  1. Hang in there. You are looking at a month and a half. I think it is best to wait and follow your doctor's advise. Usually your insurance may not cover you, if the unfortunate happens with no release papers from your doctor.
  2. I say on my end, get even with him when he least expect it. Patience has its virtue. Time will Tell and play it smart...smarter than him. BTW, did he like your 2nd Gen?
  3. Please let us know what you do for your side Lights or Markers. I am hoping someone here would have other ideas for a brighter side marker.
  4. What is the easy way? I am imagining that my hands are small enough to maneuver in that small opening, but once I actually do it is a different story.
  5. Thanks for this thread. I always need a refresher time to time. At 5'5" and 175 lbs., it will have to remember this technique just in case it happens to me. Leg power is just amazing.
  6. As you do your bearings, can you share some pics as you go along? You know, a pic to me is worth a thousand words.
  7. +1 on Speedbleeders. I love them. The first time I bled my clutch and brakes, I think it already paid for itself. With Speedbleeders, there is no errors involved in bleeding your brakes as long as you don't let your reservoir low in brake fluid. It trully is a one man job bleeding brakes w/ speedbleeders. Tom...just post your question here in case of doubt...Speedbleeder users will be very glad to give you tips.
  8. The mileage on your bike is impressive. As for greasing the front axle, your input is much appreciated as I am getting close in replacing my front tire. As far as grease is concerned, I may just use Honda Moly60 since I have plenty left. BTW, why are you replacing bearings and seals in addition to the axle? Is it cheaper to buy them as one assembly/setup?
  9. I know I did not put any grease on my rear axle, but definitely greased all my splines as recommended. As for the front axle, I think it is not required to grease the axle. However, I remember that some members do recommend at least apply a small amount of grease to the front axle for easy removal next time. Is your shop trying to say that there should be grease on the front axle , if so, this may have prevented any damage. (?)
  10. Also very glad to hear that you are doing just fine, despite your orthopaedic injuries...you are still around with your family. I was just thinking about your helmet situation and without the helmet, this could have been a different story. I do hope that Progressive is successful in recovering most of your loss. Take care and heal fast. Regards.
  11. Glad it was not a Tank he was operating while intoxicated.
  12. +1 on Bambi sightings and it can be any time of the day. (Now that school is over for most kids, I am tempted to get to work earlier...my conscience is telling me not to head our too early especially before sunrise.) Glad to hear nobody got hurt. It definitely is a moment to be remembered and learn from it. Ride and Drive Safe. Regards.
  13. I really don't mind 2 kickstand on the bike. I'm just not sure that the right side kickstand may be in the way of the Carbon One adapter and lift. Not a bad idea at all.
  14. I'm keeping a close eye on my rear shocks. Everytime I put it on the lift to clean tires, etc...I always look underneathe and hope that I don't see any oil dripping from the shock. I'll stay tuned for txsturgis' update.
  15. I still stick with what I used to use awhile back. It is Kawasaki's 'Wipe Down' and it only cost $5.00 for a 12oz can from our local Kawasaki dealer. I usually pickup 4 cans at a time. As far as plexus is concerned and for $20+ bucks a can...the product is not for me. Sorry, I am just too cheap.
  16. I've had Tsukayu Jumbo's on my Vulcan a number of years back...I say, do not waste your money on the Tsukayu's. I personally do not like how they are made. Stick with OEM hard bags, you'll be happier in the long run.
  17. Thanks for the heads up. I would imagine the calipers are aluminum...if not it is a softer metal.
  18. Wow! I did not realize the rear axle bolt has almost twice the amount of torque compared to the front bolt. Thanks for posting the specs.
  19. That is really impressive on the condition of your drive shaft after 80,000 miles. Looks like you have thousands of miles more to come...ride safe.
  20. I didn't know anything about this pinch bolt until I read this thread. Good information for I am also getting closer to replace my front tire. Perhaps by the end of this year, a new tire may already be in place.
  21. For water to get in the final gear oil assuming that the plug is properly torqued, the seal must be in real bad shape to allow this to happen. I've never replaced my final gear bolt washer as of yet, but I shall replace this the next time I change gear oil. I think it is about 50 cents each at my local auto parts store.
  22. Will Honda Moly60 be the ok grease?
  23. After reading your pdf attachment, adjusting the headlight beam is not so bad. The instruction shows a car and I will assume it is similar to motorcycles.
  24. My Dream Ride is to be able to ship my Venture to the Phillipine Islands and Ride North of Manila and ride. This may be the best vacation I will ever have, but it is just a dream for now. I also would like to cross the Baja Desert on 2 wheels someday.
  25. The price is a little steep for me for what the device is going to do. However, I am also interested as to how it would accurately work on the Venture and eventually be inclined to buy one in the future. Thanks for taking the time to share this to forum members.
