worry about me drowning.

I do not have a cell phone, don't want one. I do not answer the phone at home. I always let it go to the answering machine. This is because when I did answer the phone 99 times out of 100 it was for my wife. I would ask the caller if they wanted to leave a message, they would say "no, I'll call back.". Then I had a problem. If I did not tell my wife that someone called she would get mad at me when they called back. If I did tell her she would get mad at me because I did not get their name, what they wanted and the time they were going to call back. Either way I was doomed so I just quit answering the darn thing.

According to the "Hurt Report" the median time for a motorcyclist to react to an emergency is 2 seconds. That does not give time to plan anything. I always try to ride with an escape in mind so I can just react.

LA Choppers Slip Ons

I find the pipes sway a bit. I followed the instructions and even tightened the bolts until I stripped one (oops) and they still sway a bit. Anyone else find that happening? -
First you make a post, then it is deleted before we get to see it, then you tell us the post was deleted......that is just teasing us.

I find if you give it just a tiny bit of throttle while slowing down it helps quiet the popping. -
Just my luck, now they go on sale. I was 3 months early.

I have the L.A. choppers. Nice rumble at low speed, low rumble at cruising speed, crack the throttle and they get real loud real fast, a bit too loud for me. I like the rumble and am learning to check who is around before I hit the throttle. -
Added bonus.....you can go off road with it...er....her.
